Hello,
I rooted vz9 with one click root. Then used freegee to unlock and install twrp. I could use WiFi fine up until that point. Now no matter what ROM I flash (carbon, CM, PAC) I cannot connect to any WiFi. When I put in the password and hit connect it says saved but never even seems like its trying to actually connect. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks
Did you try another kernel?

You're using ZV9? That radio shouldn't even be working with anything JB. Use the ZVB/ZVC radio.

OK I guess that was an underlying question. So I can flash a vzb/vzc radio even if I'm using a custom ROM like Carbon?
Thanks for the help.

I'm kinda scared to flash kernels. Never really gotten that deep into roms so don't fully understand them. I would like to learn more though

I'm not sure. You shouldn't even be able to run any of the current Roms with ZV9 radio.
But if you have been, then there shouldn't be any problem. Flash the ZVC radio from the teeny bin or the OpTimuS threads. If there an issue, you might have to do a factory rest. And it probably wouldn't hurt to flash a stock ZVC ROM. Use the one titled ZVC stock rooted. I think that's what I called it.

Hey mn, just wanted you to know that worked. Thanks a ton. Have a happy holiday! !
Did you ever figure out an actual fix to this? Unless im straight up stock, wifi sits the same yours did. No matter what rom i flash or how many times i back up/restore the stock EFS, its just stuck.

Not to be a d*** you should post in that thread might get help faster...
Next time back up,
dont feel too bad. we have all done this at one point or another lol.
a few .zips are supposed to be released that might fix this. either way i would try to adb push the new deodex or odex to your internal storage.
You need to go to the irc on freenode. (#Lg-optimus-g)

Dude all the zips posted were safe, just wipe cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, and system then reflash the same zip. We pulled it because no one was wiping correctly, so we had to make it wipe on its own. I'm currently running that zip you used, trust me it works perfectly. Except LG keyboard force closes use voice search to find a keyboard and delete The Qualcomm app and you`ll be good to go.

When I flashed it I lost 3g. Am i the only one ?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
I'm going to chime in here so shark isn't on his own, both zips were safe. You just didn't wipe properly. Odex and deodex don't mix and if you flash one over the other you're going to have problems. I personally flashed the Odex zv9 over my current zv8 only wiping cache and dalvik and haven't had a problem. If you're going to flash deodex, you need to wipe everything.
If you're able to get into recovery just wipe everything (that means data and system) and flash it again

I personally tested V9 along with someone else in irc. They haven't reported losing 3g and I haven't lost 3g. People lost 3g when flashing the Korean firmware, you sure you lost it with V9?

Yeah its strange. I definitely flashed the stock zv9 rom. It may have something to do with the factory reset. I know when i first got the phone my 3g didn't work.

It is also for people that flashed ZVB from ZV9 with a stock rooted ROM, and did not take the radio update in the processes. You should be able to use this on ZV9 too.

unfortunately it does not change the chameleon service.

So I just moved from the Evo Lte and all I want to do is get aosp running on the G2. I am on the kitkat ota update and have rooted using ioroot and have twrp installed with AutoRec. I tried flashing paranoid android and it just sent me into a bootloop... anything I'm missing?

All fixed thanks to the guys on irc. I successfully flashed aosp after I downgraded my modem. I didn't find the system to be too stable so I just reverted by tot to ZVC with root and recovery. Now I'm just trying to get a custom kernel working, what can I do for that?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
So I've been reading about how more kernels are supporting ZVA/ZVC radios and I've been using AOSP ROMs so I've been patiently waiting to update from ZV8.
Going back to this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627765
, myself, among others, have used the radio for ZVA in that thread to try to work with an AOSP ROM with a kernel that supports it. However, from first hand experience and from reading what others are saying, it results in a constant fastboot.
This brings me to my question; is the only way to update from ZV8 to ZVA by .tot to stock? Or to flash that radio, can you also do it with a completely stock ROM?
I've searched and read several threads and it all seems very unclear. With the amount of people who did the same thing I did, I think this is necessary to be clearer.
