Hi there,
I've got an HTC One M8, on the T-Mobile Network. I recently unlocked and rooted my phone. I downloaded the Paranoid Android beta ROM and installed it along with gapps. All went smoothly and booted up fine. However, I noticed my phone wasn't connecting to LTE. All I could do was make phone calls. I tried flashing the ROM again, same issue. I then tried the Cyanogenmod ROM and also had the same issue, so I finally restored my phone's nandroid backup so I'm all good again.
But I'm curious what the issue might be. I also tried taking out and putting back in my SIM card etc. Is there something I'm missing that I need to do?

OKay, I was able to resolve this issue on my own. I changed my APN setting to utilize IPv6 and it's been running just fine. Go figure.

Background:
I rooted my phone back in August using the method described in this video (http://androidandme.com/2010/07/phones/intro-to-rooting-your-sprint-htc-evo-4g-video/) I've flashed numerous ROMs to my phone without much issue. However I recently flashed the latest Fresh ROM and have no data connection. I know its not the ROM itself because I nandroid restored back to 3 different ROMs and still cannot connect.
I upgraded and downgraded my PRI and Radio to various versions but still no luck. So next I called Sprint and asked them to reactivate my phone thinking that it would reset the connection and fix my issue. They asked me to type in ##(somenumbers)## which rebooted my phone and brought me to the hands-free activation screen. Not only did this not work, but I fully lost all connectivity. Previously I had a 3G logo that wasn't lit up, but my phone was able to download "some" data at very slow speeds. Now no 3G logo and no connection.. (idk why I called sprint?!?)
I figure loosing root and installing the latest OTA should fix my problem. So I initially tried the method described in the forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743192), and got stuck at a black screen with an HTC logo. My HBOOT number changed to 0.93.0000 but im still rooted.
Next I downloaded the latest ota through my phone via wifi, but the install process fails about half way through. So now I'm thinking that if I downloaded the latest unrooted ota to my PC and flashed to the ROM I could lose root that way.
Solution?:
What are your thoughts? Do you think going back to stock unrooted android will fix my issue?
I truly appreciate ANY help you can give me. I'm completely "lost" without a working phone!
THANKS!!!

Do this first, update your PRL and Profile, always do this when you update the radio.
Then if that does not work, proceed with the steps below.
Do the nandroid restore, I would hope you are using ARMON RA b/c it backs up your WIMAX(wimax.img). Get you phone working again then focus on the the
radio(s).
I had a buddy at work who flashed CleanROM to his phone today at work, he had stopped by my desk and asked me why the phone wouldn't detect his service. I looked and the phone was showing that their was no radio/service. I used Clockwork to flash the ROM again using factory wipe as well as clearing the cache and still had the same issue. Is their a way that I can just install the default radio driver to the phone? I had him try to flash the STOCK ATT ROM for the note 2 back to his phone and still no luck. Gives a message saying that it cant detect the sim? or something to that extent. Any help would be great, thanks ahead of time.
Edit: I also wanted to add that the SIM was working fine before the phone was flashed with CLEAN ROM. There after it no longer worked.

Dunno about your predicament really but in the cleanRom 1st post there is a link to Scotts website where there is a newer modem from the newest ATT OTA update you could try to flash and see if that helps at all. Also I don't know if you tried to take out the sim and put it back in(while the phone is off of course). You would be suprized how many times that has solved radio issues before because sometimes a phone gets bumped just right. In this phone the sim card slot is spring loaded like the micro sd slots.Just a couple ideas for ya.
Alright got a question and I've tried everything I can think of here. I was running santod's tiKtaK and wanted to give his new 4.4.2 ROM a try. I installed it using the latest TWRP. TWRP restarted on me once but reading though the forum I should just try to install it again which I did. It installed and I got it to boot up. The only thing is now I have no Mobile Network signal or anything. Everything else works fine. I have no network, no signal strength, no phone number or IMEI listed in the phone. I have tried pulling the SIM Card and rebooting I have tried *#*#4636#*#* to change settings and all a no go. The thing is if I flash back to my other rom everything is there and working. Any suggestions?
I am having the same issue. Did you find any resolution? Or can anyone provide some insight?
Okay so i have the T-Mobile Galaxy s3. It has been rooted for a while with zero problems. I got tired of the older android on it and decided to install a rom. I installed Cyanogenmod 13.0-20151208-unofficial-d2tmo running android 6.0.1. When i first got it all booted and loaded with gapps, i noticed that it recognized my sim and that i had a signal but i couldn't use any LTE or just all around data. basically i couldn't go online (in case i just didn't explain that well enough. Phone service is a mystery to me). I did some searching online and found a lot of people saying that i needed to update my baseband. i found a baseband for my model (T999) and tried to flash it in TWRM. Once i rebooted, it said "No SIM card - No service." in the upper left-hand side. i have tried flashing multiple different basebands the same way with no luck. i tried backing up my EFS folder and the restoring it because someone said to do that and that just... just no... it didn't do anything. even Odin 3 said it was a "FAIL!". So here i am with this android equivalent to an Ipod and i hate this. Everything else in this ROM works perfectly aside from this but this is a super big problem. PLEASE HELP!!!! A phone isn't a phone if you cant even send a text.
Did you update the phone's bootloader and modem to the latest version before flashing CM?
Hey All,
So I've had issues with my phone where I rooted it and messed it up to the point where it no longer registered on any networks (tried several providers here in the UK). A few days back trying to get it up and running I managed to get it registered on the network (this after reloading various software versions, some failing some not). After powering it off and back on again with my primary sim, I was back to no network (I have two A70s). Swapped SIMS back (powered phone off) and again, no network.
This morning, I started again (Installing TWRP and was planning to root again):
- Flashed stock firmware using ODIN.
- Unlocked bootloader.
- Flashed vbmeta.tar (v3.3.1-5 from Grarak).
- Rebooted, wiped data/cache
- Rebooted, started going through the setup and noticed it was on the network! (have not flashed TWRP recovery).
I'm reluctant to power off again and wondered if there's anything I can do now whilst it's working and registered, making calls etc. The reason being, I've got 5 days before I can return the other A70, if not, I'll be stuck with 3 O2 contracts
Besides the usual backup (Google/Samsung/) - is there anything I should do via ADB? It's not rooted and TWRP is not installed, I've literally just flashed vbmeta.tar from Grarak's TWRP post....
did you try installing a custom rom. i am on havoc os n i own A70FN. i believe havoc works on A70F/FN/Q. the only issue it has is of fingerprint and volte but since i don't lock my phone that's not a problem for me.
other than that the rom is stable no reboots no crashes or anything. so maybe try a custom rom just make sure ur model is supported. n besides even if u r afraid of rebooting there's bound to be a day that the phone would need a reboot.
So i say go ahead root it, install a custom rom.
also i remember having this sim issue myself. my sim worked in all the sets at my home except the A70.
i had to get a new sim n it just started working.
Try some other sim in your A70.
Also rooting shouldn't cause such a problem. from my experience i believe its something else.
i have rooted several phones n never got a network issue. i even messed up the the rooting process on the A70 n either ended up with a bootloop or occasional system crash but no network issue
