I recently moved all my pictures from my internal storage to my SD card but now the HTC gallery is having some trouble showing them. All my pics shown up fine in quickpic, but this is what I see in gallery.

Solution:Clearing the data from Media storage, then force stopping and restarting the phone did the trick!
Use ES file Explore.

Have you tried installing an app that rescans the phone for media like photos. This seems to solve the issue for me but I'm not moving anything to SD card this is on the phone itself

I would suggest clearing the data for the gallery app to force it to rebuild its database.
Reboot the phone or clear the gallery app data

Tried clearing the data and cache from the HTC gallery app but no luck.
Also tried some rescanning apps from the Play store, no luck.
However, clearing the data from Media storage, then force stopping and restarting the phone did the trick!
I had same issue as it was as simple as moving them from the dcim folder to a folder titled 'pictures'.
I had about 30 folders of pics and when I moved them to dcim on external sd the HTC gallery app couldn't see any of them.

My icon will becomes like this every time I reboot my DHD.Anyone facing the same problem?
Is it a recurring problem? And it's specifically affect certain application? Backup, wipe data, uninstall and restore in TB should do the trick.
It happens when the application is in sd card. Move them to phone memory or just wait for few minutes. They usually come on their own. Happens to my DHD too.
Oops, my bad. The TB method only works for duplicated icon and (some) missing icon cases. Some of the apps are defaulted to move to SD card (large size issue). And yes, normally it will appear after few seconds (minutes) after reboot. I'm not sure how to fix yours.
Ok,I just moved these apps to internal memory, and I thinked the problem solved,so which mean my SD card got problem?

Owh, I get it. The read speed of your SD card is somewhat a bit slow. But eventually the icons will show, right? It only happens when you reboot your phone and it will grab all the data from the SD card after the error check. There's nothing to worry about.
Yup,I have a class 4 SD card ,so should I change for class 10 SD card XD.1 more question,a slow SD card can affect phone performance(overall ) ?

You can use it just fine as is it now. But having a faster SD card will boost the data read and write, plus it will greatly improve application handling in SD card. Video recording in higher definition is made possible and smoother. Photos in the gallery will be loaded faster.
Ok,understood, appreciate for your help bro, thanks!

As seen in the image, I am running low on space. Adding up the used portions of my memory should leave more than 5gb's left, but instead I have only 2.9
Any help?

Usually this is due to nandroid backups.

the amount of space taken up by your nandroid doesn't show up in this screen. you should try downloading DiskUsage from the Play Store so you'll have an idea as to what's taking up space in your phone.
P.S. I am not, in any way, related to or are friends with the developer/s of DiskUsage.
I noticed that when initially 'calculating', there is a 'misc' group where usually nandroid and other big files are but once it finishes calculating it disappears.
I'm not sure why it does that now on jb roms but on ics roms it would calculate the misc group. Or maybe it's just a rom problem but I doubt it.
I'm on aokp btw

Your doubt is justified, it's the same on stock since Jellybean!
I'll check out disk usage. I have no nandroid backups on my phone.

This happened to me before, and i know exactly why, though its pretty situational.
I used Google music to download all of my songs to my device. What I didn't know is that you don't just get copies of the same files you uploaded. What I ended up getting was a bunch of strangely named files in the cache of Google music with a .nomedia file hiding them. My data manager did the same strange disappearing misc. files thing. I tried to unpin the music through Google music, and the space was still taken. I then tried to delete the files from the cache using a root manager, and I couldn't for the life of me free up that space, no matter what I did.
I ended up wiping my data and starting fresh because it frustrated me so much.

