Firmware v. B104
New phone, got it in late December 2012. Handled with great care.
Problem:
Battery icon and battery graph stuck on 50%. Never know how much battery juice I've got left. No warnings, just powers off when it's empty.
Tried:
- Factory reset
- Attempted hard reset, but I'm not sure it worked, 'cause nothing special happened on my screen.
- Completely draining the battery (as an equivalent to removing the battery. Non-removable battery on this one)
I have been looking for firmware updates, but I can't find any for my B104, and if I have understood it correctly, applying an update for the B226 will most probably render my device useless.
I was hoping there was a way for me to be able to fix this without having to send the phone to service. Also, I am quite satisfied with this phone, it is magnificent, so I do not want to root it unless I absolutely have to. :fingers-crossed:
Updated thread:

It also happens on my micromax a60 but I bought a duplicate charger solved...
Or else purchase an original charger in which we have to connect usb
Hope this will help

FRIEND IF I HELPED YOU
HIT THANKS
Thank you so much for your reply.
I have the original charger for my Huawei. Should I connect my phone to my PC using it?
Did the duplicate charger alone fix your problem?
Do you know where can I get my hands on one of these?
Try using it connecting it to PC or go to service center and buy a charger which does not conatain wire and you can insert your USB cable in it to charge
Hope your probelm gets solved as happened to me
No use. The graph and icon stays frozen on 50% power.
I guess I will have to get it repaired. Will probably be sending it off tomorrow unless something amazing happens.
Thank you for your attempt to help me. I appreciate it.

I think go to service center and reflash the firmware the it will get solved or after taking nandoid backup flash any other custom rom
HIT THANKS IF HELPED
Problem solved, after about three weeks without my dear phone.
Service replaced the battery, and claimed to have updated software (I had the newest available software update installed when sending my phone in for service).

Hello people,
I got a GT-i9300 for about 7 months now and since yesterday i got problems charging it.
2 days ago i went to sleep and as always putted it on charge and i saw the charging notification. When i woke up ~8h later the phone was not charged at all and while connected it was not charging.
I tried reconnecting it a couple of times but nothing. I tried connecting it to a pc but nothing. Then i used the charger that came with S4 and after a couple of seconds it started charging, few minutes later it just stopped again. Reconnected it and it was charging, made it to 100% normally.
Today i tried connecting it again but now it won't charge, likewise i won't connect to pc the moment i connect it but after ~5m at least and it's only charging, the pc won't see the phone anywhere.
Also tried another S3 charger but nothing.
I only have official samsung chargers. 2 x s3 and a s4 one. None works on it at the moment while they work normally on my s4.
I tried it turning it off and removing battery but nothing, did a full wipe but still nothing.
The usb itself looks alright plus yesterday when i was charging it i moved the wire around a bit to check if it was the connection but it was not.
I was looking around the web but found nothing and the similar threads here ain't the same as my case.
Also the phone is on official firmware and not rooted.
Does anyone know anything about it ? I will most likely take it to service tomorrow but since i need the phone i would prefer not to have a ~5 days delay from them.
I have the same problem and the only thing that will charge it is a higher voltage playbook charger. I'm not too sure what the problem is but if you do get it serviced could you please post the cause of this issue?

Sadly i don't have a higher voltage charger plus i don't think it's a good idea to use that, at least not all the time.
Will take it for service tomorrow unless i solve it somehow. Will report back with what they will tell me.
I had previously flashed official 4.2 on my s3 but i reverted to the carrier official version, about 2 months ago. Any chance i will have problems with warranty with the flash count being 3 ?
I read that you normally don't have a problem but i want to know if someone had first hand experience with that.

