[Q] I've tried EVERYTHING -- Kindle Fire cannot be found - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright guys... I've been trying to do this myself for days. Out of no where, my KF 1st gen just got stuck at the "kindle fire" logo. I never rooted it. I never did anything to it. I searched Google and found that this is a common problem with many options to fix. Here I am days later, and I've tried EVERYTHING. I literally cannot find a thread anymore with an option I haven't tried.
I have Windows 8 and I got the drivers installed using the force unsigned drivers stuff. I ended up getting to the point where I can see "Android ADB Interface" and sometimes "Android Composite ADB Interface" in my device manager, with no exclamation points. You'd think I was good to go at that point, but when I use "adb devices" (after kill-server) -- My device isn't listed. I've uninstalled the drivers countless times. I've use KFU. I've tried the Kindle Unbrick Utility v1.1. I've installed the drivers manually over and over and over. NOTHING I do can get the device found.
I even purchased a factory cable. It arrived today, and it doesn't help at all. I found "firekit" and I put Ubuntu on a USB drive. Same outcome... device not found.
I'm losing my mind over here. I cannot figure this out and I promise you... I have tried everything. I hate to start my own threads to ask questions because 99.99% of the time someone else has already had your problem, but I'm so defeated I just have no other choice at this point.
I'm begging for help! :crying:
edit: I just decided to start messing with KFU to see what would happen (despite the ADB Status: Offline message). Doing certain things like telling it to reboot to fastboot mode returns a "device not found". However, telling it to reboot to recovery actually made it reboot. So then I just decided to select option #2 "install permanent root" and then it rebooted and I see "kindle fire" with the blue fire logo. It said "device not found" but it still did that anyways. Currently waiting to see what happens... I figure it can't get any worse than I already am so I just started clicking ****, haha.
edit 2: I literally have no idea wtf just happened, but I just stumbled my way very messily through some stuff that seemed to partially work. My ADB Status said "online" for a second, but it's back offline I'm also in TWRP now, on my KF. I guess I moved forward, somehow. Going to do more research on what to do from this point.

You need twrp version 2.2.2.1 or lower to reinstall stock kindle rom

I'm on twrp 2.6.3.1 and I don't plan on going back to a stock rom, since I've already gone done this path. I'll see if I can get CM11 on here. I feel like something is still a bit off, but I'm trying my best

Is it possible to flash CM11 without loading it to the internal SD card first? I have no way of doing that because the KF currently just hangs at the orange "Kindle Fire" boot logo when I go into normal mode. I tried the Kindle Unbrick Utility's "Stuck at logo" option but it fails
edit: nevermind, I just realized I can mount from TWRP. Durrrrr
edit 2: sweet baby jesus I did it! I'm on CM11. I honestly have no idea why it worked Of course I am working on this for 5+ days and the second I finally make a post, I get it working.

Yes in twrp mount sd card to pc, copy rom and gapps, unmount, wipe data, install rom and gapps wipe caches, reboot

Kindle won't boot in fastboot mode

So I'm installing TWRP, using kindle fire utility, when I press 5 to instal twrp is says: "The Kindle has been told to reboot in fastboot mode" And then it gets stuck at the Kindle Fire boot screen, then I have to put back into normal boot mode, this has been a problem for about 2 hours now and is getting really annoying.
I am having the same problem. I can't even get into fastboot mode it just hangs...

Yes it is.
Did you do the permenate root option first?
I did the tutorial on here that was step by step for noobs. I don't know if it was a permanent version or not but anytime I open the checker it shows as rooted.
I can access adb no problems and it finds my device but whenever I do fastboot it hangs on waiting for device no matter how many times I try.

This is the tutorial that I used.

I was following your guide on flashing FFF and TWRP without Fastboot Cable and when I told it to flash FFF, it bricked my Kindle. Sadly, the unbrick utility has been unable to fix the issue. Was hoping for some advice. I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64.

Stock Kindle Fire in Boot Loop - all types of issues
Hey all, sorry if I'm not posting in the right place, I've been searching the forum for a few days and can't quite find anything that would help my situation.
I would call myself a novice in trying to fix this thing but that would likely insult every other novice here... if that helps in figuring out where I'm at in my knowledge base.
I have a stock kindle, never rooted, no mods or flashes or anything else (no idea what any of that means, just know nothing has been done to it because I'm very basic and haven't played around with anything). Currently the kindle is going through the boot loop (white kindle, orange fire, little animation, blink and repeat). I don't have a factory cable, just a USB to microusb and regular old Kindle Fire charging cable that came with it (plugs into an electricity outlet... on a wall).
So far I've gone through and got drivers from the first thread I found about fixing boot loops using the Kindle Fire Utility, those are currently installed.
I've attached a screenshot of the device details, I read ADB composite interface as a solution to issues others were having so I hope I'm going in the right direction.
I've also tried a few commands on the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) with no success. I'm assuming it is because I didn't know that I should have enabled USB debugging since I'm not from the future. When the Kindle Fire was working, I do remember selecting an option to allow installs (no sure the exact wording) hoping I could get a better browser on the Kindle Fire eventually, but never quite got to that point.
So anywho, after Kindle Fire Utility was unable to get a status (though it did find that the Kindle was online) and ADB wasn't able to change the boot status (but was able to list the device), I tried the Unbrick Utility and had some new issues.
At first it wouldn't find the path to the files/folder. I moved it to C:\ and it was able to find them after that. Trying the "Stuck at Logo" option, I received an "idme: permission denied" message, similar to messages I've seen within ADB.
"Recovery Loop" wouldn't never get past waiting for the device.
No idea if "Framework-Res" would muck up things more or not but I was desperate and tried it. It mentioned the "zergrush" file not being present, I manually made sure to extract it after my anti-virus deleted it the first time, still received the same message. Guessing this again has to do with permissions of some sort.
So at this point, I'm in a bit of a pickle with very limited programming knowledge and/or Kindle Fire know-how to figure out what I need to do.
Any help (step-by-step and hand-holding would be awesome) would be tremendously appreciated.
Thank you guys

