Returns / Replacements / Refunds - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

I have recently returned my Find 7a for a refund due to the 'yellow screen' issue and wonder what experience people have had with returning their phones to Oppo.
I find their Customer Service pretty slow to respond, but are generally good when they do. I sent mine back on 23rd May and not heard since, so wonder if anyone has managed to get a replacement, or a refund and if so how long it took?

I also send mine back on 23.5 (from germany), delivered on 27.5.
Yesterday i ask, about the next step.
Today i get this answer from Oppo:
>I would like to inform you that we are now able confirm the arrival of your device.
>However, we regret to let you know that the Find 7a is currently out of stock
> in Midnight, therefore we are unable to send the replacement right away.
>We would like to offer you two options; you may wait for new stock to
>arrive which will take a few weeks, we have the White instock
> or request refund for your order so once
>we have it in stock you can place a new order.

Are you both the original buyers, I've got mine off eBay and device seems to have screen sensitivity problems, misinterpreting between swipes and taps, I'm wondering if they'll replace it?

This was a bug but has been fixed by update 0530. If you haven't got it yet, try changing touch and hold delay to medium or long in accessibility setting. The problem will go away.

No, i have buy it from first purchaser. When i read the warranty right, only the second year of warranty is only for the first purchaser.
My "new" is now in shipping status, but now i read from other that the dont fix the yellow tint display... but iam wait and see when my was arriving.
When it has the same faulty display iam send it back agin and then i want back the money.

I've got touch screen issue it's very annoying. What's yellow tint?
I've had mine for a month but want to return due to touch issues and battery drain, it sucks.

The yellow tint is something that many users are noticing. The bottom portion of the display has a yellow tint to it. Most users that notice the yellow tint say that's it's most noticeable it the bottom left. It seems like most, if not all, phones are affected with the yellow tint to varying degrees. Oppo has stated publicly that it is a backlight issue and that it will be resolved. However users who have received replacement phones are still reporting a yellow tint. As your touch screen and battery issues, those are most likely software related. If you want to know for sure flash Gummy or OmniRom. To test the touch screen go into developer options and check the "Show pointer location" option. Drag your finger all over the screen. If your touch input is lost then the trail will stop and start anew. I would consider waiting to have your unit replaced. People who just got a replacement from a new batch are still reporting display issues. If you can't perceive the yellow tint then you are one of the lucky ones. I sent my back for the yellow tint and my replacement is on it's way back. I will post to this thread when I receive it.

I send back my first device with the yellow tint, the new one (build 19.05.14) comes last week and it was worse then the first one.
The picture is from my first device, please notice that my camera wasnt good enough and in reality it was more visible as you see on the picture

My Oppo find 7a was an ebay buy - and man o man - It had all sorts of troubles - auto-reboots, bluetooth issues, screen sensitivity issues - ghost taps - and yellow screen. I had to file ebay claim to return it.

Is build quality that bad?
I was excited about this phone, but after reading through all the problems in this thread i'm concerned.
Would you guys still recommend this device ?

I absolutely do not recommend this telephone there is nothing that you cannot do with any cyanogen mod enabled devicewhat additionally the quality control has been horrible, save some money and get a note 2 or 3 if you want hd

I can recommend it but agree that main steamer might want to stick to different devices due to the stock experience being quite a bumpy ride for newcomer to the whole flashing scene.

I do not recommend this device becauseeee
1- Compare to the average price i.e. 450 give or take 25 bucks - you can get a T-Mo Note 3 - which is a much more capable device.
2- The quality issues on this device are atrocious.
3- The return experience is unpleasant.
4 - This device is unlikely to get as much support and accessories as Note 3 is. The only thing this device does better is "knock knock" on - which you can simulate with an S-Cover.
I am sorry - the quality of this phone as really turned me off

Thanks for your honest opinion. This device had so much potential, but obviously it's not quite there yet.