This can very well be a problem. Your best option is to root and reset flash counter with triangle away. After reset, re install original firmware with Odin. If they do warranty fix it, it will be by replacing the motherboard, so if there is anything you need off of it, be sure to back it up on a computer. Also, flashing original with Odin can wipe the device so back up before then. If they look and see a custom flash counter of 3, your warranty will be void.
Alright, took it to service yesterday ( official samsung service ) and got it today. They changed the usb port and all is good, warranty had it covered.
I didn't reset counter before giving it but they either didn't check the counter or checked it and it was not an issue.
hi,
I have a big problem.. yesterday I updated zl 6503 thru pcc to the latest software 10.3.1.A.2.6.7, but when it succesfully finished I could not turn it on..
it was never rooted, I just updated it on 4.2.2 maybe 2 months ago and worked perfectly since
I tried every possible combination with buttons (up, down, power, off) but it just wont boot, just black screen and red light is on or blinking
the battery was 100% when I updated
I tried to repair it in pcc in support but nothing shows, I even updated it again thru sus, but it is always the same..
do you have any idea what it is or what can I do?
thanks
I flashed it but still the same, I think there is problem with charging, because when I plug it to power there is just red light, it wont get orange or green even if phone is plugged for hours
maybe this is why it wont boot..

strange thing happened, I already gave up on it and thinking I should take it to sony, but today I just tried to charge it and it did!
when it's full, I'll see if it works normally
it works perfect, seems like the battery was totaly empty, even though it was full when I did the update..
ok now i have another question, 2 months ago I made a backup (.semc-fullbackup) I have it on my comp, I dont know how to restore that file on my phone? anybody know where to copy it?
hi, still the same issue with ZL..
every time I turn the phone off, I can't turn it on normally.. I have to leave it for few hours and then I can start charging it (bright red led), otherwise it's barely red led.. it is like every time I switch the phone off, the battery gets totally drained, even though it is never under 15%, and I think that is the reason it wont turn on
is it possible that it's battery issue or software? let me say that this happened for the first time when I updated to the latest official rom,
now I flashed it to 4.2.1 and it's the same..
HI, +1 I am experiencing the same problem now. Did my own research here, and found there is a way to deal with this. Be patient and be challenged by the problem as this is the objective I believe of this XDA community. Coming from Galaxy S2 I have experienced difficult issues and was able to solve them knowing and understanding the design, and the configuration of the phone. So am not a total newbie to flashing and custom roms. Anyway I consider myself new to XZL and would like to do the critical solving by understanding first the Sony package because I believe not all android phones are made the same Software wise.
My phone is stock, non rooted with still locked BL (JB 4.2.2), it was acquired from a seller in stock and original software condition as I prefer the UI of Sony. Lately the phone strangely began to reboot for no apparent reason, until it decided to just stop totally, doesn't switch on. It will boot up to the Sony Logo then stops dead, and the only way for me to pass thru this state is when I attach the charger.
There could be two reasons I suspect: 1) Battery is drained (although I'm sure I have enough juice) and as mentioned the charger is needed or 2) Firmware problem.
I'll share details later but based on the above I'm more inclined to focus on the second (Firmware) suspect first. My phone still has both FastBoot and Flashmode so still not bricked. Are you with me?

tnx for reply, my phone is also nonrooted, I only downloaded official sony firmware
but I can't even get to the screen where is sony logo, it's dead completely, so I have to wait several hours (maybe the battery needs, I dont know) and then I can charge it.. but when I turn it off, it wont get on again..
I also thought there is firmware problem, but now I have 4.2.1 again and the problem is still here, so maybe it's not firmware?
Try flashing the .423 or .67 stock rom with the latest flashtool for xperia devices (http://www.flashtool.net/download.php).
Maybe pcc screwed something up. On my old Xperia Neo I had several problems after updating with official Sony tools.

Hi Skyline_slo, just an update of what I have done; 1) I read this "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170" to learn and was able to
make progress on my unit. I drained completely the battery to be able to reset the kernel (took about an hour or so) because from what I have learned on start-up the kernel controls the intial process before the ROM kicks in. So if the kernel has issues, there is a chance that it will reset to default when the power runs down. I was able to successfully reached the red LED state which is the slow charging mode. This state is when the Battery icon with lightning appears on the center of the screen.
Guess what? I was able to boot my unit completely and test the new FW (while attached to the charger) and subsequently made adjustments on the recently flashed firmware (first time by the way using flashtool)
After this, I checked the service condition of the unit using the code *#*#7378423#*#*, and took note of the changes the flashed FW. Then I decided to power down my phone to accelerate the charging time and completely settle the new firmware's adjustments. My hopes are up and high again knowing that the thing is not bricked and just experienced a minor glitch probably the software.
After more than two hours I checked back and switch it on again and to my surprise it doesnt boot, just stock again in the Sony logo. Was a little disappointed but the thing here is, I made progress by ruling out that the ROM has issues, second, that draining the battery will reset the kernel and would lead to completely boot the system. At this point as previously mentioned in my earlier post, my other suspect is the battery so I will work on it today and relay/share whatever I encounter.
hi jun1662,
I'm glad that you're making progress with your unit, because I simply dont have any ideas left what to do with my unit
I flashed it to rom .244 and now I just wont turn off the phone, because I will not be able to turn it on normally again
I'll wait for next update 4.3 and then try if it's any better, but I doubt it
it may be hardware related issue, but why is working perfect when it is turned on?

