I've tried the xposed module but don't see a camera widget or way to get to the camera app. I would like to not have to enter my pin to access my camera.

Coming from an iPhone4, one feature i missed is to have a lock screen that will notify your msg/email/etc. and swipe to unlock, and it will prompt you for password. OR swipe to camera, it will go straight to camera (no password). I sorta had a setup that will "mimic" that effect. (oh and don't need to press OKAY button after you enter your key)
I used Widget Locker, and Smart App Protector. I use the Widget locker as a lock screen with the ICS swipe, and I use Smart App Protector to LOCK all my APPS (except CAMERA and MSG) including the LAUNCHER! but you need to buy the Paid version of Smart App Protector to have this work properly. There is an option called "Protection Delay+" in the PAID version, which will keep your phone unlock, when you unlock your FIRST app (most likely the LAUNCHER) and it will keep it unlock UNTIL your phone go to sleep/lock. (there are some glitches sometime where it will ask you for password randomly, but it doesn't bother me).
So now my phone will go into camera quickly from the lock screen with no password....but as soon as i go outside of the camera app, it will prompt me for password.
For all the ex-iphoner i hope this will help!

To access camera on lock screen, I need to disable secure lock such as pattern lock or pin code lock so I can access camera from lock screen. Otherwise, it will unlock and ask for code to unlock before start camera. This annoy me.
If it possible to access camera from lock screen in case to enable pin code locked?
I remember that HTC incredible S ui can access camera from lock screen directly even the phone was enabled pin code lock.

Bump this post.
I have corporate security on my Note 2, and I am unable to access Camera while locked. However you can do this on the Iphone. My policy administrator says it is a bug in the Android system. I have root, so I should be able to adjust anything. Anyone know where to make the change so that I can use my camera without unlocking my phone?
Usually when I want to capture something on film (camera or camcorder) by the time I've got my phone unlocked and the app opened the event I wanted to capture is long over with.
So what's the fastest setup you guys can come up with for activating the camcorder (or alternatively the camera, but if I had to pick one I'd rather it be the camcorder)? Also I should add that I still want a lock screen for halfway secure general access to my phone.
The best I've come up with so far for camcorder access is a desktop action plus the "mashcord" program. This sequence clocks in at
power button
unlock pattern
double tap anywhere on desktop -- loads camcorder
press record button inside camcorder program
As far as some details as to why I like "mashcord" so far vs various other camcorder shortcuts:
always opens directly to camcorder, not just "camera or camcorder, most recent of the two"
when it opens the camcorder, it still has the "switch to camera" option available, not grayed out
But when operating in a hurry the above is still a very long sequence. Another thing I found is "Photo Button - Spy Camera" which manages to activate the camera with a double press of the volume button (when the phone is off and locked). This is very close to what I want. Negatives of this program are
no way to set what camera options are used: for example it always takes the pic with the flash on
is camera, I'd like camcorder
One last thing: I am rooted, so if a solution involves something like editing /system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl etc (which I did to keep the home button from turning on the phone in my pocket) I'm okay with that.
Thanks for any and all recommendations.
it's possible to unlock straight to the camcorder if you get widgetlocker.
assign the right slider to a launcher shortcut>activities>camera>camcorder (assuming you use a touchwiz rom) and the left slider to unlock.
if you use an AOSP based rom the camcorder is under "gallery" instead of "camera"
this way it would be power button> slide to unlock> record button.
if you really want to use an unlock pattern it's still not going to be very fast.
Could you not use the xposed module which allows the camera to be accessed from the lockscreen even with a pin/password? Then you should be able to use the motion thing where you put a finger on the screen and rotate the phone to landscape to launch the camera.
I haven't tried it myself as I'm not on a tw rom (which I assume you are) so I can't say for sure if this works, but there's no harm in trying.

I just add the camera to my lock screen.
Basically it's:
1) power on
2) swipe the camera icon to get to my lock pattern
3) enter lock pattern
4) take photo
I've tried the exposed mod to get straight into the camera without entering the lock code. It's good for a quick one off photo, but will kick you back to the lock screen if you try to review the photo or switch to camcorder mode.

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to allow widgets in conjunction with a pattern lock screen. My widget locker setup works fine but part of it has a camera hot-spot using uccw. The problem is that every time I click on it, I must input my pattern to access the camera. This is the same with every other widget on my lock screen. I am confused because with the sense lock, you are able to access the camera without entering the pattern. It is only until you try to exit out of the camera that it'll ask you for the pin- this feature is something htc calls "tourist mode" I believe.
Is this possible with WidgetLocker? Why must the pin be entered in order to access any of the widgets. Is there a way to only require the pattern for the phone unlocking process instead?
Thanks
The lower corners of my lock screen have the camera app and microphone app. On other devices you can change those or even get rid of them. Is that not an option on the Pixel. I can not find anything anywhere
No native support of changing or deactivating the shortcuts.
