With the latest build I seem to be getting a bug that whenever I connect to a WiFi network my CPU usage rises to 60-80% all the time, and the phone thus heats up. This doesnt occur on 3g/LTE.
Anyone else having similar issues? Or would this be a GAPPS issue.
Thanks
It happens the same to me, I tried with stock and Franco Kernel and it still happenning the same.

i have searched but havent found what i feel that i am looking for. i got a replacement DInc about a month with no issues till about 10-12 days ago. I have started getting constant reboots running the nightly cm7 ROMS. decided to go back to try RC1 but getting them on it as well. i am even getting this running a bare ROM (ROM & GAPPS only installed) yet still get reboots but less often i will admit. the more of my settings/apps that are added back....the more reboots i get. occasionally i will get stretches that are great reliability but rarely. anyone else getting this? i am sincerely beginning to feel that i may have gotten a bad replacement device.
thanks in advance all.
make sure your cpu is set to 998 or if you wish to overclock it then make sure the wifi is set to never sleep.
setcpu is usually never higher than 1036 (occasionally 1075) cause havent had much need to OC the DInc. to be curious what does overclock and wifi sleep have to do with each other. these issue exist even with WiFi off, running on mobile network.
Hi guys,
Just picked up this phone early in the week. A couple of issues I'm having:
Using stock/rooted Rom the phone will
(1)sometimes reboot after turning on Bluetooth.
(2)Google music will skip every few seconds. I thought it might be my internet connection but it doesn't happen on my tablet connected to the same router.
Using stock/rooted Rom & cm9 nightly I have noticed that the CPU fluctuates between lowest voltage and highest voltage every few seconds even when idle. Is this a common issue or did I get a lemon?
Thanks!

Sounds pretty much in line with this issue I had, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24179363&postcount=4 . I would also suggest getting a replacement.
Also what did you use to track your voltage/cpu issues? I would like to make sure there is no issues with my 2nd P930 before I flash CM9.
Thanks.

Thanks. I was using the stock LG applications manager app. It shows CPU%. On cm9, I was looking under the performance settings where it shows current CPU voltage.
Taking it back today. I really want to love this phone. Hope I get a good one.
Under kernel wake locks on Better Battery Stats I have a huge wake lock on the baseband.
Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.

IIRC you are too far away from your wifi router. Or you are in a bad reception area. For the first, get closer. For the second, not many options but try switching to 2g only.

Thanks for the reply. My WiFi is full strength and my reception is fine normally.
This happens even in 2G. It also happens with full bars, 3G.
Any ideas? I made this thread because I'm truly stuck.

Having the same exact problems after I flashed ICJ/CM.
4 hrs on battery and baseband has kept the phone awake foe 1 hour.
Exactly same problem here! Only happens over Wifi but i have full signal. Would love to know what i can do, tried all the usual tips ie location etc.

Hi.
A bunch of us have this issue on the Nexus 7 3G. It happens when you use WiFi and has nothing to do with poor reception as it continues once you turn off WiFi. It also has nothing to do with 2g/3g as it happens to us without sim cards and on airplane mode. It's very annoying and causes huge drains in the battery!
Please star and comment (very important to star) here, and hopefully Google will notice - http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=42993 .
Thanks!
Flashed CM 10.1 B6 yesterday and the problem seems to have disappeared. 50 mins of wakelock from baseband after 10 hrs.
what is this wakelock about?
I've lost 20% of battery overnight after charging.. and these wakelocks are preventing my One X from deep sleep? What can I do to stop this? Very frustrating..
are there any new workarounds for this problem? does this also happen on stock rom with stock kernel for you?
Same issue here on ICJ. Can't get more than maybe 1-1,5h of screen on time because of that stupid wakelock draining all the battery in sleep.
try flashing a different radio maybe it will help
anybody solved this problem? I tried the latest CM 10.2 nightlies (android 4.3) and got into this problem. I also have the same problem using stock 4.2.2.

it is fixed in this kernel (stock only) #010

Hi,
I recently installed the teamwin custom kernel and the AOSP Android 5.1 Lollipop from adrianom but I'm now having overheating issues even if I'm just browsing. The top of the tablet becomes painfully hot and eventually the whole thing shuts down.
I've updated to the latest version of the kernel and custom rom, installed a CPU usage and temperature app but the problem has continued. CPU usage doesn't appear to be too heavy but the temperature quickly reaches 70c.
Does anyone have any ideas or experiences on resolving this?
My S3 has recently been extremely laggy and will be unresponsive for up to 5 minutes at a time. Occasionally, it will reboot, but usually it will just freeze and stay there. I haven't installed any new apps and I kept an eye on my CPU temps and clock speeds. Seems like it is always running at 1.5 GHz whenever I touch the screen and stays there until the screen is turned off. CPU temps also reached as high as 69 Celsius and cooled down to a constant 47-50 Celsius (which I believe is unusually high).
I've ODINed back to stock NF1 and NH2 firmware, and the lag still persists. I've flashed SlimKat 9, CM11 M12, and it seems the 4.4 ROMs freeze more often than the CM12.1 0516 nightly I'm currently running, but all ROMs I use all freeze up. On 4.4.4, I used LeanKernel v9.16 with no overclock/overvolt and interactiveX. On 5.1, I'm using the stock kernel.
Could my hardware be damaged? I can't tolerate this freezing issue anymore, especially since each reboot drains battery and will lead to another hang 50% of the time. I actually contemplated tossing my phone against the wall.
Does it hang from a fresh flash without any third party apps installed? If so, then it is probably a hardware issue

Just flashed the CM12.1 nightly as a clean install. Ran all apps and did not experience any hangs, will do further testing to confirm the issue is gone. Seems like your advice worked and I should be ashamed because I troubleshoot computers and it's what I do/recommend when a computer is slow.
