I just installed CarbonRom:
Flashed boot.im,
factory reset with ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.7 (wipe data/factory reset), wiped the cache,
installed both CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140602-0102-endeavoru.zip and gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip.
Everything went well, but wifi can not be activated. It is grayed out.
Do I have to use another kernel to get wifi to work?
If yes, how do I flash the kernel?

Thanks for your reply, appreciated.
Would this be the correct kernel?

ok, i know how to wipe data/factoty reset-wipe cache and delvic. So, how do you wipe system??
Its under advanced in CWM
wiping
ok, is that format system, i don't have an option for wipe system there.
Yes. Format.
Sent from my Droid.
My format system was under mount and storage.. I tried several times last night to load CM9 with CWR from Rom manager. I finally flashed in fastboot the CWR for ICS 5.5.0.4 and then I followed this and everything went fine.
- Wiped the big 3. Factory reset, partition cache, then dalvik cach under advanced.
- Selected mount and storage. Format system=Yes
-Flashed the Rom
-Flashed the Gapps.
-Rebooted
- Once logged in went back to recovery and wiped partition and dalvik cache and flashed the v9 kernel from aerovan.
-Boot up and enjoy the ICS.
Hope this helps!

Is there a CWM guide explaining specifically what every option does?
So sorry if this has been posted
EDIT: Never mind I found a CWM manual.
What kernel are you trying to flash? aerovan 7bfs is known to break data. Try waiting a few minutes after flashing and see if it fixes itself. Also don't flash the kernel right after flashing the ROM. that might fix the problem

What kernal did you flash?
You can flash aero's kernal .9 after flashing ROM and then flash gapps. That's what i do.
kernel
i flashed .9 aeroevans, after i installed the rom then i lost 3g and wifi. why doesn't the rom zip contain the kernel.9. this is my question
When compiling from source it takes some adjusting. Its just easier to just re-compile the update.
I just updated to aero's 4-20 build.
Boot into recovery
Nandroid backup
go to mounts and storage > format /system, /cache, & /data
Go Back
wipe data/reset
wipe cache
flash aero's 4-20
don't reboot
flash aero's kernal
don't reboot
flash gapp's
reboot.
No issues at all
Restore everything via titanium backup.
Hello,
I'm having issues to get the Pacman 19.1a (GSM) to start. It's stuck at boot. I've tried flashing 19.1, which is booting fine, however this is not allowing me to enter a PIN code. This issue was reported fixed in 19.1a which is why I tried.
I'm using the following kernel: boot-HELLBOY-CM10-201212251747.img
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Thanks!

As far as I know, I'm using the latest hellboy kernel. I've tried CM9 and CM10, but they both have the same effect. Should I be mistaken, could you provide me with a download link or version number I should get?
@brusell: So it seems I'm not the only one? I would have reported it in the ROM's topic, however my current postcount does not allow me to...
Resolved in Verdion 19.3
Just wanted to post the "solution"; the issue has been resolved in version 19.3.
Ok so I did a factory reset wiped cache and wiped dalvic, installed pacman 19.3 using twrp and then flashed hellboy kernel and rebooted, but I've been stuck at the pacman logo for 2 hours!! Did I do anything wrong? Can you tell me how u got out of it on 19.1?Do i just wait for the battery to die?

Hey mate, i'm having the same problem as you did. Could you post the solution? Thanks in advance!
So I must be doing something wrong here. I had CM10 on my phone and upgraded to 10.1 . after i did that my txt and web icon from the bottom tool bar disappeared. So I flashed back to full stock (4.1.2) and started over with a different rom. I've tried 3 roms and get the same issues every time. 1) the txt and web icons are missing. 2) the theme does not load .
I do get the custom bootscreen when I load up and the custom menu under the setting menu so it seems like I'm loading only half the rom. right now I'm trying to get [ROM] [AOSPAL | MAGURO | B9 | 10.06.2013] Linaro 4.8 Optimized AOSPA to load.
I booted into recovery. wiped system cache, wiped dalivk, flashed rom, flashed gapps and flashed dalvik again. any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Stock for the gnex is 4.2 now flash the stock 4.2 then try it again

It might be me, but it looks rather weird.
My steps, using CWM usually are:
wipe data/factory reset
wipe /system
wipe dalvik
flash ROM
flash gapps
wipe dalvik
reboot.
Are you sure you did the factory reset option?

I flashed the LZ kernel over CM10.1 Wild for the Night. I'm now stuck in a bootloop. I tried flashing the patched LZ kernel, but to no avail.
Can I just go back into Clockworkmod, wipe, and install a new ROM (preferably PACman ROM) through mounting USB storage?
If not, what other options do I have?
Thanks!
Do you have a backup that you can restore?
I read that the kernel will boot loop if you wipe cache and dalvik.

I don't have a backup, but I don't really want or need one. I can get all my stuff back in like 20 minutes. I hardly ever do any gaming.
And no, I didn't wipe anything. I just installed the kernels. I've given up on trying to install the kernel, though. I just want to install a ROM.
Will it work if I just wipe and install PACman ROM or Revolt JB through CWM?
Yep
It should long as you can boot into recovery.

Guys,
Need your help. I am unable to install any Android 4.3 ROMs in my G Note II. I have tried PA 3.99, ProBam 4.4.1, etc. but all of them getting stuck right at the boot animation screen. Here is my status and what I've already tried:
CWM Touch Recovery v6.0.3.5 (latest one available with 4.3 support)
Tried Android Revolution HD Super Wipe Script
Tried Factory Reset + Wipe Cache Partition + Wipe Dalvik Cache
Tried formatting Internal Storage
Tried the method: Factory Reset + Install ROM + Clear Cache/Dalvik + Install GApps + Clear Cache/Dalvik
Tried multiple wipe cache + wipe dalvik cache combinations as suggested in forums
Still no dice. I am stuck at the boot animation screen. If I install any 4.2.2 or 4.1.2 ROMs, all goes perfectly fine.
I had installed a 4.3 ROM previously, then reverted back to 4.2.2 for stability. Now I want to try 4.3 ROMs since they are much more usable now.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It looks like you need to include a wipe of system partition when you perform the full wipe procedure, or as just recommended using philz recovery, use the wiped data/factory reset: Clean to install a new rom.

I got nandroid backups taken using CWM. I believe, if I move over to Philz, I might loose the ability to restore them, right?
No other method to do this using CWM? I can try formatting /system if required.

AFAIK PhilZ recovery can restore CWM backups. To be sure you can create a new Nandroid backup after installating PhilZ recovery.
(TWRP is the best for me )
Anyway do you flash a custom kernel or a mod/theme?

Nope, I never go for customer kernels or themes. Happy with default kernels.
I see.. Lemme try Philz recovery and wipe the system and retry installing PA 3.99.

That worked! I installed Philz recovery and used the "Clean to install a new rom" option under "wipe data/factory reset".
Basically, I had to wipe the /system partition. I was under the impression that it was /sdcard. But now in love with Philz Recovery with all those options, along with the goodness of CWM Recovery.
Thanks a ton for all who helped!
Happy for you
