[Q] Stock email app still notifies "checking inbox" after deleting account? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I'm running Android 4.2.2 on Samsung GS4 SGH-m919.
I set up an Exchange account using the stock "Email" app. I later deleted that account from the accounts list. Now if I run Email, it starts the "set up email" process, so it acts like the account is gone.
However, I am still seeing regular status messages that say "checking inbox: exchangeserver.com".
I have restarted the phone since deleting the exchange account.
From Application Manager, Email is not shown as a running application.
Why am I still seeing notifications about checking a non-existent account? How can I fully eliminate the remains of the account?

Could wipe data.

Email client keeps crashing after ActiveSync setup

Hi,
i've received my GN two days ago.. (All Stock | 4.02)
During the setup of my Exchange 2010 account the email client crashed.
I'm getting errors with the security requirement of the exchange. (error messages with "null")
Now i can't use email. direct crash of email or sync service after launch.
I try to delete data of email in settings, but "delete data" is blank out.
Everthing is just fine, exept email. Any ideas?

Maybe you can delete from settings the account. Not from email.

It does't show up in accounts.
Is there a way to delete email data/account setting via adb?
I want to prevent a factory reset...
Do you have a valid certificate installed on your Exchange server?
On the exchange side everything is fine incl. SSL-Cert.
All other phones (iPhone's & Desire S') work without any issue.

Maybe delete data and cache from app?

How to get stock e-mail client to download all emails

I am using the default e-mail application that comes with the Note 2. It is setup for my Company account. (corporate Gmail service)
It works fine Except the fact that it does not download all email. (showing only 1000 emails always).
I have gone into client settings and have checked "Recent messages" to "TOTAL" but nothing seems to work.
Thanks for any help!
Note:
In gmail settings "IMAP Folder Size Limits" is set to "Do not limit the number of messages in an IMAP folder (default)". Also, this account works fine with my HTC Desire HD.
Why are using IMAP? Setting up Gmail as exchange account works better.

[Q] Stock Email - Remove Gmail Accounts

I'm hoping this is possible.
So on my personal phone I always use the gmail App for my accounts.
I just recently started working for a company that doesn't issue cell phones, but will set up your exchange account on your personal phone, so i've gone and done that.
Everything works fine, accept the Exchange account is accessed through the Stock Email app, and it is also synching my 2 gmail accounts. Is it possible to remove the gmail accounts from the Stock email app? I've gone into the app's settings and I can't see anything to remove them. I can see the option to stop the sync, but that does me no good for whats already been synced.
Any tips?

[Q] Galaxy S4 Mini (i9192) caching unwanted contacts

Hi there.
I have a rooted S4 mini Duos (GT-i9192) running I9192XXUBNB1 Android 4.2.2. I added my work's Exchange mail, and a personal pop3 account. The mail app looks like it went and rooted around *everywhere* and found pictures for some contacts, and added dozens of other addresses which appear to be fake senders of spam that had at one point been in the pop3 account's inbox.
Now whenever I start typing an address it comes up with lots of results which are just garbage which I cannot seem to remove.
I cleared the cache and data on:
Favourite Contacts
Google Contacts Sync
Samsung Contact SyncAdapter
I've logged into my gmail account (which I never use) and deleted all the contacts there, and told it not to sync contacts but still they remain.
I cleared both my mail accounts from the mail program, readded just the work Exchange one and it's still there.
The only time I ever see a reference to these addresses is when I'm composing mail. If I click/hold the address to try and get an option on it I don't. I can add it to contacts but of course I don't want that, I just want to delete them.
Any advice? I'm raging hard.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone? Please?
Have you clear data and cache from the mail app? I think those ghost contacts are in your phone the contact app or were synchronized to your exchange account check there

I'd cleared all accounts but the mail app doesn't have a "clear data" option, it's greyed out. I had a look on Exchange but no contacts for these users there, not even in the "suggested contacts" box.
I'm getting close to nuking it and starting again. I'm sure as heck never buying Samsung again. It's as if I'm borrowing a phone from them and they're trying to determine how I can and can't use it.
I also noticed another issue: I have an app that requires a password to be entered on logging in, but the keyboard shows and even *caches* this password. I can remove it, but it'll automatically re-cache it unless I turn off all the learning features. Is this just some idiocy from the Samsung keyboard? And if so, is there a better one I can install?

How can I remove email account from gmail app ?!

Hi guys, I've got 2 accounts and wants to remove one, can you explain me how to remove email account from fu...king gmail app ?!
at Settings -> Accounts & sync -> Personal (POP3) - when click on 3 dot's got only "sync now" option, theres no remove option, at gmail app cannot find remove option as well.. can someone help me ? thanks
You have to do it via accounts in settings. For some strange reason the functionality isn't built into the app itself. Obviously this means everything associated with this account will be deleted, not just email.
Actually you can go under the google account, and turn off just email, thus keeping play store functionality. Select the google account, and turn off Gmail. note this won't delete the mail already on the phone, you'll have to reset the gmail app to do that, but it will stop syncing and downloading of new messages.
