ZVC to AOSP? - Sprint LG G2

So I just moved from the Evo Lte and all I want to do is get aosp running on the G2. I am on the kitkat ota update and have rooted using ioroot and have twrp installed with AutoRec. I tried flashing paranoid android and it just sent me into a bootloop... anything I'm missing?

Redid the whole process and instead of AOSP flashed a different zva rom from the dev section, now I get security error on boot and still bootlooping

You still having trouble? I'm not home right now but remember you from IRC. I believe at this point you have lost recovery and will have to .tot back

Nothing is zvc comparable yet. A few in regular lg g2 threads but non other then cloudy pro 2, I think work on ours with zvc

All fixed thanks to the guys on irc. I successfully flashed aosp after I downgraded my modem. I didn't find the system to be too stable so I just reverted by tot to ZVC with root and recovery. Now I'm just trying to get a custom kernel working, what can I do for that?

no WiFi after flashing roms

Hello,
I rooted vz9 with one click root. Then used freegee to unlock and install twrp. I could use WiFi fine up until that point. Now no matter what ROM I flash (carbon, CM, PAC) I cannot connect to any WiFi. When I put in the password and hit connect it says saved but never even seems like its trying to actually connect. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks
Did you try another kernel?

You're using ZV9? That radio shouldn't even be working with anything JB. Use the ZVB/ZVC radio.

OK I guess that was an underlying question. So I can flash a vzb/vzc radio even if I'm using a custom ROM like Carbon?
Thanks for the help.

I'm kinda scared to flash kernels. Never really gotten that deep into roms so don't fully understand them. I would like to learn more though

I'm not sure. You shouldn't even be able to run any of the current Roms with ZV9 radio.
But if you have been, then there shouldn't be any problem. Flash the ZVC radio from the teeny bin or the OpTimuS threads. If there an issue, you might have to do a factory rest. And it probably wouldn't hurt to flash a stock ZVC ROM. Use the one titled ZVC stock rooted. I think that's what I called it.

Hey mn, just wanted you to know that worked. Thanks a ton. Have a happy holiday! !
Did you ever figure out an actual fix to this? Unless im straight up stock, wifi sits the same yours did. No matter what rom i flash or how many times i back up/restore the stock EFS, its just stuck.

ZV8 -> ZVA?

So I've been reading about how more kernels are supporting ZVA/ZVC radios and I've been using AOSP ROMs so I've been patiently waiting to update from ZV8.
Going back to this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627765
, myself, among others, have used the radio for ZVA in that thread to try to work with an AOSP ROM with a kernel that supports it. However, from first hand experience and from reading what others are saying, it results in a constant fastboot.
This brings me to my question; is the only way to update from ZV8 to ZVA by .tot to stock? Or to flash that radio, can you also do it with a completely stock ROM?
I've searched and read several threads and it all seems very unclear. With the amount of people who did the same thing I did, I think this is necessary to be clearer.

Can not flash a ROM to a friends LG G2! (Sprint) (ZVC)

Hello everyone, I need a little help.
Now I am not new to the rooting ordeal. I have been rooting ever since my old EVO 4G (yes, with those dreaded boot loaders.) My personal phone is running Paranoid Android RC2 (Optimus G) so I know about the standard wiping process for ROMs.
I have successfully rooted my friends G2 (Sprint) and I had TWRP on it, but the TWRP failed to make backups, so now I have Philz Touch (the custom CWM) on it and it backups fine.
My problem is when I try to flash a custom AOSP ROM, the phone only boots to the LG logo. My friend really wants Cyanogenmod on his phone but it refuses to boot. I have searched for an answer but have no idea. This is the first time I have been truly stumped. Other times after some work I figured it out but this one I do not get. Here are all the details:
Sprint LG G2 (LS980)
Kitkat Modem/Update (stock 4.4.2)
Stock ZVC
Rooted by the Autorec.apk. Root works just fine.
Philz touch recovery.
I have even found an AOSP modem you can flash in recovery, but that was no dice. Even messed up the backup on Philz and it wouldn't get past sprint screen until I flashed KK modem.
I have tried many different nightlys/Msnapshots and Mahdi ROM and it won't boot.
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks again for any help guys!
You have to be on ZV8 modem not sure if that's what you meant by aosp modem.

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue, I gave up on trying to install cyanogenmod after numerous failures, luckily there's a ROM out there based on cyanogenmod that will work with all Variants of the LG G2, I think your friend will enjoy this ROM.[emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

I moved on to houstonns aospa build...couple things were broken in CM11. NFC is broke on aospa for the ls980 but I rarely use it. Battery isn't as good as stock I don't think but its hard to tell because I just moved to a new area and have no WiFi and the LTE is spotty.
also...no need for an old radio with aospa. I'm using the KK radio with this
Even with crappy signal I'm still managing about 5 hours SOT.

[Q]Did I do something wrong by not going the bump route for twrp

I have the vs985 version on tmobile. I downgraded from 12b to 10b using kdz method then rooted with stumproot. However I didn't use the bump method for twrp I used flashify for twrp. Everything is working well I've made backups and flashed several roms. Just curious did I do something wrong by not going the bump route and if so what could be the problems down the road?

One variant is unlocked and doesn't need anything bumped. I thought it was T-Mobile but I could be wrong.
You wouldn't have been able to flash things if anything wasn't right.

Madscientist's recommendation sounds best. You don't need to be rooted to TOT a stock image to your phone. Make sure to backup anything important. This requires a PC:

Yes, restoring stock using TOT method is like getting the phone brand new without any modifications, so it should fix any issues you are seeing if the phone was modified in anyway. I have successfully TOTed back to older stock versions numerous times and the update notification would pop up like a mad dog without leaving me alone
The most legit way is to download an app called "root checker," and the rest is self explanatory.

ZVG is Lollipop 5.0
ZVB, ZVD, ZVE is Kit Kat 4.4
ZV7, ZV8, ZVA is Jelly Bean 4.1
So just look for the right files.

Gamersab, this is all for Sprint and Boost Mobile LG G2 LS980. I just saw in your profile that you are using Pakistan - Telenor. This is probably the reason why you aren't receiving OTA updates for your phone... Your phone was probably flashed by Telenor to work on their network. I wouldn't tot back to stock or you might lose network access because the APN settings won't be configured for your provider...
No I bought it from independent seller.
Telenor have nothing to do with it

And will my phone remain unlock after flashing tot ?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
No, tot puts it back on sprint network. If you aren't using sprint, you will not get access.
Any easy way to unlock it ? And will I be able to receive OTA update after unlock ?

Any unlocking will break ota of going through.
Well, the only way I'm getting LP is by flashing custom ROM right?

They are working on a permanent unlock on stock lollipop. There is a thread in sprint development. Main thing, backup your apn-settings file.
That could save you a big headache
