Hi all
I am trying ot load a custom rom on my Diamond using the CustomRUU.exe. But when it is trying to flash it stucks at 0%. Eventually there is a time out error. My Phone starts normally after btw.
So what I tried next was updating my phone to the latest official rom. This worked perfect.
Next I tried to flash the custom rom again (A.Z.T.O.R. and udK Syrius HD R0) and it didnt work (stuck at 0%)
please help! I really want the A.Z.T.O.R. rom to work!

HardSPL?
Look for the internal method to update your ROM...
But first install RUU_Signed_1_93OliNex_HSPL_UnsignedEdition
1. open from your PC the rar or zip archive and extract only the BIG .nbh file
2. rename as DIAMIMG.NBH
3. copy the renamed file into the root dir of your "Storage Card" or "Internal Storage" (the one of 4Gb... NOT to the internal phone memory!)
4. reset your device and within 3 seconds push together the Vol_Down + Back button (the one on the right above the hangup button) and keep pressed until the boot loader appears (the one with the color stripes)
5. soon as you see the bootloader stop to press those poor buttons
6. a very simple gray menu will appear asking you what to do, simple press the power button to perform the ROM/Radio upgrade
7. while the upgrade runs be patient and don't press again the power button, reset the device or play with it until it finishes, when finished a message "UPDATE SUCCESS" will appear, now you can safely reset your device
This must be the 56 time the same question is asked nobody try to read any more nowerdays (start with the sticky ones?)??
Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409425
Thanks a lot, i have read the sticky's but Surfkings post makes it clear thanks

try flashing from internal storage
Try this link, might work.
TRY THIS FIRST........as per cyron_at, and my recommendation. Here are the instructions...
Internal Method of flashing Radio or ROM
1. open from your PC the rar or zip archive and extract only the BIG .nbh file
2. rename as DIAMIMG.NBH
3. copy the renamed file into the root dir of your "Storage Card" or "Internal Storage" (the one of 4Gb... NOT to the internal phone memory!)
4. soft reset your device and within 3 seconds push together the Vol_Down + Back button (the one on the right above the hangup button) and keep pressed until the boot loader appears (the one with the color stripes)
5. soon as you see the bootloader stop to press those poor buttons
6. a very simple gray menu will appear asking you what to do, simple press the power button to perform the ROM/Radio upgrade
7. while the upgrade runs be patient and don't press again the power button, reset the device or play with it until it finishes, when finished a message "UPDATE SUCCESS" will appear, now you can safely reset your device
8. who prefer can perform a hard reset after the fresh cook (soon after reset simply press Vol_Down + Circle button, then when you see another simple gray menu choose Vol_Up to confirm format), even if this has no-sense because internal memory is pre-formatted during flash, but... there is always a but... for some unknown "scientific" reason sometimes an hard-reset can save time & headache
I can't find the file you mention in your reply...
What file are you using?
When you download a rom or a radio the file is always a .nbh file. Put that file and that file only in your Internal Storage (4GB). Not in a folder or anything but in the root of the storage and rename it DIAMING.nbh.
THen follow the instructions in my last post...

but i make an mistake in this step >>
[1.3] Installing Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0
(Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 zip and Gapps zip files required)
You will need to download Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 and Gapps. Put these on your MicroSD card. Now you need to boot into 2nd init recovery. Do this by turning on your phone and pressing the Volume down button when you see the blue status LED light.
Once inside, use the volume up and down buttons to navigate, and the power button to select. Firstly, you can backup here by going to "Backup and restore" and selecting "Backup (all)". Then "go back" to the main menu and select "Wipe data/factory reset". Once this is successful, select "Wipe cache partition". Now you select "Install zip from sdcard" and install Cyanogen first by selecting the file. After this, install Gapps.
Your phone should now start with a red Motorola icon with a wasp stating cyanogen defy 7.1-11 with the LEDs flashing blue and then green before displaying a blue cyanogen mod logo with the swirling animation. This will then lead into setup, meaning your install was successful!
[Note: CM 7.1.0 comes with the latest version of 2nd init recovery]
[1.4] Soft unlocking your Defy
(bp_ptc file and Root Browser Lite required)
Firstly, you will want to backup your system again. To do this, turn off your phone and when it's on the first Motorola logo, press Volume down when the blue LED light flashes. Then select "Backup and restore" and select "Backup (all)".
Then boot back normally and download the bp_unlock file and extract the file and copy the file "bp_ptc" to your MicroSD card and ignore all the other folders and files. Now search for Root Browser Lite in the Market and open it and enable the root features when it asks by pressing "Yes" and allow SuperUser access. Press the Home button on the top left and select "SD card" and look for bp_ptc and highlight it by holding your finger on it and selecting "Copy". Now press on the Home button again at the top and select "Home" and scroll down to system > bin and press "Paste". Now go back to the previous parent folder by pressing the green arrow and select bootmenu > 2nd-init.
Here, look for the file init.mapphone_umts.rc and long press on it and select "Open in text editor" Scroll down until you get to "service usbd /system/bin/usbd" (about 10 medium flicks) and just after it, enter "service bp-ptc /system/bin/bp.ptc user root group root user root" on a line underneath it. Now press the "Save" button.
Bro i Reboot phone and in boot i Choose to install from SDcard with Gapps.zip AND when i see only logo in device, can you see in youtube video.
I hope to have understood
Download one of the latest CM7 nightlys, put out on your sd, go to custom recovery (vol down on let...). There, wipe data/cache and flash the zip. Reboot (if you get stuck for more than 10 min on the turning boot logo, press both volume buttons + power = hot reboot). If you can't boot the second time, just tell. Normally you don't have to do anything to softunlock in CM7.

