Hello, i don't know but accidentally S-OFFed my HOX;
When I bought, it cames in S-ON status (but with SuperCID 11111111)
Now, It says:

When I bought I upgraded to last official HTC ROM (4.18.401.3) (without updating to 401.4), first, I unlocked via HTCDEV and flashed PhilZ Touch 5.15.9 - HTC_One_X -attached- (since it's the only that works with my touchscreen and with I can charge in recovery, anyway I think USB mode not work, but for me, doesn't matter since I have flashables in phone already)
Then, I flashed the last kernel (PA3) from Alex-V (2.7 Classic PA 3 Sense 5), and "new_s2w_with_dt2w" -attached- and flashed ViperX 4.1.0 FULL Rom (obviusly first Wipe data-> Clean to install a new ROM in Philz). In the middle of the flashing, (next, next, next...I dont remove anything) the phone rebooted itself (I scared xD) and I manually powered off (~10 seconds pressing power off) to go again to recovery, I entered in fastboot and O_O I cared about the S-OFF
I share this because maybe in the middle of this steps is anything that s-off the phone
EDIT: Phone rebooted when selected "perform a full wipe" from VenomX installer
This is not useful as obtaining s-off. You already had supercid. We don't get accidentally s-off by flashing recoveries or roms. Wise advice....Let this be because it won't help us, really. Sorry.
Lol
Sent from my alarm clock.
Tbh, S-Off is merely just a status now. It's useless, especially since kernel flashing via recovery is now possible.

Read the development sections. Look for kernel lighter from thunder, or the multirom thread.

I (very) recently got a HOX which my dad "got" in China (it's like his bonus )
Unfortunately, there is no Google Play (I'm in Canada), only some HTC Market with Chinese apps.
I tried to install a APK, but it crashes upon opening, I believe it's factory blocked.
All the methods to get the store requires root. So I might as well go the full way and get a better OS version.
Here's my plan, please tell me anything that is wrong or could be done in a better way:
I'm COMPLETELY new to Android!
1) Use hasoon2000's All-In-One Toolkit to root
2) Make a Backup...somehow
3) Install custom ROM, preferably English stock
4) ???
5) Happy Me
So here's my questions
1) Is there an easier way to do this?
2) Is it possible to switch to a version where official OTA updates (Eng ofc) is available?
3) Is it better to just get someone else to do it? (Playing with the command console/line is fine, but bricking my phone....)
I can provide any other information if needed
Version: S720e (99% sure it's the quadcore international)
Android: 4.1.1 (Jellybean?)

Do you mean the HTCdev "Unlock Bootloader" process?
If so then I can't do it until sometime tmr (I still have 1 day of school, sorry :crying
It only wipes the user data so no backup is need, right?
or
Is it something else?
Are you sure its the international HOX, because China only sells the TD-SCDMA version, which is incompatible with our ROMs.

Even i share the same doubt, because the international version i suppose must have the play store pre installed.

Not that... the bootloader/hboot screenshot. Where you press power+volume down to get to the bootloader then only you can proceed with any other thing. That screen.
Need to know what is written there.. if you can't make a screenshot of that, just write here what it says on the bootloader/hboot
It says WCDMA on the box, though I wouldn't put it pass them to lie.
Any other way to check?

That's the info that others may help further.
At least it is genuine One X for China market; not a clone (China doesn't allow Play Store there if I'm not mistaken)
And I guess the process to put in a custom ROM is same like One X international; unlock the bootloader; flash a custom recovery; make a nandroid backup of current ROM then flash a ROM. As your hboot is 1.36; it's JellyBean
To reboot, press power once.. it will go to Fastboot, there you can select Reboot
Hang on, its S720e?

Yeah, and it's gray, if it matters
Is it possible to switch to a stock version that can OTA?
If not, then what do you guys think is a good custom ROM that is noob friendly?
My one x has RL at the end of bootloader, while yours has RH...
If its the TD-SCDMA its gonna be S720t, but I really don't know since China uses TD-SCDMA...

When we picked the phone (well I did), I made sure it worked with the network range here.
So I guess it's not surprising that the international version was the only one that would work here.
P.S. Your sig is funny :good:

The only stock version that will recieve OTAs is your phones stock.
If I would suggest a custom ROM, I would say either Maximus or ARHD as both are close to stock and are based on WWE.
Renovate is themed and stripped, but has excellent performance in terms of gaming fluidity and UI, but strips Sense of some skins and wallpapers etc.
There's also AOSP, which doesn't have HTC Sense overlay, but is even more fluid, but it's not as stable and bugfree.
Try each of them out and test for yourself, there's a thread in Dev section which lists all the available ROMs.

Thanks, will have to check those out ( assuming I don't brick my phone )
Oh, found a thread asking about the S720t, it appears the only thing crippled by ROMs is mobile
My plan doesn't include mobile so that's perfect

I don't think its only mobile, as there's one thread with a guy who flashed a custom ROM only to realize he couldn't get a signal.
But you're getting a signal in Canada, so its probably not S720t

Sorry, but what is this CID? I can't check mine as I can't download any CID apps (No Google Play), it seems very important...
Might have to sideload one.
Do you have fastboot and adb files in your computer?
If yes, boot your phone into fastboot mode in the bootloader, then on your pc, open up a CMD window, navigate to your folder containing the files, and then type
fastboot oem readcid

So, i flashed several HTC DHD before, so i have the knowledge on the how-tos. BUT when it comes to my new HOX, i've read that upgrading ICS to JB needs to have CID listed, which i didn't find on any lists.
So the question is, Can or Can't i upgrade to JB?

