For some odd reason my m8 flashes something in recovery then it just goes black. I vibrates but it will not turn the screen back on. I tried different recoveries and it still does it. if i wait the screen will turn back on.. what is going on here?!
Sounds like you are not flashing recovery the correct way? Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Flash the firmware.zip and retry or flash stock recovery

Yeah, just disable the screen timeout.

It seems that some original file lose. You can try to root it.
I flashed it correctly and I reflashed the ROM. I don't know why its doing it. First time this ever happened

happened to me when I flashed a recovery from the twrp app
download the recovery and flash it through fastboot or just use a toolkit and it will do everything.

What recovery and which version of it?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I had about the same problem. It was fixed by flashing to stock 1.34 by using hboot. After this I was able to install any ROM I like.
If your migrating from a differnt hboot and flashed a new one your phone will stay in the htc logo screen after the flash..just go the the pc and enter adb rebooot recovery and thier ull be redirected to the recovery

Is your power cable in when it does this?? If you have most recent recovery that shouldn't be the problem. It was a few versions ago though

This is a known bug/feature (comes in handy if your power button is busted), just unplug your device and power off, it'll stay off.

I solved the problem by unistalling CWM and went with 4ext touch recovery. My phone can actually charge with it being off now.

Ok, but it can charge while being off with CWM too. Just leave it at the recovery screen and it'll turn off.

I just rooted/S-off a Dinc2 that I am setting up for my mother, using the "Comprehensive S-off/Rooting Guide". I have not flashed any ROMs or anything. When I boot the phone, it boots up past the white HTC screen to the unlock screen and then starts bootlooping. If I go into recovery and do a factory reset and wipe everything, then it boots normally. However, when I try to restart the same bootloop starts to happen until I wipe again.
Any thoughts as to what could be causing this? I'm hesitant to flash any custom ROMs until I get this resolved.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry to be a dunce but can you point me to the radio and instructions for flashing? Is this a regular flash from recovery or does it involve SDK, adb stuff?

Actually in the guide for S-off/Root I believe that the .312 radio is included. So I should already have .312 radio.
Well, I flashed a custom ROM and the same problem still persists. It will boot as far as the unlock screen and then it will start bootlooping until I do a factory reset in recovery, then it will boot fine.
Any ideas?
I had radio .312. I flashed .320 and the problem as been resolved, no more bootloops.
theres a radio section in the dev forum. put on root of sdcard as pg32img and go into bootloader and follow the screen instructions

Yeah, just got back to this was gonna tell you, just make sure and delete that file now, cause if you don't every time you try and go in recover mode by holding down volume up and power, it will try and install it again

And your bootloader is unlocked? Also, you're flashing the ROM zip from recovery first, then flashing the boot.img from fastboot, right?
Yeah bootloader is unlocked, and I might have done it the other way round I'll try that.

In that case I would suggest that you flash a RUU and see if that works. You will need to relock the bootloader for that.
Well going to give it another shot before I do your suggestion on the RUU, I'll let you no how it goes

When switching ROMs it is pretty much always necessary to clear the /data partition before booting the new ROM. I didn't see you mention that you'd done this anywhere (sorry if I missed it).

I was try to take my phone to as close to stock as possible but didn't have a stock recovery. I was trying to get s-off through sunshine but when i tried to go back to stock i downloaded an ing file from here and installed it using flashify and i am assuming it was the wrong one. Now all i get is the red triangle on start up. How do I flash a recovery using a mac or could some one direct me to a video?
forgot
also i was rooted and unlocked if that makes a difference. I was using twrp and viper one rom.
Get fastboot and adb. Download newest twrp img file. Boot to bootloader and click fastboot. Load terminal on Mac and navigate to directory with fastboot and img.
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Pm me if you need more help.