Update: Definely ruled out software, and made some test related to supply meaning battery, and the result is my battery is defective, it may
provide you with a ample charge but in reality, current is not enough to sustain the requirement display and cores, so it seems the main culprit here is
the battery. Also did my own checking on the other post and inquired on how the problem manifested, and the solution is replace battery.
Going to have my unit serviced for battery replacement, and this is my final actions, if this proves pointless, i'll provide answers tomorrow. Keeping
my fingers crossed.
Okay, I originally got this phone as an upgrade over my HTC Inspire in July. It worked great, minus a few random reboots every once in a while (if I left it in my pocket for a long time or if it was really hot in my car it would do this, but that was it). Then, about a month or two ago, I rooted it and installed a custom ROM. I noticed that a bunch of my files were missing from my internal SD card, but I wasn't too worried about it. Then my phone started acting really weird and got stuck in a bootloop. I was able to boot into recovery, but I ended up using the LG Flash Tool and went back to bone stock. Still had the issue, except I noticed that my signal would drop, and then it'd get stuck in the bootloop. So, I contacted AT&T warranty and they sent me a replacement. Now the same thing is happening to this one. It gets warm, loses cell signal, then reboots, sometimes a bootloop. This phone hasn't been rooted at all, it's been left stock. So I contacted AT&T and the guy in warranty said he thinks it's the battery, but he didn't have any in stock so he couldn't send a replacement. So I was thinking it was the battery and called LG after it seemed to get worse. They told me that they could replace the battery free of charge if I send in the one I'm using first. Since this is my only way of communication, I contacted AT&T again, and they're sending me another replacement. (Said if this one screw up too, they'll give me a different phone all together). The guy had me download some AT&T remote support app and he looked at the battery health and said it's reading fine, and that because it's reading fine, he didn't think it was the battery. :|
Here's the weird thing, about two weeks ago, it went into a bootloop. I took out the battery for a minute an tried to put it back in. Nothing. I plugged the charger into it and it basically told me that it didn't have enough juice to power on. (battery was at ~40%). So I took the battery back out and tried again. This time it came on.
Then last friday, I was jammin out to music while I was working, it would reboot when I unlocked the phone. (battery was in upper 90%'s). I plugged the charger in while it did this and everything came up as it should. But after taking it off the charger and trying to do more work, it happened again and again.
Like I said, this phone is straight from AT&T and has not had anything flashed onto it by me, hell I never even disabled all the AT&T bloat this time. I've tried a hard reset, and it didn't help. Does anybody know what would be the cause of my problems? I really like this phone and really hope I can get this figured out.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the phone still has its IMEI number and it has the value pack update.
Got the second replacement in the mail today. It hasn't screwed up yet, but only time will tell.

Wow hope this works for you. I just got 3 Optimus G Pro's on 12/30/13 and all 3 of them to date have not had any issues. 2 black and 1 white. 2 which are running stock. 1 stock which has had a bunch of the bloatware yanked (that we could get off of it). 1 stock which has had nothing pulled, everything left the way it is. And the 3rd one (which is the one I use) which I rooted to CyanFox 4.4.2 and later to CM11 4.4.2 Nightly and haven't had any issues like the ones you've explained.
Good luck though hopefully your issue is gone. Seems like a nice reliable phone (minus LG not wanting to support it furthermore ).