Your kindle likely has update 6.3.3, and I do not think this unbrick utility will work,
may need a Factory cable
Using Factory/Fastboot Cable to Flash FFF Bootloader and TWRP Recovery
Erasing userdata
I used the unbrick utility to flash the amazon update to my kindle fire since it had no os and was bricked, but im just wondering how long it takes for the utility to erase userdata. Since its been sitting here around 20 minutes. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

So what if the kindle has been "erasing 'userdata'" for nearly 30 minutes? I bricked this last night when adb push wouldnt work for me after i installed the otterx bootloader and twrp version, and now the kindle has no os and no way for me to push an os onto it.

[Q] Kindle Fire - Flashing the stock ROM failed, is now stuck on logo (bricked)

Started from 6.3.3 on my 1st gen Kindle Fire. I was able to follow instructions to root, convert to OtterX and installed an AICP ROM. I decided I didn't quite like that and wanted to try some other roms. I can't quite remember my train of thought, but for some reason or other I decided to go back to the stock ROM and go from there. I was able to reset to stock partitions and install TWRP 2.2.2.1 and then began flashing the stock rom per shadow's tutorials. However, at about 80% progress on flashing the stock ROM, TWRP froze up. I left it there for a day to see, and after almost 18 hours there had been no change so I did a hard reboot (power button for like 15 seconds) and it shut down. Upon restarting, it tried to boot the stock rom but nothing happens at all.
I've been trying to use Kindle Fire Utility, and Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility, but neither are able to locate the device. I can hear my computer detecting it though, when I plug in and reboot I get the notification sounds that a device is being plugged/unplugged. [edit] It is listed in Device Manager, as Android Phone > Android ADB Interface. But still, no utility like adb, KFU or anything else is able to see the device.
Any thoughts on what I could do to get back to any usable state here? Thanks in advance.

The unbrick utility doesn't work with 6.3.3.
You can't boot to stock if install fails.
Which bootloader? Can you boot to twrp?

Did not realize that about Unbrick, that explains some things.
I've since gotten over this hump and am now working on different issues. I could not get to a bootloader or recovery at all, until I got a fastboot cable. That changed the device listing on my PC to "Android Composite ADB Interface", and then it was recognized by adb and fastboot, which allowed me reflash a bootloader and TWRP, and get it back to booting into the loader instead of the failed stock ROM installation.
Need some help please
Hi, I have a kindle fire 1st gen. The problem is like this, I can`t get into recovery, I can`t get into OS wich is custom, it is stuck at booting. In device manager I can`t see the tablet/kindle/Amazon Kindle/Android phone. When I restart the tablet right before "booting"for a few second appears in Device Manager as Android Phone. The kindle is white and the fire is blue.
Please give me some piece of information about restore it to original. (windows 8.1 x64, twrp 2.8.5 - and I tried to push a lower version but I dont know if it succeded)
Thank you very much!

Thank you very much man, you saved my kindle. Everything is back to normal.

No fastbook/recovery (NOT ROOTED)

I have been up and down all the sites and recovery methods.
ISSUE:
In an attempt to root my Zenfone 2 (2.19.40.22 Lollipop) the tool I was using seemed to get stuck looking for my device. This was after installing a fastboot, or an attempt I believe. After a minute or so I noticed the phone screen was constantly showing the USB Logo.
I can turn on my phone and use it no problem. HOWEVER, I cannot POWER + VOL UP, to enter the bootloader. It just goes back to that USB Logo with the White Bar under it. And I have to power off and ON my phone again to get back to normal operation.
As you can imagine this makes it rather difficult to flash anything or use the ADB Tools whatsoever. Is there anything I can do to get that back, or am I doomed with a phone that can never be rooted?
[The tool that started this whole issue was the TWRPRecovery-Install]
Twrp tool only installs twrp recovery which you need an unlocked boot loader to install, so it should have never been used, can you use adb from the phone in normal operation? Can you get into recovery at all? Sometimes you can boot to recovery from adb shell when phone is in normal boot. Most of the solutions I can think of requires root but if you figure out how to get to recovery you can sideload a full update file to restore everything

Thanks for the info. I clearly followed the wrong guide. I did try the One Click Tool but again it goes straight to the USB logo. Its odd, if it was broken or deleted your imagine there would be a way to fix or reinstall it.

Kindle Keeps restarting.

I had my Kindle 5gen, with CM11 and i wanted to install another rom. The problem was that, because of multiple thing, the recovery was set to amazons, lost the boot access and only could enter in recovery to adb or fastboot. The problem got even worst when i installed a Firmware "update-kindle-37.5.2.2_user_522053820" so it could boot as a fire.
Now it doesnt turn on. I connect it to the PC and i can hear it conecting and disconecting. In Device manager i can see it conecting as a Unknown device and then into MT65xx preloader. The thing is that all this happens fast so i cant do anything to stop it and i tried holding the Power bottom and the power and up bottom as well.
I really dont know what to do now. Search everywhere with no luck.
Tried Amazon Fire 5th gen super tool, tried soupkit with cygwin64 and kindle unbrickv01 and nothing...