[Q] Dilemma over HOX issues

Dear members,
I would like to know the truth behind the issues faced by the HTC one X, which I read in many websites across the internet(and few here).I'm expecting a truthful reply from current users.
I was decided to get one for me untill last week, but the issues what I read for one X confused me.The issues that I came across was;
over heating(guess its obvious for smart phones)
Wi-fi issues(death grip issue)
screen/display flickering,
yellow spots on display,
Frequent black screens,
Restart troubles,
Music player issues(when music player stops when gallery is used)
Taiwan made phone's facing issues over Chineese made ones.
I would really appreciate if someone could give me their honest review of Htc One X and
help me decide whether to buy it or not.
Kindly address these issues ASAP, as I had already made up my mind to go for HOX, so that I can buy one with relaxed mind...
I cant think of any other smartphones as of now.
Looking forward to your responses and future phone
debates on this forum.
Thanks in advance

My first HOX was returned because of the screen flicking issue. Replacement is totally perfect and not had any issues with it at all. The phone gets hot after about 10 mins of continuous use but that is expected.
On the other hand my Dad just received he's One X and that has the Screen Flex issue on the left hand side. I didn't mention it to him as to be honest he prob wont notice but it just goes to show that recent batches still have this issue.
Overall Im really pleased with the phone and if you are unlucky enough to receive a faulty one then you usually have 28 days from the day you receive it to get a replacement sent. After that it's a trip to the HTC Repair center.
The only problems I have had are overheating (all the time, but I don't mind as the phone is powerful and I expect it to get warm) and the yellow marks on the screen, but they went away after a day and I haven't seen them at all (not even the tiniest bit)..

Yeah my first HOX was dysfunctional too (camera issues, a big 'stripe' when opening the camera app), so I went back to the shop to switch my phone for a new one. So far so good, no problems with my 2nd HOX.
I'm in your same situation I want to buy the one x but all this issues scare me, I think I'm gonna wait for at least two months and then get it, hoping to get a new batch, i cannot exchange it since I would be importing from amazon

yes but the above link doesnot show how to find the wifi problem before buying it. the hardware issue. any way to detect that. also what if the phone has a default battery. i cant ask the retailer to lend me the phone for a week to test. this doesnt happen in my country man. i am also afraid to to buy the HOX. today i held both HOX and S3 in my hand. and HOX looked so damn fuking good. but still very afraid to buy one.

you do not need to take the phone away to test it. you can test it there by switching it on and playing with it for a few minutes and check for any screen issues ie(flickering) or regarding the wifi you should not have any problems. is this job you buying it from are they are a well known shop were you can trust them to take it back if anything gets wrong with it?
just try and connect to a wifi connection in the store and ask the retailer if it is ok to see if that is working..
actually even better tell the retailer your fears about the One X and ask him if there has been any issues with it and he would be probably the best person to answer all your questions..
if you are still worrying about wifi though there are a few threads here in the general section which you can read upon..but i will tell you this i never had any issues with regarding wifi

Check out my thread here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721727
My advice is that if you really prefer the One X over the S3 (which I guess would be your other choice) wait a month or so for these issues to be addressed. HTC is getting a lot of bad press because of these issues and sooner or later the company has to deal with them.
I did a Google search today for S3 build quality defects and surprisingly there were just one off cases..nothing as major as the WiFi death grip issues, the screen flex issue, the overheating or the yellow spot issue! Thats way too many defects for any device. If you are going to be investing a good 36k wait back and let it pass.

As you said, I think its better to wait for 1 more month, till HTC sort out these glitches.
I've not tried S3 on hand till now, so I dont know how it is....my default option was HTC one X and I was eagerly waiting for its launch. But these issues really let me down...its like taking a huge risk as of now..so lemme wait and get it...sometimes anticipation is sweet when you are sure of outcome(Hope HTC rectify the issues)

Hey buddy,
here in India the story is entirely different.the retailer will have a display piece in their showroom, and the customer is allowed to use that alone for verification.
And once the customer buys the new one, and if he finds issues out if the box, the retailer wont take any responsiblities.
They will ask us to go to HTC service center, which will be miles away. The retailers really sucks in this matter here, and for the customer, its like trial and error.....

