Cases get stuck in the battery door... - Samsung Captivate Glide

has anyone figured out any way for this to, you know, NOT happen??
I am using a guitar pick as a pry tool and it still happens.

take apart lg ks20

i need to take apart my ks20. want to repaint the chrome like frame that goes around the phone (lg used some cheap paint, it comes off really easy). I have looked at the service manual, but couldn't get anywhere. After taking out the battery and sim card, there are to screws on top that i removed, i tried to remove the back plastic cover (the one with the camera opening) and no luck, it doesn't budge.
does someone know how to do this? i think the service manual is somewhere on the site, but i have no idea how to proceed.
thanx a lot
Try

thanx for the link, but i have looked at the manual and can't make up anything of it
it doesn't say how to go about taking it apart, all it shows is a diagram with all the pieces
is there anyone here who knows or at least has an idea about this, i really need to get it repainted (i hate scratched phones)
thanx a lot
Maybe some one can answer this question? I also need to disassemble my KS20 - because of dirt on camera lens...
The disassembly is fairly straightforward - remove the battery, remove the visible screws, run a special tool along the black plastic and unclip. It's not easy, but it will come off. The back cover houses thermal pad, because KS20 gets quite hot from time to time. I guess LG didn't anticipate that happening, so the pad is a bit of a last resort solution from them, quite unorthodox.
As far as middle silver strip is concerned, it houses a flex, so unless you know what you are doing - don't bother touching beyond the back cover.
hi, i dissambled my ks20 today.. and i think there's a problem...
my screen wont turn on anymore...there are still sounds and even the touch screen is working..its just that my screen is not showing anything...
i think the connection between the screen and the motherboard was loose...
but then again, i cannot find the connector... can someone help me with this...
Hi,
Read this KS20
By.
tqso much....
i just receive my digitizer today... but i have no idea to repair it myself...can u guide me?
We took my ks20 apart. The screen opened up a bit when it was removed, so perhaps it's broken. We did manage to get the digitizer off however..
Problem is the digitizer was glued with a helluva lot of glue. How will we get it to stick when we put it back? I read some use double-sided tape, but won't that be way too thick?
Glue seems to be the only solution, but what kind and how much? The screen also seemed to have been glued in place.
Will any kind of super glue work? Only a couple of drops perhaps? I'm pretty sure the phone won't be tight after this but..
Anyone who's done this procedure.. What did you use? We're gonna finish this tomorrow so I'm very grateful for any advice.

This is important.

Try placing the thick edge of the bugger toward the charger(USB) end of the phone. Just a little push and it will go smoothly.
thanks for the advice, but i realized i didnt have the screw tightened all the way. went right in after that.
also anyone know where i can get a non t mobile battery cover without having to pay 30 usd?

Problem with back of phone

Has anyone else had a problem or having a problem with the backing cover? Ever since I took off the back for the first time, it wont fit snug completely to the phone. The right side of it is always popped out a bit. I can push it in and make it flush, but that only lasts for a short time before it is popped up a bit again.. Trying to find out if this is something I should return the phone for or just a design flaw. Thanks
Others had this problem, someone said a post-it folded in half under the cover fixes it. Otherwise you could try foam or something else.

Can't remove the battery cover

Hi,
I can't remove the battery cover, which I will need to be able to do as I want to install a custom rom, but if it gets stuck in a boot loop I'll be completely stuck.
And I know the design is poor (i.e everyone has issues), but only one person has ever been able to do it (something like the 15th person, in the 6th shop I took it to, cause you need to take the cover off to unwrap the battery on first boot).
Any techniques or anything? It literally seems stuck. The guy that did it took it out the back and came back with it off.

I also would like to know if there is special way to do it.
I once drop my phone and the battery cover come out a little bit from its position. I try to put it back into its position. BUT couldn't do so. Than I try pull out the cover. Than BAMMMM!!! its broke!!!
Buy new cover, but costly..
Buying a new cover is only any use if you can get the original off. And although I don't know the technique, even people that did couldn't get it off - I was shown 2 other DHDs that could be done with a minimal amount of fiddling (i.e. mine is way worse than it should be). I had about 10 people say "oh yeah mate it's easy, you just do thi.. wait... wow, that's like glued on or something".
The battery cover is a good design. Had to take out the battery number of times and it always goes off and on as intended to, perfect.
I had another mate try to do it and he just couldn't figure it out. Wtf has this world come to??
If you look there is a little space where you put your nail and then pull it out with a bit of force and putting it in is even easier!
Honestly, so many threads/posts about this...

I'm not thick, you would have to be stupid to not realise there's a place for your nail - the problem is that my cover wouldn't budge (clearly you didn't read the OP - I took it to 5 different PHONE SHOPS - and only one guy could do it. I've opened other DHDs, just not mine. Until today...
Got a friend to try - he spent about 5 minutes but couldn't, but he must have budged it as I could get my nail into the corner - (to the left of the bit you're supposed to do) and hook it up from there - sorted
eeeeehhh RELAXXX lol
one moment...... are you talking about you can´t open the battery cover of your DHD?
REALLY YOU CAN´T?
I'd be darned if people find the DHD battery hatch to open easily... I even got the under side of my nails(the index finger) bleed trying to pry it open the first time I tried to charge the phone.

Couldn't, now can I felt really embarrassed going into a shop saying "I can't take the cover off" But then they were like... neither can we haha. It's been loosened now and can be done with a bit of technique.
It can be that it sounds absurdity but here I leave the guide of DESIRE HD, there it is written like to remove the cover.
In a Spanish forum i was read that there are people who helps herself with a credit card or a small screwdriver...
i think its solved

I can remove the battery cover from my DHD with one hand - although I end up flicking the cover several feet.
Don't get me wrong, when I first got mine it was so tight I nearly snapped it. It's by no means loose now but it has got a little easier.
I don't like my fingernails to reach some ugly lengths(like girly nail lengths) I usually keep my fingernails short b/c I have some sort of OCD... ):

Um, ok, thanks for sharing that. Useful to know.

[Q] How would I do this?

Well my power/unlock button has been used so much that it has gotten really flimsy. So flimsy that I need to press it pretty hard to get it to even unlock. There is no more "button" feel, you kind of just press your finger down and hope for the best. How would I go about replacing this?
Same thing happened to my Eris way back when. I never replaced it though. Just got the DInc. Maybe try Dealextreme. They have replacement parts for pretty cheap prices and I believe you buy it through amazon's servers.

I had something quite similar happen to mine. It's probably gunked up with finger oils and stuff. I used some very small tools to get in there and clean that crud out. I was shocked how much was in there. After I got it clean it worked like new, that little pop to it like there should be. Don't try liquid contact cleaners. I have no idea what that could do to that screen and I wouldn't wanna find out. Dental tools would be perfect. If not, anything small and narrow that will get down an eighth of an inch. Lemme know if that works if you try it.
