i have no idea what it means, but basically, the z1c does have the technology. refer here http://www.qualcomm.com/chipsets/quick-charge so basically, any normal charging cable is okay. I suggest you use magnetic cable charger or docks for better charging. and make sure the plug is 2.1 A, so it charges much faster with the help from the technology. I use magnetic charger and it charges quickly~

Can you tell us what big difference is charging by magnetic cabel and normal in our z1c? im really curiois because i want to buy magnetic cabel of dock

For me I used a Chinese doc and an adaptor. When in use (screen on )with either my battery drain. But with USB it charges.

well, i prefer magnetic because it spares you the time (and probably avoid defects) of opening the flaps often using usb. With magnetic dock, you can still surf, or watch videos on it comfortably. but i use the cable, for the reason of not wanting to ruin the flaps during charging process. Furthermore, it uses the output 2.1 so, the phone charges faster.

are you saying that your battery drain when you use it while you are using the dock? I think it is because your usage is much higher than what it gets. My guess is your chinese dock only provide below the normal current needed to charge the phone.

I'll try to test with a original cable

I don't think you should use that. If you overload your battery it could give serious problems.

Your standard charger has 1500mah limit and when.you use the phone and it power consuming when browsing etc is about 200-300mah's so real charging value is 1300-1200mah's. But our xperia can be charging faster. I called to sony center.in poland and they said that on magnetic charger phone is full after 1h or 1,5h so 1h quicker
Wysłane z mojego D5503 przy użyciu Tapatalka

You can use charger up to 2A for Z1C
Charges alot faster than stock 1.5A.

The charging rate of normal charger is faster than the magnetic charger.
But it is easy to break off the USB cover flap after long term using of a normal charger.
USB cover flap plays an important role in prevent your phone from water.

Magnetic Charging Cable for Z Ultra / Z1 incompetible

http://www.netimes.com/shop/magneti...ony-xperia-z-ultra-sony-xperia-z1-p-4975.html
Can anyone verify this? If it really works with Z1? i bought one and its not charging. I use a 2.1A Innergie Plug with a 2.1Amp input which is the same current as the original charger.
When you buy things from China/Hong Kong, you may get something dodgy - not saying you definately will, but when you hear about exploding iphones and whatnot, I think it is down to that.
I just bought the official charger for the Xperia Z Ultra, and took out the cable from the dock and just use that personally.
Have now 4 magntic charging cables dismantled from the dock, all 4 work perfectly and grant fast charging ..........................

no it doesn't
and the Z Ultra Dock and Z1 dock are the same except for the slot as the phones are different thickness - I use a ZU dock with my Z1
and to the OP - the Sony original charger has the data pins shorted out to enable fast charging when the phone detects this - it is the phone that decides whether to fast charge or not based on the shorted pins

Thank you, what do you mean wit " the OP"?, Which is the data pin?
Other hand, do you know if the cable has any polarity?
OP = Original post
yes there is polarity - +
The USB has 4x pins/connections - + and two data pins in the middle, as the mains charger has no use for data connection they are shorted out on the charger to enable the phone to identify a charger with fast charge ability
you could have a 2.1 amp charger connected to the phone but if the data pins are not shorted out the phone will limit the charge rate at 0.5 amps or 500ma

External battery charger for GNEX

My Gnexus is having a problem whereby I cant charge the phone but I can connect it to the PC, phone repair shops had tried to replace the USB and ribbon but the problem is still there, they said its a motherboard failure and it will cost an arm and leg to replace it..
In the meantime while waiting for the Nexus 5 to be released in my country, is there any type of external battery charger, the ones that I can take out the battery from my phone and put it on the charger available for sale anywhere?
BlakeJ said:
Haven't seen one. I guess it would take sometime for the manufacturers to produce a charger for a newly released phone.
I personally wouldn't take out the battery from my phone to get it to charge. I don't want to waste time on waiting for the start of the phone. I use a RAVPower 8400mAh power bank that I can simply connect my phone to it with an USB cable, and get my phone to charge on the go. And I can use it to charge my other devices.

Battery full charge takes 5 to 6 hours

Hi all
How much time does it take for you to fully charge your xperia zl from 0 to 100. Mine takes more than 5 hours. This is unusual. Dining send it for replacement.
Sent from my C6502 using Tapatalk
Are you using the wall charger or just through USB on the computer?
I use the charger+cable which came with the phone, and it takes like 3-4 hours to charge it completely.
I use wall charger I even got a fast charger with 1500mA rating still it takes more than 5 hrs
Sent from my C6502 using Tapatalk
Are you using it while it is charging, or do you leave it with the screen off to charge?
I have left it without using still it takes 5 plus hours. Tried multiple such combinations
Sent from my C6502 using Tapatalk
After market cable can cause this because it has low amp output, I also faced the same issue if I use 3rd party cable, using original or cable that rated atleast 1amp output will shorten charging time.

Might be value in testing charging while the phone's actually powered off... (might be some significant power drain from a running app...)
Hello everyone
I also noticed that my device takes a while to load
However I noticed my charger shows the model EP-880 1500mA
I believe that may be a firmware issue

I was using another cable that originally came on my Xperia Mini which are both different models (using was to be longer)
So I started to use the original (Cable Model EC801) and now loads faster
I noticed that the cable Xperia Mini has two boxes (which would be a resistor or something?) In the middle of the cable, and ZQ does not have any of them
What are the specifications of the official Xperia ZL charger as I bought my phone without the charger and I had to buy another Sony charger separately and I don't know if it is the official one or not, if any one can post a picture of the charger, that would be very helpful.