Try the S3 in the meanwhile..spend some time with it. S3 put me off primarily because of the looks.. Other things apart, One X is a more premium looking phone and for me this is a very important factor. Keep visiting your nearest retailer and see if the SH25 or HT25 series has arrived. This batch seems to be the best of the lot .. Holding back a month or so will really pay off in the end.

I have One X and I'm really happy with this beast ! No Problem at all
Very Fast, Huge Screen with unbelievable quality (Tegra 3 games are soo perfect), before i Had GS2 Note iPhone4 GS1, Evo3D etc... but this phone is simply amazing...
I had Overheat with some games on GS2 too... so i don't think this is an hardware issue (my opinion), Music quality is brilliant, camera is very very fast and many opportunities (HDR, Panorama, Slow motion record etc).
The only thing that i would say this phone is poor, is battery, it's not too bad, not too good ... In future we will have customs Kernels so i don't mind...
Hope I helped you

I've been waiting for 3 weeks now, impatiance is growing inside me, but i guess its wise to wait n watch for another 1 month..:-(
Do you any info, wheather HTC have responded officially regarding these glitches...will they cover all issues through the updates alone or any fresh batches of HOX can be expected?
Also, is it possible to know the batch name/code, from the box itself(without opening the box), if yesm kindly let me know how...

I am sure HTC is looking into these issues very seriously. They are getting a lot of bad press. When I went to the service center yesterday, I met 4 people who had different problems related to WiFi, over heating, display etc.
There is a way to identify the batch. There is a white label on the box that states the device's IMEI number and serial number (S/N). Look out for the serial number.. if it starts with a "SH25" or "HT25"..you should be good to go!

That info abt S/N was really helpful.
I talked with a retailer over here, and they informed me they are having SH25 black model in stock currently.I guess the SH25 is Chineese model...
lemme go there, once again have the demo piece in my model, gotta check all the things acco to the thread which showed "how to check HOX while buying"...
BTW what du think about SH25...??
I think the recent batches of the One X have relatively lesser to no issues. The death grip will be resolved in the future batches and so the ones now in the Market will most probably have it.
Other than that, the heat is obvious, but you can't play games while charging as the battery gets over heated. Also the screen flickering issues and all other issues have been resolved in the new test build 2.05 and that will be coming to us with some more improvements as well pretty soon. So most of the issues are resolved as well... I think you can go for it... You will not regret it.....
One issue is that you will face is the battery backup is not as good as the S3 but you can get through easily one day with moderate use.
Moderate Use: 3G data on full time, Auto Sync ON, FB whatsapp chatting youtube and so on for 1 hour(3G usage), calls for 1 hour, music for 2 hours.
I feel this is the best device on the market despite what the S3 lovers say... She is a beauty....
Update: I have not checked for the deathgrip issue as 90 percent of the time my phone is on 3G and I have little screen brightness adjustment bug visible when the brightness is really low.. But otherwise no issues what so ever.... I am having the HT24 model and no issues other than the deathgrip.

can you pls tell me from where you bought your HOX(retailer n address)..
I'll checking out once again the demo model from the retailer in coming days, i'll keep you guys posted what I obvserved....

SH25 should be good... i think you can go ahead and buy it.. just dont root it and use it as much as possible for a good 7 days... just in case you face any issues declare the phone DOA by going to your nearest HTC service center within 7-14 days of purchase (earlier the better).. then you can get a replacement from the store that you brought the phone from.. alternatively just ask for a credit note from the store and wait out a month for the storm to pass
Although its very unlikely that you will face any issues with the SH25 model..Good luck!

