[MOD] LockRing Changer

This is not my creation or work up. Just sharing this with the permission of FaithCry.
Here is a link to his thread ​
Many of you know about this mod already many may not. I love it!!! I've tried it on about 5 different AOSP based roms from Liquid to CM and RootBox so all the bases pretty much. It basically replaces the lock with an icon of your choice into framework-red.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi with out all the hassle .

​INSTRUCTIONS​NANDROID ALWAYS until you think you're comfortable or if you just don't give a F
Install an app called zipthemer from the play store
HOW DO I INSTALL THIS???
- First, USE ZIPTHEMER
- download the file to /sdcard/Zipthemer
- go open Zipthemer
- BEFORE ADDING THEMES UPDATE EDIFY
-> hit menu
-> update edify
-> browse...
-> browse to your rom's zip and click on it
-> it will return to the previous menu and then hit configure
-> EDIFY IS NOW CONFIGURED
- then it +Theme and navigate to the folder with the ring
- then change the name of the output if you like
- then click "Build It" and then make a back up.
- reboot into recovery and flash
- reboot
- ?????
- PROFIT!​
Make sure you do not have a theme installed (put it to system) and do not have "Dark UI" enabled
Should see your new LockRing mod in place now. If not then make sure the above stuff are not there. I have not run into an issue yet changed about 4 icons.

If anyone has any contributions to make please post them and we will try and get them and others added, this is just a nice way to give the phone a complete theme to your liking ANDROID BABY. The icon is 216x216 for our device XHDPI

So no one has any questions or comments or what their lock screen looks like now? That's great that no one is having any issues but prefer feedback lol, and ideas on some customs one to see if I can create something.

Ya maybe I should put it in the op. I haven't tested with a touchwiz and aosp lock screen but it might work.

I appreciated it too when I found it. I want ideas to play with and try and get better with photo editing stuff to make custom ones. People either don't come to themes for aosp stuff or don't want to bother. Oh well lol.

Have you played around with the other mods on the original thread??? I did, and i even change the glow dots and much more to customize my illusion rom

You know what i've noticed?? Is when you change the theme in the theme chooser the lockring and the glowdots comes back to stock idk why, its weird im a check the original thread and see if they have a solution for it, does it happen to you?

Changing the theme will change those depeneding on the theme, themes contain themed apk such as phone.apk and framework-res.apk where your custom icons will be over ridden.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ***READ THE ENTIRE THREAD***
2. Ensure you are running a CUSTOM recovery. Don't know what that is, GIYF!
3. Place ROM zip onto SD card of choice.
4. Reboot into recovery.
5. Choose "install from sdcard."
6. Select the ROM zip.
7. Install.
8. YOU MUST WIPE DATA IF COMING FROM ANOTHER ROM. My ROM updates won't need a data wipe.
9. Hit thanks
10. Reboot and Enjoy let it settle and wait for the screen to timeout before pressing any buttons or setting up your device!!!
**VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
Do NOT flash ANY other mods to this ROM. They WILL break the customization feature. Also.. DO NOT USE ANY OF MY MODS OR MY WORK IN ANY OTHER ROM!

Hey killer th3me looks sick...lol but when I flashed it got a system ui message ..im on hyperdrive 9 verizon s4 ..any ideas why I got that it popped up a few times had to re install rom ..didnt do back up ..lol no biggie

Did you make sure and install on a fresh install of the rom with no other themes flashed or mods? And just so I understand you re installed the rom and is the ui still crashing?

Can we get the wally for lockscreen and pulldowns, I didn't get them after flashing.

This theme is sick. I love it always want my phone to look different than everybody else's. Good

Yes I will post them in post 2 under addons. I have to catch a flight back home around 1 so prob wont be til after that but check back. I also fixed a few quirks so I will be updating the link as well. I will notify when the changes take place.

These are all Zip Themer app zips. Zip themer was the best universal way to post zips. WILL WORK ON ANY ROM AS LONG AS YOU USE THE APP CORRECTLY>

Make sure you download the appropriate mod for whichever version of android you are running

So just to confirm, since the FAQ isnt totally clear, this will work on stock ROMs if you use the edify method correct?
However, it links to a GNex page, so I was wondering if it is compatible with all devices.

It is compatible with all aosp roms for lockrings and etc... Lol (my bad)
When u edify on stock u with zip themer u must use a gapps zip or something of that nature ... Since there is no Rom zip.

When it comes to aosp stock or custom the folders are the same. And yes the edify process is universal. Make sure to use your devices zip and not the gnexs

I apologize if this isn't the right place, but is there any way to look into unlocking the GSM SIM portion of the phone with these ROMs, don't have sprint plan anymore(had to quickly move to brazil for a job) and It's SIM locked. Again, apologies if this isn't the right place.

I know for one thing, one of the mods for the Sprint variant that has yet to make an appearance is a wifi tether mod. I know there are many folks interested in it and if you can get it to work that would be awesome. Maybe even adding a separate flash zip file to enable wifi tether would be awesome.

Does anybody have a working link?

Perhaps upload it to Mediafire? I know Dropbox is not a good way to share files since they limit the amount of huge downloads.

Tried flushing and got an error on the update binary something or other. Gonna wait to try another download. Thanks rocko!