You didn't post your battery stats but sound like you have a rogue application. The list may show an app using a high percentage of battery but what you're looking for is stay awake time. The app may not be at the very top but possibly consuming enough % to rival screen, Android or Android OS. Just tap the app on the list to see it's stay awake time.
Once you find the application keeping the phone awake. Decide if you need it. If not, freeze or remove if it's not a core app. Otherwise, clear data and cache for the application and restore it manually and see if it behaves.
If still not allowing deep sleep, try clearing data and cache again then removing the application and installing again. If still not sleeping, you may have to wipe user data. But if it's an application that has an update, you can remove the one in system if it's not a core application. See this link for apps safe to remove or freeze. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56201863&postcount=3

micro SD card or contents? Haven't had this issue but found this link
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...ioGICQ&usg=AFQjCNH6rd5Z2TIXUhn4k3GsBrodnLK-DQ
One poster mentioned a new 64GB sdcard installed caused same issue; I wonder if he had tried formatting to something other than exFAT? I read somewhere that 64GB and 128GB should only be formatted exFAT for Note 4.
Edit: the 64 and 128GB micro sdcard most likely ships new with exFAT format; I know that I didn't have to format my Samsung EVO 64GB sdcard.
I have something strange happening with Google Photos. When I go to download one of my photos on Google Photos to my pixel, it will show its downloading it but it's not in my downloads folder, if I try tapping on the downloaded notification it asks me if I want to open it up chrome or another HTML viewer. If I do open it in chrome then this is the URL..
content://com.android.providers.downloads.documents/document/546
I have tried downloading multiple different photos and the same thing happens. Anyone else seeing this?

This is a screenshot of Root Explorer with the path on top of where I found the picture I "restored" in Photos (I didn't see a download button in my picture options)
What do you see at this path?

Yeah, I can see the file in that path which is odd because it use to download them to downloads. Also have you tried opening the file from that path? I did and none of the files open. Photos just opens a blank screen

Hmm. Not sure. Maybe a bug. I found on google product forums a suggestion to use Google Drive to download photos to downloads folder. That worked for me.

Same thing happened to me today. When you restore pictures using google photos, it creates a folder called restored.
I tried to restore 5 pictures from about 5 years back and the same problem happened.
When I restored 2 pictures from earlier this year they were in the restored folder in the gallery.
Edit: went into the restored path using Mixplorer and those pictures that didn't restore are in there. All 55kb, when opened the thumbnail isn't available.

From last two days I am facing this issue. First it was with the LG G4 Stock Gallery app. It is either showing blank screens or white screen.

I had other Gallery app which was working for some time and now they are also showing problems. I have searched across the internet and did the following actions :
1. I have already tried force stopping and clearing data of Gallery APP.
2. I have already tried force stopping and clearing data of Media Store system app. After rebooting the pictures appears in gallery app but after sometime it goes back to same.
3. I have tried switching in safe mode but in there also same story with gallery app.
Can someone help me here?
:fingers-crossed:
Finally fixed this issue. The problem was that I have created a folder named Video from my laptop (connecting phone as external storage) while transferring some videos to SD card. Since the Folder named video was in root of sd card, I think it was wreacking the media scanner process. I isolated the issue by removing my sd card and rebooting. The gallery app was working fine. Then when I searched through sd card using ES file explorer, i noticed this folder (the reason I noticed was that this folder icon was different from others). I transferred the videos to another folder and deleted this folder and bingo, everything is perfect.
So if the mediascanner is getting confused, check the file structure first!!!
Hope this helps someone who faces this issue.

This is a ridicilous issue Once upon a time I was suffereing this problem even with shot photos with LG camera. LG gallery app can't be updated. They should have released a fix for this. You are right mediascanner works in a very bad different way. So only solutions are storing photos and videos in DCIM folder or We should use Cloud Backup like Google Photos or Flickr. I actually use Google Photos and I delete photos and videos which was backed up. I will never buy an LG phone again. This issue is only minor but annoying one...
So many thanks to you brother....even i faced the same issue... i downloaded a movie... and since then the gallery app started behaving strangely.... i did every possible troubleshooting...but nothing changed... and then came across ur article....and tadaaaa...am a happy soul again..... very helpfull article.....
