Battery damage if tablet used when charging? - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My old galaxy gio's battery swollen and my phone started only with the charger on. I think it broken because i was leaving it charging overnight and using the phone when charging.
Now i have a new Tab 3 so i need to know if the battery will break if i use the tablet when it's charging. About charging it overnight i know it's bad so i won't do it but i'm interested if it's bad to use it when it's charging.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus GSM fuel gauge battery reset?

Hey guys, new to the forum. I'm have some battery issues with my Nexus, had the phantom charging thing and replaced whole usb charging board, then it was ok, theeen , it only charge til 50%, 60% if i'm lucky. Bought then battery pack and a wall battery charger. The problem is my Nexus reads the new fully charged batterys as full. Looks like it remembers the last battery level of charge and well, it thinks its not charged, so it shuts off like at 3%. Could it be the battery gauge not resetting or anything? Can it be done manually like in the S2? Thanks in advance

[Q] Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Just Turned off.

I was charging my tab and now the tab if off. When i try ro swicth it on it does not responed. Its was working less than 30min ago when I putted it in the charger. How ever now if off. Any ideas what might have caused it? Thank you in advance.
Possibly your battery has been allowed to become flattened to the point where it cannot accept a charge from the wall charger. One thing to do is to try and trickle charge your tablet from a low voltage/amperage connection. Either a powered on PC USB port to the charging connector on your tablet, or from a low power phone charger (5v/500ma). It has been pretty well documented that lithium batteries do not like to be drained fully & it may be that the battery in your tablet has drained so low that it cannot accept a charge from the Samsung a/c charger.
Try a trickle charge for 8-10 hours (or longer) on your tablet & see if that gets enough charge into your battery to enable it to recognise & accept a charge from the a/c charger.

Samsung did the same to my tablet after a warranty claim and I had to charge off of my laptop for an hour to get it to wall charge.

[Q] Charging issues

My phone has recently started having charger issues. When I'm able to get it to charge it will fully charge the battery, but sometimes it will actually decrease in charge when on the charger. Just last night I had it on the charger while the phone was off and it was showing 100% charge but when I turned it on it actually only had a 2% charge.
I brought it to ATT today and they said it was the charger port by looking at the pin. I'm not fully convinced since I compared it to my friends s3 and it looks exactly the same.
Would anyone have any idea on what the problem might be?

[Q] what happen to battery after it is fully charged??!!

Hello.. this might sound alittle bit old question or maybe repeated alot but i couldn't find the answer at the internet..
i held two samsung galaxy note 1 and 4, and i noticed when the battery fully charged i can't see that charging mark on the battery.. WHAT DOES THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?
does that mean the system stopped charging the battery and it won't affect on its lifespan? or it is overcharging?
i noticed in Sony Z3 there is option for night charging which is when the battery is full it will automatically disconnect the charging, is that thing the same in samsung but without any option or it can damage the battery because it keep charging??
i hope i can get the answer....
thank you
With the stock charger, or any decent 3rd party charger, it will stop charging when the battery is full and begin again when needed.
It goes off full charge and goes into trickle charge. The phone won't turn off the charger when it's full.

Ive always wondered about the trikle charge effect on phones as well as laptops. So wouldnt that damage the battery overtime? Continually discharging a tiny bit and recharging over and over again?
I wish there was a definitive answer to this any many other perpetual questions regarding the current crop of Li-ion batteries..
It's supposedly less damaging to top of a lithium ion battery than to fully discharge and charge.

tab 3 10" is it possible that power bank broke my tablet?

Hello i was charging my tablet with cheap powerbank from china, (i had charged with that with no problems for few times).
So yesterday i left it to charge with power bank just because i'm testing it.
Now i can't charge p5210 at all and chargers running very hot. When i try to got download mode it says you should have atleast 3volts of battery life.
anyway i should maybe replace the battery, but could it be that the powerbank broke it?

There has to be a short somewhere, it's not the battery, the battery will charge no matter what but the battery life depends on whether or not the battery is damaged. I'm assuming there is a short in the charging port. Try charging the battery with another source? and see if that fixes the issue?

Yep thanks for answer. I was giving it more thoud and i think something is broken in my table, because i think it tried to charge my external battery. Maybe a diode broke or something and two days ago i tried to charge the tablet with wall charger, charger just got really hot.
Well anyway i will be getting new tablet after christmas
Okay weird it's chargin again, I just wiggled the micro usb port a litte bit. But I'm still worried to leave it on wall charger coz of last time i did that it just discharged my battery and wall charger got really hot.

the charger is shorting itself out, try getting a new charger and see if that helps
Alright will do. I've not had any problems with any other devices, but will change just to be safe.
