You have to find the ideal settings for you. First of all you have to play with the white balance then a little bit with the exposure value at the end (if you want) you have to set mode ex portrait, macro, landscape etc.
If you don't want to bother with setting the camera you can always have it all in auto.

[Req] Action photo mode

Hello,
in an earlier version of the SIII (or SII i'm not sure) there was a mode in the STOCK camera where you could shoot a photo with a stroboscopic effect. I thought it was called Action mode. When you wanted to make a pic, you had to follow the moving object and then you would get a sort of panorama from a moving object.
I've attatched a example of a pic I made with action mode on my SII 2 years ago.
Is there any way to get that mode back? Because i can't find any apps that offer the same thing. I would like it very mucho!!:laugh:
I'm running a rooted stock 4.2.1 (XXEMB6) if that helps
thanks in advance!!!
Really? No one?
I miss this feature too but on s3 no this mode

I Know:crying: That's why i'm asking if anyone know how to get it back. Maybe a camera mod or an old camera port. I'have no expierience in modding so I have no idea how to do it myself

You can't get S6/S7 quality on a M9 - but you can get M9 quality! Perhaps if you tell us what quality issues you're experiencing and/or what you're looking for specifically, we can help you out.
Also, what app are you using for your camera, and what version of Android to you have installed?

I'm using HTC camera app version # 7.50.686411. My pictures don't stand out and you can hardly tell what the subject is because of it.

Version 7 - sounds like you're still on Android Marshmallow. I wonder if the upgraded app in Android Nougat improves anything.
What are you looking for when you talk about standing out?
I mean the subject seems to blend in the background to almost transparent (no details)

Actually, meant for you to post an example photo so we could see the problem.
I've never had reason to change my camera settings from the default, so apart from troubleshooting the app itself, I'm not going to able to help you much.
You will never get the same quality photos because of the difference in camera technology. If you were viewing the photos on the Samsung too then thats superamoled screens, they're the best by far!.

Camera app recommendations?

Currently I am using the camera app provided by RR N but I am looking for an app that has some quick toggle options to choose between;
1. Normal photos
2. Normal video (configurable resolution somewhere in the options)
3. 720p 120fps video
So the less hassle the better when changing between these options. 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 are ofc standard part of every app but to quickly change from 2 to 3 or from 3 to 2 without going thru any settings would be great. while keeping the image quality as good as possible. I've now gone thru couple of apps without any luck; Snapit, Snapdragon camera, footej etc...
So, any recommendations?

Here is a screenshot of my old phones (Umi Emax) camera app.
Does anyone know any similar apps. It has all the things I need just behind 1 tap. No need to pull up or down some settings or options or quick tiles or anything like that.
Snap camera
$1.99 but the best one by far that I have tried
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap&hl=en
I'm using the Lenovo Camera app after testing and examining the results of about 5 or 6 of the most popular options. Seems to give the least noise in low light and the HDR mode is not too fake or slow. Easy to use.
Can be downloaded from apkmirror:

EDIT: Updated link, now that I'm back on the desktop

What are the mods?
You have to edit build.prop. Before you change the file, save it - just in case! It is located in the system directory. You need to be rooted and need an app like ES File Explorer.
Change:
ro.build.flavor=athene_retasia_ds-user
ro.build.product=athene_uds
ro.product.device=athene_uds
Save the changes and restart the phone.
Start the camera, tap in the bottom right corner the camera icon and voilĂ .
Kudos to pijes!

Video Call on Whatsapp etc

Hello all
I am considering to buy Mi Mix 2 but I am hesitant due to one of its limitation. That is the phone does not re-orient during video call on whatapp and other such apps if you make the phone upside down for better view angle.
I was wondering whether this problem has been fixed in the new MIUI 9 or not? If not then is there any chance in the future? or any other way around?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Anyone?

I read that Xiaomi were in talks with WhatsApp to fix it. Ultimately it's up to them to make it work, not Xiaomi.

WhatsApp does rotate with the phone, it works upside down or in landscape mode. My Mix 2 is under EU ROM 7.12.14

Mine doesn't. Apparently it shows me upside-down when I rotate it. But the normal orientation works quite well actually. I have no issues with the bottom camera at all.

I used it Christmas day and it doesn't rotate, line works fine but good luck getting people to install it ?

Camera takes 3000*4000 resolution images instead of 4000*3000px.

Can anyone verify this?

Are you seriously asking this? Have you tried using landscape/portrait orientations and checking the differences between them?

It only takes 4000*3000px in landscape mode where as my redmi note 7 pro takes 4000*3000 in both modes. That's my doubt.

You know your redmi is weird. The sensor is oriented one way this is the best solution imo