That was quite a read and looks promising, I do see some posts what are a bit of a second thought but I'm not sure if they're iphone fanboys.
- GPS?
- Wi-Fi?
- Screen Flickering? (Seen this one quite a few times on the internet)
- Overheating (Seen this one a lot too)

Hi. I have had iphone 3gs, iphone 4, iphone 4s, galaxy s2 and now HOX and it is the best I of all those (it was kind of lousy at software at the start , laggy and awful battery) but the recent upgrades have made it super smooth and very decent battery wise. Hands down has the best screen ever, easily beating the Galaxy S3 and beating the iphone 4s by a hair (better whites IMHO). The phone is super smooth, screen is AMAZING, gps works great, is stylish.
However, make sure you can easily return your phone in case some of these show up :
- Weak wifi signal, know production issue on early batches, it is a design flaw.
- Yellow spots on screen
- Flickering on screen
I think those are the most common issues you might face. If you think a return/exchange will be difficult, I would advise you buy the SHS3 or iphone 5.
What potential issues (that has not been mentioned already on the board) would you like to have mentioned to suffice your need?

True but with some devices there are issues what plague the entire model and I'd rather avoid phones which are bug happy.

I think those are the most common issues you might face. If you think a return/exchange will be difficult, I would advise you buy the SHS3 or iphone 5.

Thank you very much for your lovely reply, the yellow spots and flickering wouldn't bother me that much but a weak-wifi would be a problem as I'd be using wi-fi a hell of a lot, however you mention it was in early batches so I would assume it wouldn't be the case in a newly purchased one but yeah warranty returns/exchanges would be fine so I could get them resolved fairly easy.
You might of just convinced me to buy a HTC One X

Wifi is normal, it weakens when you block the edge on top of the phone with your hand. Normally it is good

That's why I'm asking this question.

I think all issues software wise have been fixed with the 2.17 update, the only thing that's left ,I mean if you develop the fault, is Wi-Fi signal for me it got weaker couple of metres from modem and the gap that the screen has where dust is gathering,I send it to repair , should get to repair center today, believe me or not I had 4 hoxes , all were faulty which pissed me off big time , so switched to gs3 but missed the hox after 1 month ,so I bought another one and guess what ? It has the issues mentioned above ,I like to think that I'm unlucky but I think the problems with hox are widespread and HTC should have done the descent thing and issue a recall

The dust issue wouldn't be a problem at all for me, if it got severe enough I'd open it up myself and clean it out. I have a few spare Void stickers laying around but yeah a lot of fixes seemed to come with the 2.17 update by a lot of peoples feedback.
My next thing to find and decide is what tablet should I get? I might try my luck with a Windows 8 RT Tablet because the ASUS Transformer TF700 (Infinity) seems to have it's only array of issues which are really really putting me off, I already had a TF201 what was fault crazy.
I personally wished that i had bought an S3/Note2/nexus-phone now, latest JB Sense roms are only available for certain devices with specific CIDs, others with CIDS not on the list will have to wait for the official update.
Screen:
Brilliant, bright, clear & solid
me:
I run at the lowest setting to save battery -_-
I have a screen protector on mines after scratches showed up, so it doesn't feel as silky smooth.
Battery:
Poor.. with careful management you can get good results but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a top end device right?
me:
I carry an external usb charger now, only viable solution for days when you need to have your phone run all day and more.
Storage:
I can live with the ~28GB usable space but who doesn't want more? microsd would be awesome.
If my phone dies (my previous desire just started having the 7 vibrate problem/dead mobo problem) there's absolutely no easy way to recover the data.
Sending it off to HTC will only result in the device getting repaired/wiped + charge for having it rooted right?
me:
dropbox sync/regular backups
..what are the benefits of rooting again?