I really hope my issues with this phone are done too, I really love this phone. If I don't have any issues, it's going to get rooted and updated to KitKat. Otherwise, I'll try to get AT&T to give me a MotoX or a HTC One.

Yeah I like this phone with KitKat. Looks like a larger Nexus 5
Only problems i'm having with CM11:
1. ATT Visual Voicemail will install but upon playing voicemails program will freeze and crash
2. Tried Google Voice however you can only hear the voicemails through speakerphone, headsets, or bluetooth. Voicemails will no play through earpiece.
3. CM11 doesn't have Screen Recorder yet (Which CyanFox did although CM11 is still fairly fresh).
4. I would like to have the LG Camera app back! Dual video recording and some of those other features are gone with the android stock Camera app. Need to look into porting that back over to KitKat (if I can).
That's bout it though...

Haha yeah, this phone is beautiful with stock Android, I just end up missing certain touches that LG puts in their overlay.
BTW, this phone is doing the same thing as before. I strongly believe it's the battery b/c when it went into a bootloop, I took out the battery it was warm, so I put it in front of the AC for a minute to cool it down and it's been working fine since. So, I'm going to call AT&T and see if they will send me a battery, and if they can't, I'm going to have to send this one in to LG and be without a phone for a week...:'(
UPDATE: AT&T told me "since we have tried everything else-hard resets, replacement phones- and nothing worked, we will send you a battery since it's the only thing that has stayed persistent through this ordeal. We just got some in stock and are sending one your way. If the problem continues to persist, we will replace the phone again." IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!
Just curious, but what if I continue having this issue after I get my new battery? Should I try a similar mah zero lemon battery or just have att give me a different phone altogether?

i think there is an issue with the battery and whatever cable you use to charge the phone.I had to Lge980 when I used a thin cable I have in my room sometimes it did not charged at all and or shut down itself even when the battery had half charge ,sometimes it showed full charged but if I plugged the phone to a thicker cable connected using the oem charger or a usb 3.0 port at my laptop it showed the real charge level at 1/4 charge.I myself could't do anything since I got the phone second hand but as long as I used thick cable connected to a oem charger usb 3.0 or eben 2.0 I had no had any issues.
how'd it go?

If you want to stay on stock i recommend going to jellybean TOT 10k and rooting and installing a custom recovery back up the rom, and flash hkfriends kernel, and see what happens if you raise or lower your phones voltage, that might be the problem with it rebooting.
THE NEW BATTERY SOLVED THE ISSUE, BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME. I upgraded to an HTC One M8 since, and haven't had hardly any problems with it, aside from the death star's BS

Thanks for the response. I talked to the techs at an AT&T direct service center and they told me it's a common problem with the Optimus Pro. I'm on my third one in 8 months now and this one started randomly powering off within 15 minutes of when I took it out of the box three days ago.

Yeah. My issue was the battery for sure. Make them replace the battery and it should temp solve the issue
From what I read on the first e980 i had these phone tend to have a hardware problem where the power button is creating the same issues as OP. Some refurbished e980s have the hardware problem solved.
Hey guys. Bit rusty on this phone as I have been on the M8 for a while but my wife uses it. Her phone is stock rooted (Digiblur's rom I think.) and today after having the phone charging over night she went to turn it on and it got stuck on the Samsung logo screen. I don't have the phone near me at the moment but can you guys refresh my memory and advise the best steps to take? Pretty sure the phone has TWRP recovery but I forgot how to manually access it (if that's even the right course of action.
Not a single person who knows what to do or cares enough to point me in the right direction
Damn man you posted 8 hrs ago. You expect someone to just jump out and fix your issue asap? Give people a chance and you might get help.
My first guess would be battery. Plug phone to wall and see if it boots fully. If it does unplug it and it will most likely shut down or crash. You should be able to boot into recovery without being plugged in since it requires much less power to run. This device has come to that point in its life span where the battery just gives up. I bet if you ask your wife she will probably have noticed that charges don't last as long either.

Check this out worked for me. I would deff check battery first but if that fails this could help you. I know when i wasnt rooted on stock rom the phone had an error in recovery saying efs folder couldnt mount. After rooting the stock rom with a custom recovery, the error didnt show up but was still present.