I followed the inscrutions to soft unlock my defy, but there are a couple of typos in the post on hotukdeals (. instead of _ in the file name):
you need to edit the file to look like this:
service usbd /system/bin/usbd
user root
service bp-ptc /system/bin/bp_ptc
user root
group root
service nvm-daemon /system/bin/nvm_daemon
user root
group radio
Thanks
thank you very much my problem is solved
but I have a question
how tu unlock all networks
Thanks labsin
Have you installed a recent nightly? I thought you didn't have to do anything else. I could be wrong (don't have a locket one).
Please post if it works/doesn't work our you have a question.

Dont worry ! As long as you have a custom recovery, it is fine. You can bring back your mobile alive. All you have to do is to get your phone into fastboot mode somehow. I know you mentioned that fastboot mode is ticked in the settings and you are unable to access that. But never mind, try below steps to see if it works.
1. Download the rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/general/rombackup-t2811252 and place it in your sd-card by following the instructions provided by @jithumon
2. Try restarting your mobile. Just when the screen is off and about to start, press and hold volume down button and then briefly press, power button. If you are lucky, you will get into fastboot mode.
If it doesnt work, try powering off your mobile and then when you try to switch on, hold on to volume down button first and then power button for a brief period and leave both buttons. It should go to fastboot mode.
3. Then select recovery using the volume buttons and hit power button. This will take you to custom recovery.
If by any chance, you find you ruined your custom recovery as well, try installing the phil touch recovery again when you are in fastboot.
4. then go to backup and restore -> jithumons rom and install it.
5. Hopefully your phone will be alive in few minutes.
Getting rid of bloatware.
1. Root your mobile again, if need be.
2. Try installing Rootapp delete (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zsj.android.systemappremover&hl=en
) or System app remover (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en)
3. delete the system apps that you dont like. But remember, doing so you will never be able to get the OTA's. you have to manually install any backups from the xda community like you are doing now.
4. Vola .. enjoy and before you do, hit thanks if the above instructions helped you get your phone alive.

Hi i was charging my htc desire 816 phone and i went back to get it i notice a red light on the signal and i cant turn it on. please how can i turn the phone on again cos i have all my document and important files there.
1-to root it the first thing is to have OEM Unlock available and enabled in Dev Options
if not keep the device fully on and with data on dont restart, power off or reset for at least 7 days continuously (or a bit more) and you should have it
if it's not shown dot bother with the rest
2-to have Dev Menu available go to settings >> about phone >> software information >> on build number tape multiple times 10 times i guess, you will have a pop up confirmation
once back at settings menu you will find a new choice at the very bottom "Develper Options"
3-next step with to plug ur phone with PC with usb cable
after installing SAMSUNG DRIVERS & ODIN and downloading TWRP (custom recovery)
in ODIN 2nd tab, untick "AUTO REBOOT" VERY VERY IMPORTANT
chose the TWRP file using AP button/option in ODIN
put your phone in download MOD power off completely >> power back on while holding vol+ and vol- at the same time
flash the file using ODIN to your phone
4- now here is the tricky part
after fklashing TWRP if you reboot normaly you will be locked again and you wont have that OEM Unlock option i talked about and you will be stuck
so, after flashing TWRP, press vol- + power button to reboot the phone
AT THE VERY PRECISE MOMENT WHEN PHONE TURN OFF BEFORE POWERING BACK ON WHEN IT BLINK
RELEAS POWER BUTTON AND VOL+ and PRESS POWER BUTTON + VOL+ AGAIN VERY VERY QUICKLY
if successful you should boot into TWRP directly
5-once you are in TWRP wipe everything then format the device (ALL DATA WILL BE LOST)
of course you need to have the needed files already copied in the SD CARD
from twrp after the wipe and formatiing
go to install and flash in that order RMM_Bypass_v3_corsicanu or RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2
then no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0
then at the end flash Magisk-v19.3
once its done reboot the phone normally, you will have your phone working as normal
once you are in, install Magisk APK MagiskManager-v7.3.2
reboot again
and voilaaa, you should have root and everything should be functional for you
although of course I will not be responsible for any kind of software or hardware damage, and certainly not responsible for any data loss
as it is completely you responsibility
all files you could possibly need will be in attachments if I can attach them
dd tried but couldnt attach them, so ull have to gather them ur self from previous posts
otherwise everything is in the original post of the owner, i did not add or moded anything, i am not a dev
I just gatherded the infos already shared
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...nuary-t3760975
so big thanks to the original devs for the great work

#1 ans 2 are kinda backwards and #4 is worded pretty badly. Kinda stuck is misleading and doesnt explain what pitfall to avoid. This could do with some edits. I mean this with zero offense and i didnt quote your entire post just in case you do choose to edit it.
I bring this up because your guide was quoted in another thread and caused some confusion especially regarding #4
Perhaps very stupid and ignorant question: after performing step 5 (TWRP wipe everything then format the device- ALL DATA WILL BE LOST), how can I recover all the application data present in the internal memory (which were present before the root) ? Is it enough to have copied the entire internal memory (including the "android and data" folder) and copy it back into the memory or will I have to install all the applications again and redo the entire smartphone setting (wifi, BT settings, menus, etc)? Alternatively, might a Smart Switch backup work?
I really apologize for the ignorance!
