questions about "TAMPERED" and S-OFF - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My M8 is bootloader unlocked and S-OFF
Now i want to remove the "TAMPERED" flag in bootloader. How to do that?
Is it possible to "lock" the bootloader again? If the phone is "locked" but still S-OFF, is it possible to flash rom, recovery, firmware etc. ?
What if i want to get S-ON again? How to do that?

i succesfully removed the "TAMPERED" flag.
But what about locking the bootloader?

Is it still possible to flash rom, recovery, firmware etc. with a "locked" bootloader? Can i get back to s-on with a locked bootloader?

1. No, you need to be unlocked to use a custom recovery
2. Yes, but you don't ever have to go back to S-ON anyway

Yes, as if it's locked you can't flash a custom recovery (well, there is a way but it's a ball ache to do)

Not fully rooted/nand unlock, no engineer bootloader (eng-PC36IMG.zip) Solution: Simple root: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=47VAEWXH
am i boned?
Same here
I'm using CW Mod 2.5.0.1 and I'm getting the same thing. I think it was a response to one of your comments that has me looking for a bootloader change, but I'm waiting for confirmation. I found a bootloader here: http://gadgetvault.net/2010/06/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-your-htc-evo-4g/
I'll be interested in whatever anyone can contribute here.
TIA
we are boned!
It's go to do with the eng bootloader and the latest radio.

Which method did you used to unlocked your NAND? As far as the thread that I've posted above and from cyanogen himself, the problem you're encountering is with regards to the eng bootloader (NAND). My guess is you're only FULLY ROOTED but your NAND is NOT UNLOCKED. If you really want to flash CM6 then I suggest you NAND UNLOCKED your Evo first.
I used the latest unrEVOked this morning. Thank you, I was looking in the wrong direction. I am now working with this tutorial: http://www.gadgetsdna.com/how-to-root-htc-evo-4g-and-unlock-nand-protection/3861/
Getting errors along the way, but hopefully am focusing on the right area now.
Thanks again.
theres two simple roots, do the OTA simple root and then the 1,2,3 simple root afterwards or you won't be fully rooted nand unlock, most people forget to do the second part.
ive done both and still nothing! what is wrong?!

with a large lack of detail in your post, my answer will also lack a large amount of detail: if you did them both, and it doesnt work, you did something wrong. probably start over. you're wanting to load the eng RUU PC36IMG.zip that contains the unlocked hboot with NAND unlocked which cyanogen is requiring for his ROM.
thanks. I did the eng bootloader and its work know.
Same problem here... I was able to install CM6.1 ER2 successfully. But then when I tried to *downgrade* to CM6.0 stable I got this assertion failure.

Downgrade hboot 1.08.0099

Hi i would like to ask is it possible for me to downgreat hboot from 1.08.099 to any other down?? My phone is from T-Mobile Poland. I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540952 and do step by step till when is time to run RUU on the PC. In this point i have still problem error 131 or 155. Afster flashing system and boot and open bltools and go to "Superversion" and next to Lock bootloader i see "LOCKED OOW" at the top in hboot 1.08.0099" so all is good. But then is time to RUU and my i cant done this step. I try before RUU flashing oryginal Recovery, set my phone on Locked, Relocked and Unlocked but still doesn't work fine. I create GoldCard but this dont help me.
And another problem any time ago when i run bootloader a saw the green word it was searching PG76IMG and looking for error on sd card (probably) you shoud know what i mean. But now i haven't got this? Why??

if you have your original ruu, downgrading bootloader will be so easy.about flashing with ruu just create goldcard again, and set bootloader only on locked or relocked when you are flashing ruu's..unlocked bootloader may bricked your phone.

There's no problem.
rename the file to 0P6BING.zip (don't extract anything) and place it onto the root of your extSD.
Boot to bootloader and run hboot.
Done like dinner. Super simple. You are S-Off,correct?
It's not corrupted, it's encrypted......something completely different
Yes im s-off . I was afraid that will brick my phone after reading about corrupted . Thank you i will flash it tonight

S-ON PRODUCTION flag in bootloader?

I need to claim warranty on my HTC 10, bootloader is Locked, S-ON, Software status is Official, but there is this "PRODUCTION" flag next to "S-ON" (look at the photo below). I think it appeared after oreo update.
- Can someone verify for me if this is normal for stock never modified HTC 10 phones ?

After flashing the "2PS6IMG-2.51.617.32-US-Unlocked-aboot" the "Production" flag was removed.

Correct because the flag comes with the OREO firmware. When you flash an older firmware the flag will be gone because you are no longer on the oreo firmware.

Sorry Mr Hofs, let me give more info.
I have an Unlocked HCT 10, Official, Locked, and S-off. I am running 3.16.617.2 Oreo software. I wanted to see if I could remove the PRODUCTION flag.
I RUUed the 2PS6IMG-2.51.617.32-US-Unlocked-aboot. (I know never flash anything but the correct software version).
Phone booted up perfectly with no production flag. Running stable.
Knowing this I then used a text editor on the 3.16.617.2-aboot-no-red-text and removed the production flag.
I'm NOT telling anyone to try this!
I'm just telling you what I did and it worked great for me.

Is there anyway to put the OEM lock back On?

I don't want to go to custom rom on S9 anymore a lot of functions do not work.
But i already did the OEM unlock so now on the Download mode it say "OEM lock: off".
How to put that to original state which is on?

No idea, shouldn't affect anything though, just means the bootloader is unlocked, as long as you don't flash anything custom OTAs will work etc