ZL charger has 1.5amp output, just search for any charger that has this output or more. You can charge with 1amp charger also but it will take a longer time and ur charger will become too hot once it charge in a longer period. It will shorthen ur charger lifespan.
Other than that, ur cable output capability also play important role, search for atleast 1amp output cable, more amp more good but a bit expensive. Just google the spec of the cable or ask the seller.

Z1 compact not charging

My z1 compact is not charging through the usb connector and whenever I charge it there is no lightning bolt indicator indicating that its charging and also the stamina mode icon beside the battery disappears whenever I plug it.
I never submerged it in water nor it was dropped or had any kind of damage, the only thing I suspect is the charger I am using, I am not using the default charger rather I am using a samsung charger, 1st I had it checked to a friend of mine who is a cellphone technician and a very good one, he told me that xperia phones especially z series are prone to this kinds of damage when using other charger or class a replica chargers, then I recalled that I was indeed using a fake charger and remembered that during that time there was a sudden disconnection of electricity or sudden blackout and sudden reconnection of electricity, fake charger cant handle sudden electricity changes so it might had and impact on my phone, so I sent it to sony center and waited for 3 weeks (minimum waiting time) then I received a call from them to pick up my phone but it was not repaired because the problem is in the board and it would be xpensive to repair (I have no more warranty) like buying a new unit they said,my phone still connects to my pc and I noticed that when I charge it my battery is not discharging but also not charging fast enough because I was charging it for 24 hours and it only went up for 1%, from 7% to 8%, then I left it for another 24 hours but the percentage is not moving up, I can still connect it through my pc though, who does have this kind of problem?
also will my phone charge when I charge it through the magnetic dock?I dont have any friends who have a magnetic dock so i cant check it and if I will buy one and it does not work then its another waste of money, since sony cant fix it anymore does that mean that my phone now will just be a paper weight,i am really disappointed, hope somebody could help me..tia
I'm using Samsung charger from time to time when I forget my xperia charger and have similar problem but in my case when my battery lvl is up to 98% led turn off and my phone won't charge anymore but when I plug stock charger everything is normal and my phone is charged to 100%

Do you know anyone with a Sony phone and see if their charger works on your phone?
Seems likely that your Samsung charger might have damaged the usb port, but the magnetic charging port is separate.
The cost of a magnetic clip will be cheaper than a new phone or sending it back for repair. Also using the magnetic clip saves ware and tare on the waterproof usb cover that you keep pulling off/on to charge it.

well its quite simple, other phones are not "sensitive" like this, other brands like samsung,lg even htc and blackberry doesnt have any problems when using other charger besides the charger that came with it,I can prove that because I also own other brands,if Sony's items are so premium then why is it so sensitive like that? are they using cheap parts but sell their products at a high price because theyre struglling you know thats why they sold their vaio brand and will not make anymore laptops, next would be the smartphones, and its just not me,I found out that I am not alone in experiencing this problems,o well, better move on,it has been great sony, tnx

this is related to this problem http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...ttery-reporting-phone-dying-suddenly-t3095120
It will be solved with battery substitution.
Mine won't charge, stuck on 50%, when connected even the red light isn't on, you can see in the image
I bought a used Z1 compact and it didn't come with a charger. Used my LG and wouldn't charge. Tried different leads still not charging using adapter charger via usb port. Began charging using usb on laptop? Then used my wifes apple charger via usb port and charging!
I use the standard charger (the one with 2 'lumps' on the cable, but occasionally another cable (whichever lands in my hand). All ok until 6 months ago, when I replaced the battery . It was Ok for a while, but then I had to start using the magnetic charger.
Today I checked the usb charge point for dust etc., and now it is charging on its own usb charger! I happened to use a needle, but don't recommend it. Maybe a plastic toothpick, or cocktail sausage stick? A toothpick is too big, and might leave splinters.
z1 compact d5503 wont charge or turn on
i bought this model off ebay and rooted it and installed the custom rom and it's working beautifully...until i used it to 0 power. the charger then wouldn't charge it. i waited an hour and nothing, i got the three vibrations when i hit power and up but the nothing again. my solution...i rummaged through my old chest and found another micro sd charger. put it in and BAM the red light at the top went solid. my problem was the charger cable.

Dash Power Bank

I have a Ravpower 16750mAh External Power Bank with Quick Charge - Dash Charging makes this dang near useless and I don not see any external batteries that support Dash.
Soooo Dash Charge is "cool" but at this point it is incomplete for the mobile warrior and the accessories that are available are expensive and proprietary.
Thoughts?
I was just thinking.. What if you use one of those portable power outlet bricks with the original dash charger brick attached. Granted they aren't very small and it's not a native dash charge platform but it could theoretically work.
Because of the heat that Dash charging generates on the charger end, it might be hard, if not impossible, to make a battery pack that utilizes it.
Metal heat sink insulated from the rest of the casing would probably work. My phone charges crazy fast, but I don't really notice the charger heating up much the few times I've touched it.

Yes, this is the real deal.
Dash charging works.
In addition, it can charge your phone in 5V/4.5A.
(The stock DASH is 5V/4A.)
You can change electric current from 3A to 4.5A in power bank setting.
Sounds perfect. How's the exact name of the power bank?
And do you know where to purchase it?
