Camera takes 3000*4000 resolution images instead of 4000*3000px. - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Can anyone verify this?
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/camera-takes-3000-4000px-pictures-instead-of-4000-3000.1129200/

Are you seriously asking this? Have you tried using landscape/portrait orientations and checking the differences between them?

It only takes 4000*3000px in landscape mode where as my redmi note 7 pro takes 4000*3000 in both modes. That's my doubt.

You know your redmi is weird. The sensor is oriented one way this is the best solution imo

You have to find the ideal settings for you. First of all you have to play with the white balance then a little bit with the exposure value at the end (if you want) you have to set mode ex portrait, macro, landscape etc.
If you don't want to bother with setting the camera you can always have it all in auto.

EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization)

Does the note 7 use EIS? I cant find an option to disable it in the camera-settings and it feels wobbly some times.
Any infos on that? S7 and edge had the option to turn it off in the settings.

I'm sure it has OIS.

So does the S7 / edge, but they have EIS on top of that. Just wondering if its the same here, and if so is there a way to disable it?

Video Call on Whatsapp etc

Hello all
I am considering to buy Mi Mix 2 but I am hesitant due to one of its limitation. That is the phone does not re-orient during video call on whatapp and other such apps if you make the phone upside down for better view angle.
I was wondering whether this problem has been fixed in the new MIUI 9 or not? If not then is there any chance in the future? or any other way around?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Anyone?

I read that Xiaomi were in talks with WhatsApp to fix it. Ultimately it's up to them to make it work, not Xiaomi.

WhatsApp does rotate with the phone, it works upside down or in landscape mode. My Mix 2 is under EU ROM 7.12.14

Mine doesn't. Apparently it shows me upside-down when I rotate it. But the normal orientation works quite well actually. I have no issues with the bottom camera at all.

[19/3/19] Working Gcam For Pie!

This thread is aimed to be as simple as possible.
I found 2 apks that worked for me. I created this thread because I'm sick of scrolling through the comments on which one works, and which one doesn't. So, here it is.
*NOTES* All Pixel Gcam mods will have autofocus issues. These don't have any quality degradation from my testings.
1. @fu24 Pixel 2 Gcam v.5.2.025-Final - Everything works. But I recommend to use this only for the front camera.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GoogleCamera_5.2.025-Final_fu24-17f.apk
2. @cstark27 Pixel 3 Gcam P3v10.1 - This is the best in terms of focus hunting, when taking pics, don't tap to focus. Let the app hunt for focus until it's clear. If it won't focus on the object, just switch between portrait and normal mode. Sometimes the pic comes out a bit soft. I'd recommend you to take multiple pics and select the clearest one. Thanks to @Sonudbm for mentioning this apk. The front camera still doesn't work.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/P3v10.1_GoogleCamera_6.1.021.apk
I will update this thread whenever there's a better version(s).
Feel free to leave any comments.

1. @fu24 Pixel 2 Gcam v.5.2.025-Final (Everything works, though I didn't test telephoto lens. Keep in mind this apk doesn't support raw capture.)

2. @bulkin043 Pixel 3 Gcam v.6.1.021_2 (everything works, except green hue on front camera. This apk supports raw capture.)

Maybe this autofocus issue is device dependent. :/

Raw capture gives you vastly more detail than jpeg (or JPG), but with the cost of lower picture quality, it can be fixed by editing the photos. I'd recommend the 1st one, if you don't want all the flashy features. If you night sight mode as well, install the 2nd one along side.

Same here :/
Neither of these updates fix the focus issue with it endlessly refocussing. Does anyone know what the actual issue is with the Mi A1 and Pie? Is a Dev looking into this specifically. This is the only way it'll get fixed. Seems like no one knows it's an issue?
Sorry to say this, but both cameras have focus issues..
Does any one know Whether there is a 9.0 pie custom rom where no focus issue on GCam.
(i won't bother about green tint issue though)
I am still on 8.1 until we get something that works perfectly, do I need to unlock my bootloader and install the Camera 2 API again or that is not necessary?
Sorry to break it to all of you, but I really personally think that this autofocus issue is device dependent. I would recommend you to try random Gcam apks from that site (that's what I did). I think every device would have different apks that works for them.

Haters will say it's wrong!
Hello people!!
There is no GCAM Port of pixel 3 (the one with night mode) that fully works on PIE on MI A1. I have tested every recent version of every developer on the page of Celso Azevedo. In almost every version, all things work, except for portrait mode with front camera (green tint present when HDR enable) This is not what we want, because there is a huge difference between portrait with or without HDR.
The only one version that I find that it is working on portrait with HDR is one for pixel 2 (it hasnĀ“t got night mode) from ARNOVA. The version is: gcam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-v8.3b1.apk. This is my actual camera now.
I hope some developer could accomplish the same but with pixel 3 gcam mod.
Greetings !!!!

This was done using Google camera (GCAM) and I used the open source GIMP to reduce the glare. I forget which version of GCAM I used but it's in the thread lower down.

Well you should've stated that in the first place. I do have an star shot using the stock camera at a 30 seconds exposure but after that reply I don't think ill bother posting it.

You did not state you wanted it from the stock camera as only phones like the P30 Pro has a dedicated 'Starry sky' mode.