I dont have wifi problems since my router is on ground level and i live on seccond flor i still have 2 solid bars without speed drops, dont have dust issues too. But if you happen to have something like that trust me you wont be opening it since ih has unibody without screews. You must unglue it wich is not easy task. All that is covered in waranty if it does happen. And jellybean comes soon to and trust me it runns lot better than on s3 . since i have acces to both phones. And for tablets i must say , dont go for windows. Android is much better and i think apps are better.

No problem, good luck with it! It is an amazing phone, after 6 months of having it I would say it is the best one I have ever had. It takes amazing photos too.
I have discovered one thing with Android phones, you need to work a little to get the most of them, customize them the way you like, do a little research to optimize its speed and battery, nothing out of this world but thats why I always end up recommending the iphone to my non-techie friends and family. I remember how much I hated my SGS2 at first and how I could not let go of it before I sold it!
One last piece of advise with the HOX though, do get a case for it that protect the screen edges, I dropped mine and because the glass goes to the edges it broke easily and getting a replacement screen is very time consuming!

It is a stupid design flaw, I opened mine and repaired it in 10 min (the wifi antenna needs to be lifted up a little). However, I dont recommend doing that . I did it only as a last recourse as I am out of warranty and there is no HTC service center in my country.
Apparently this has been fixed on recent batches. However looks like the old damaged batches are still plentiful and are still being sold.

All those points are valid kenny.
I don't have a problem with storage as I only need it for photos and a little for music, heck I'd be fine with 8GB, this is huge for me.
Keeping the screen at low brightness (even at 0%) isn't a huge deal to me because the One X's screen seems to be quite a bit brighter than say the one on iPhone 4S (I remember seeing that in a tech article/YouTube video). Which means it'll still look beautiful regardless of how low you set the brightness (and upping it a bit when exposed to direct sunlight won't be a huge deal for the battery).
As for the battery - seeing as how this charming device wants you to keep using it - it leaves a lot to be desired:
The bad:
-it's non-removable; this fact alone scares me to this day...after a year or two it might become unusable and I'm not sure I'll be able to replace it anywhere in my country
-you won't get more than 4hrs screen-on time if you keep switching the apps and menus, browse the internet or play games
-when you know that the battery will seldom last over a day if you use the phone, you'll never feel a lot like gaming, which just halves the battery life
The good:
-reading on the One X, which is simply a lovely experience at 312 dpi, is quite possible for 6 hours while making a few calls and sending a few texts, and having your battery last through the day
-the stand-by time is impressive
-phone calls and music don't seem to use up a lot of juice on this phone at all
One more thing to note is that although this phone is a beauty without a match, it is slippery as hell and without a case, you're bound to drop it sooner or later, and then it will most likely shatter. Personally, I take the case off when I'm home and hold it carefully, and put it back on when I go outside.

Oppo Find 7a - Builds affected by the Yellow Tint

** Oppo Find 7 Yellow Tint (towards the bottom edge of the phones screen) **
Oppo China have made an official statement over customer concerns that the screen on the Find 7 and Find 7a has a yellowing issue.
Customers in China have been complaining to Oppo about yellowing Oppo Find 7 screens for weeks and now with many customers complaining that the issues are due to faults in the phone, Oppo have finally made an official statement concerning the matter.
According to Oppo their are two issues which are concerning Oppo Find 7 owners. The first is that many owners of the Find 7a have found the screen to appear more yellow along the bottom edge of the phone. Oppo claim the reason for this is due to more intense light in this area meaning the light does not display uniformly across the panel and are offering to test (and if necessary) replace phones.
The second issue affects the Oppo Find 7 (2K model) with customers complaining that the colours on the screen are more yellow and less realistic than those on the Find 7a. Oppo have said that they have released a software update which fixes this.
Those of you that seem to be affected by this issue.
Do go about posting the build date of your phone, so we can repository on which builds are affected :good:

I don't have the yellow tint issue but very happy that Oppo is listening. Makes my job recommending this phone to friends a lot easier. My only bug is the touch sensitivity of the keyboard input. Getting a llot of double letters.

I really do hope they sort out all the bugs. This will be the next device I go out and purchase. It's a great device, especially with the 3000mah battery.

Agreed.
The 7A costs around £330 which is a bargain compaired to the s5 and HTC one M8 £500+
The oneplus one is almost impossible to buy right now. The speakers on the device have been described as weak, and low.
As a brand I would rather trust oppo

Agreed. They should have learnt the first time.
Ultra pixel flopped badly, no way in the 21st century will a 4mp camera beat 12mp camera.
HTC Sensation purchased - one month later (WiFi death grip reported)
HTC one X purchased after a year - same again later reported to have the same WiFi issue.
Cursed.
Silly question I know but where do I find the build date of my phone?
Also do oppo use seperate batch numbers and if so where do I find it.

So you have yellow tint or not? Mine is 2014.04.27. No tint.
Yes. Lower 10 to 15mm of screen.
Tried burn in at full brightness for a couple of hours
with no change to screen. I only notice it on mainly
white screens but it dose not bother me.

I had the yellow tint on HTC One X ages ago. If you pressed on it, it would go away but it came back when you let go. Might be a similar thing happening here, but not when it's brand new.
Mine was build date 2014-04-23 and have the tint. I sent it back and wait Now for a replacement

Yeah neither do I.
I also think it may be because of the capacitive buttons backlight as I think I am seeing the yellow portion
of the screen getting slightly darker when the buttons are backlit.

I know what you mean. I had to send in my butterfly s to change the camera. No phone for two weeks and had to use a dumb phone. Couldn't even send an sms on it. Smartphones really have become an integral part of our lives.
My yellow tint has gone away! I play a lot of games so the phone has heated up a bit a few times... Maybe that fixed it?

I've just got a reply from OppoStyle Europe and they said, that "the new batches are 100% guarantee against the yellow tint issue" I'll send mine back tomorrow... If OPPO really fixed it, the Find 7a would be just the perfect phone.

My Oppo Screen is genuinely faulty - Dim Screen

EDIT - UPDATE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57408758&postcount=25
So before getting into this - I want to share my video that demonstrates it:
I bought a second Oppo Find 7 (both were directly bought from Oppo Style) and now the second one (my mum's) has, as I had feared a brighter screen - that's also more "true" in colour.
Now let me get a few things straight with everyone:
-Both are running stock ColorOS
-Both were on 100% brightness
-Neither had power saving features
-Neither have any "adjust brightness for screen features enabled"
-Both have stock screen protectors on (with or without it, it's the same issue)
-Both were checked in terms of "colour temperature" via the engineer menu
-Both were bought brand new from Oppo Style EU
Now I just wanted to put this out there for a few reasons:
1. For people in the same situation
2. For Oppo to see this
3. For me wanting to inform people
I should state I love the performance and design etc of the Oppo - and on my mum's phone I love the brightness.
My phone however is faulty and previously to making any video or posts, Oppo Style already offered a repair/replacement. I just wanted to wait until I was sure it was the phone and not my eyes.
I guess my eyes have been trained after all those PC monitor reviews I do on YouTube. Glad I wasn't wrong, but disappointed and saddened that I was right in my initial judgement - I now have to send the phone and be without my Find 7 for X amount of days.
Pictures are attached - again all phone's in the pictures are all at 100% (incl my Samsung S3) - and it should be pretty obvious which Oppo is mine and which is my mother's
-Dubbed
So why are you posting this if OppoStyle already offered you a replacement BEFORE you even posted this?

Inform them of what? There's nothing to inform them of. A defect occurred (this thing happens) and the seller offered to replace your unit.
The only case where this might be informative is if you had a defect and they refused to replace it.

Nope!
I guess you don't understand the difference between complaining and informing.
I'm not complaining about anything here - happy to see Oppo respond (let's see if they replace it) - I would be complaining if they:
1. Didn't respond
2. Didn't replace
3. Not care
It's clear Oppo care about it and are ready to look into it.
I'm informing people - because I've previously read people say the same thing - whereas before others would reply:
-"It's just how the screen is, due to it being IPS"
-"Change the colour gamma"
-"Change ROM"
Now this proves there are some phones out there (ie mine) that just don't have a bright display and are naturally flawed. :good:
I'm also not quite sure about the purpose of your replies - are you here to say something?
It's clear it didn't "help" you.
Anyways, mine had the yellow tint and I had it warrantied and oppostyle told me that Oppo doesn't make the midnight version anymore so I chose the white one (yay, the one I wanted lol), and after about a month and a half I finally got my phone back (took more time due to holiday in Hong Kong and them making a mistake with the address). The new phone is excellent, the screen is better than the other, looks awesome now, it's really bright, crisp, great color accuracy, and has that nice bright IPS look to it (not sure how to explain lol).

Well let's see - I've sent it today (30/10/14) - should arrive to them within a day.
Right so a small update:
I've asked Oppo to refund the postage and if they would be providing a new screen protector on the phone and they've tactically been ignoring my email....
By that I mean they've responded to the email (I've asked them 4x now) and each time they've ignored it.
They should have received it by now.

Their (OppoStyle's) customer service is bad. They get the job slowly done but forget about details. They don't have much training and don't know how to provide proper customer service. They take time to answer, they ignore some questions, they're not detailed at all, they don't admit they're wrong until it's too late, and they keep asking you to provide the same attachments even though you've attached something in a previous message more than once (they're not proactive and won't go searching on their own much). After complaining to them about improving their customer service, one of them actually told me that they have excellent customer service because they answer within 24 hours (which is not always true at all), so they seem to think that that's all there is to it :/.
In my jobs, I have to answer clients within 2 business hours.
Anyways, to solve your worry, your new phone will have a screen protector applied (mine and others did). They will only refund the postage once they ship your product back to you and you receive it and confirm to them that you have received it (either using the tracking they'll give you or take a picture of the package and its labels). They'll only refund up to 30 USD.
Funny, you're asking similar questions as the ones that I asked, and I'm sure others asked also. They should REALLY have an FAQ or at least tell us beforehand that we only get refunded when it's shipped back to us. *Sigh*..
Try to ask to speak to Jackie Evans, she was the nicest one! (Something tells me these are all fake names though lol, not sure though, I had about 5 people handling my case, that's terrible, they'll get confused).

thanks for responding to me!
Yeah makes sense - that's the thing - recently a youtube subscriber asked me over facebook if I would recommend the Oppo find 7 - I told them: Just wait until I get my phone back, then I'll let you know.
The oppo has great hardware, but the fact that it comes in at the same price as the LG G3 and can't be easily returned just begs the question.
Anyway - I just want my phone working as it should do. I hope it doesn't take them long.
And yeah - I feel it is fake names too lol.

I really want to recommend Oppo but their software has bugs and they're unable to fix them all. The hardware is good, I like it, though the lens of the camera is a bit inferior because it's not edge-to-edge crisp like the G2's lens even though the quality is great and I prefer it over the G2. The phone is too long though and they need to stop making them that long. LG did a great job with the G2 and G3.
You'll get your phone back and if you get the same screen as I got, you'll love it.
I miss having an IR blaster though =(.

Oh wow! that's not cool. Oppo uses different LCD displays and I suppose you didn't get the good one =(. Will you ask for a refund?

What did you end up doing?

Three replacements and four phones in thirty days. . .

So the first phone was new and had crackling speakers. Second phone that was sent to me was refurbished and had a smudge underneath the screen so it wasn't cleanable unless I opened the hw. Third refurbished phone had a glass gap between the screen and the base of the phone, so there was bleeding light coming from the back of the phone. Now T-Mobile is sending me a fourth refurbished (most likely) phone.
All the replacements seen to be refurbished.
Imagine. . .I played for S-Off each time and a screen protector each time. That's around $140 ($25x4 + $10x4) USD just on replacement bs.
Anyone else having these issues?
I unrooted, restored stock ota, re locked, and re s-oned the first two devices (fourth device is coming 6/1/15) to restore original (warranty) status despite all these issues being hardware related. Keep in mind I'm no newb to phones.

If you are not new to the phone section, you would not pay for s-off everytime before you check the phone for defects or whatever. So you could save a lot of money,
if you check your device with Pixel test and eyes before you set it s-off
Other then that, i do not have any problems with the phone. Its a huge improvment from m7 build quality to m9.

I already checked for defects. However it was only noticeable during the night. As for the smudge, it can be taken off with a microfiber, however once the oil of the skin touches the screen it comes back. All of these were freak incidents.
Pixel test has nothing to do with my problems with the phones as I have no dead pixels.
Like I said, definitely very aware of my phone and its uses. I've had every phone out there and do numbers of different ports for audio. So its not like this is my first rodeo.

nope i saw tons of M9 go and come back with no issues, except clicky speakers and the company in here is not covering that, even some iPhone units suffers from something similar
state your country please

T-Mobile is very generous as they credited me $60 at no hassle or haggling. They've sent me several replacements with no hassle. However they said if the third replacement they send me is defected, they'll allow me to choose a swap of the M9 for another phone. . .which is not what I want because I like this phone.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues getting a unit without defect. I ordered my developer edition phone a few days after it was available and it showed up in perfect condition. I had read about issues regarding gaps at the screen and body, and a "clicky" area at one of the screen boundaries, however my phone was free of all of those. My old M7 had one pixel that would only display in white, but I kept it and was very happy with it.
Bottom line - I hope you get an M9 that you are happy with, because this phone is awesome. As hamdir notes in the sticky thread at the top, the upcoming firmware update brings great improvements to daytime camera performance and battery performance. HTC continues to show themselves as a company dedicated to delivering a great experience for their customers.

That's all good and stuff. . but it's the hardware that is failing this device. All these defects. Don't get me wrong, I love my phone. However this is not okay for me and shouldn't be acceptable for anyone else.
I just want my phone to work as intended.

You appear to be the exception and not the rule with regard to defective M9s. If you hold out for an M9 that meets your standards, I think you'll be very pleased with the device. Good luck!
I ended up with 3 of them at one point. Got to choose between two grey and one gold silver. One of the greys had phucked up speakers. Kept it for a few weeks prior to paying for S off... What kind of momo would pay 25 USD the second they receive the phone. Ended up paying $450 cdn for one after all the credits they gave me for the hassle.

Sounds like me. Hah
I wish I'd sent mine back. Horrid battery and camera experience with this one
If it makes you feel better, I went through 3 Galaxy S6s with defects before I went to the M9. Yeah, I'm not happy with this onr, but it's more the camera and the heat that's ruining my experience. I'm just not sure why the hell you paid for S-Off 4 times. After the first, I would have waited to make sure the phone was FLAWLESS.

Trust me. I did. Until I looked at the phone when it was dark. For now on I'm going to be running tests every time I get a phone.
Is the replacement with T-Mobile or asurion? Or another private insurance..I remember with my wifes note4 they gave us a new phone right there in the store..and it was past the 15 days return policy...but then again it was Verizon not T-Mobile

They do it from asurion for some reason?
Hello boys and girls.
Would you be so kind to explain me how to understand if my htc one m9 is refurbished? Tried ##778# code and it does not work for me. And my phone is not rooted also.
Thank You in advance.
Best Regards,
So the third replacement they sent me (fourth phone) was also defected. So I finally called @HTC and explained to them what happened. They're sending me a new device, not some cleaned up BS used device. The one they will send me is going to be brand new. Good guys HTC (warranty).