have you find out already what is your CID?
Hello,
This basically means that your phone is s-off (as it is given there) and you have super-cid. You wont find this cid on any upgrade threads as it is not an usual one. You are one of the lucky FEW to have a s-off device.
So you are not bound by any operator or region.
[TOOL] JB FW Easy Flasher & Fastboot Toolkit *Update Dec21* hboot 1.31/1.33/1.36/1.39
Just use this tool to upgrade your hboot. Read the thread and select the s-off process when you are executing the program.
So, is it a good choice upgrading to JB or are there more special features for my unusual phone (Oh, stop it, you :victory: ) ?
You can basically root and flash any ROM without losing warranty, AND you do not need PC to do that. It's a lottery win to have that kind of phone and I'm envious as f***.
Btw: those smileys at OP... LOL
Yes, that's exactly what i want, to flash a JB ROM, but i wanna know if there is anything i should do or pay more attention to, in order to get it. Should i just install from SD or do i have to do what anks kindly suggested?
cid 1111 s-off you lucky ba####d lol
Go to htcruu website and download the jellybean ruu. Plug your phone into PC and run the ruu on your PC. It will update everything to jellybean

You can try Cyanogenmod, its JB but without sense and you dont need to upgrade your hboot for that.

Hello.
I have received a new HTC One X today. I want to install android revolution HD (jellybean) however it states my CID has to be a specific one. However when i check it says None when i check via CMD and when im in recovery it says CID-11111111. Before i unlocked the bootloader it already said the CID-11111111. I have also been able to install CWM recovery. Below is further information.

Any help or advice for flashing android revolution 18.1 would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
EDIT: Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_9.8 Installs perfectly fine. However i would prefer Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_18.1 (jellybean). But due to having superCID im a little confused on which hboot i should install. Any help anyone?
With your cid(super cid) you can install any rom...but you need update Hboot to flash jellybean . Use any firmware from any cid to update Hboot to 3.xx .

Thanks for the reply.
That's what i thought. However when ever i flash anything other than ICS within CWR i get error status 7. Also error on verification. Then it checks my CID and errors. I used an official OTA update: OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.27-2.17.401.2_release_298985n1wwcwzs385c0bvz. That's what i used.
Then i tried installing via pc. It also failed during the installation. Same as above really.
Am i doing something wrong?. Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks.
Another note: Even with the stock rom that was on the phone. When i try and update via stock rom it fails for the same reasons as above. says my CID is wrong. Even though i haven't changed it etc. It was CID:11111111 out of the box. I somehow don't think it is true CID:11111111 if it keeps failing on installs. The only thing it doesn't fail on is Android revolution HD ICS (9.8). I need some serious help please
FINAL EDIT. Everything is sorted. I had to change my CID because i couldn't do ANYTHING, even though it stated i had 11111111... Mods please close and delete this thread.
Hi there! I've done quite some ROM flashing on my HTC Sensation. Now my girlfriend has an old Desire HD which has been running ARHD 6.3.3 ever since she bought it of a friend of ours. It's running really poorly and has quite some issues.
I want to flash the newest ViperDHD on her device. But after reading some of the DHD forums I really still have no clue on where to start
It seems I'm S-off (see attached screenshot of haboot) but do I have the right hboot, RIL, radio, kernel or whatever? What are the latest versions of those?
Should I downgrade to 1.32.405.6 WWE as I read here?
I have no idea if the device came shipped with GB.. How can I figure that out?
I would really appreciate it if someone could offer me a little guidance here. I have attached screenshots of the current state of the device. Where should I go from here to get everything to the latest versions and give this DHD a second life. (I might even replace the cracked screen if get it right)
EDIT: ARHD 6.3.3 has Android version 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0
I see there are 2 different kinds of S-OFF on DHD (Eng and Radio). What is the difference and how can I tell which one I'm at now?
Couldn't wait so went ahead and just flashed the ROM as I normally would. All seems ok. Apparently no special firmwares/RIL/hboot's are needed?

Most of the rom is already included all the libs needed to supprt the hrdware.. If you have no problem in coverage etc, there is no need to flash ril/radio.. Besides, ril is only for sense based rom..

Yeah, that's what confused me.
I successfully flashed CM 10.1.2. (JB 4.2.2) through CWM Recovery (v5.8.4.0) a few days ago on my One X. Everything was running smooth as a butter until i saw the 4.2.2 update for my One X... Then I decided that I will go back to stock, so I could update to 4.2.2 and enjoy Sense 5, but that's where my mistake was ;x. I started by flashing the stock recovery, then relocking the bootloader and trying to find a RUU that would be good for me. Then I found out that my firmware version was 3.20.401.1 and there is not a RUU for that version yet since it was released these days.. After that things went in a wrong direction as i flashed CWM Recovery v5.8.4.0 back and started to wipe the data, cache,Dalvik and stuff.. After i wiped those and tried to install CM 10.1.2 again i saw that my SD card was empty...I realized that the zip with the rom is gone.. so I ended up with no ROM. The CWM Rec remained, though, but I cant do nothing right now. When i turn on the phone, I get into bootloader and the only thing I could do from there is to get to CWM. My backup with cm is also gone.. so I am in a bootloop of which I can't get out ! The worst thing about the whole situation is that even my PC can't recognize the phone, as it says that Windows can't find a driver for it.. I have tried many drivers, including ADB universal driver,HTC Sync Manager, HTC Driver Installer and so on..
Here's the info from my bootloader screen:
