I was following your guide on flashing FFF and TWRP without Fastboot Cable and when I told it to flash FFF, it bricked my Kindle. Sadly, the unbrick utility has been unable to fix the issue. Was hoping for some advice. I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64.
Have a bricked kindle as well, stuck in fastboot mode - tried all-Please Help
I have a bricked kindle as well (8.9). i have followed ALL guide but still get red screen and then fast boot screen.
i have pushed boot and recovery and still get the same . i used first aid package and kfhd, but still boot to fastboot screen.
I would appropriate any help or guidance.

Stock Kindle Fire in Boot Loop - all types of issues
Hey all, sorry if I'm not posting in the right place, I've been searching the forum for a few days and can't quite find anything that would help my situation.
I would call myself a novice in trying to fix this thing but that would likely insult every other novice here... if that helps in figuring out where I'm at in my knowledge base.
I have a stock kindle, never rooted, no mods or flashes or anything else (no idea what any of that means, just know nothing has been done to it because I'm very basic and haven't played around with anything). Currently the kindle is going through the boot loop (white kindle, orange fire, little animation, blink and repeat). I don't have a factory cable, just a USB to microusb and regular old Kindle Fire charging cable that came with it (plugs into an electricity outlet... on a wall).
So far I've gone through and got drivers from the first thread I found about fixing boot loops using the Kindle Fire Utility, those are currently installed.
I've attached a screenshot of the device details, I read ADB composite interface as a solution to issues others were having so I hope I'm going in the right direction.
I've also tried a few commands on the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) with no success. I'm assuming it is because I didn't know that I should have enabled USB debugging since I'm not from the future. When the Kindle Fire was working, I do remember selecting an option to allow installs (no sure the exact wording) hoping I could get a better browser on the Kindle Fire eventually, but never quite got to that point.
So anywho, after Kindle Fire Utility was unable to get a status (though it did find that the Kindle was online) and ADB wasn't able to change the boot status (but was able to list the device), I tried the Unbrick Utility and had some new issues.
At first it wouldn't find the path to the files/folder. I moved it to C:\ and it was able to find them after that. Trying the "Stuck at Logo" option, I received an "idme: permission denied" message, similar to messages I've seen within ADB.
"Recovery Loop" wouldn't never get past waiting for the device.
No idea if "Framework-Res" would muck up things more or not but I was desperate and tried it. It mentioned the "zergrush" file not being present, I manually made sure to extract it after my anti-virus deleted it the first time, still received the same message. Guessing this again has to do with permissions of some sort.
So at this point, I'm in a bit of a pickle with very limited programming knowledge and/or Kindle Fire know-how to figure out what I need to do.
Any help (step-by-step and hand-holding would be awesome) would be tremendously appreciated.
Thank you guys

Your kindle likely has update 6.3.3, and I do not think this unbrick utility will work,
may need a Factory cable
Using Factory/Fastboot Cable to Flash FFF Bootloader and TWRP Recovery
Erasing userdata
I used the unbrick utility to flash the amazon update to my kindle fire since it had no os and was bricked, but im just wondering how long it takes for the utility to erase userdata. Since its been sitting here around 20 minutes. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

So what if the kindle has been "erasing 'userdata'" for nearly 30 minutes? I bricked this last night when adb push wouldnt work for me after i installed the otterx bootloader and twrp version, and now the kindle has no os and no way for me to push an os onto it.

I have a kindle fire with no OS, it has TWRP recovery and I was trying to wipe android 4.0 from it and re install 6.2.2 but I accidentally deleted the OS and any hope of re installing it. I cannot communicate with the device whatsoever using kindle utility or Kindle fire unbricker. I played with the drivers for awhile in device manager to no avail. it currently sits in 'Disk Drives' as Amazon Kindle USB device but I cannot put anything on it because it it's showing up as a proper driver or w/e. when I turn it on I get what I believe is the firefirefire triangle and if I choose to I can access TWRP, but when I left it fully boot I get a black lighting. Any help is extremely appreciate. I did look around for a bit before posting my question and found nothing that fit my problem but if there is such a thread I'm sorry I posted an unnecessary one.
have you tried mounting your kindle in twrp if you can then just flash a new ROM and you should be good to go

I thought I already tried that but I went back and fiddle with a few settings and got access to my kindle, I went looking for the kindle 6.2.2 stock rom and couldn't find a download, I need to find a stock download because brother plans on selling this kindle, I'm only helping because I was the one who rooted and put android 4.0 on there.
TLR; Where can I get kindle fire stock rom at?

Okay, I realize I tend to come off a little "jerky" sometimes, but I really am trying to help. When you hijack a thread that's several months old and post a problem that seemingly has nothing to do with the OP, only to later reveal that there is much more to your problem (even after being suggested to do it differently), it makes other people that would normally be willing to help, think twice about getting involved. Nobody wants to have to ask 50 different questions to get to the root of the problem. You need to realize that the people who would help, probably don't want to do more work than absolutely necessary. And you should be respectful of that if you want some quality assistance from the people who might be able to solve your problem.
So once again, and respectfully, I suggest you click on the link I gave you, read it, do any suggested research and follow the directions given in the post.
Hey I'm having the same problem. I tried to root my kinble fire and accidentilly wiped the stockos off it but I have TWRP on the device, however I am not able to mount the device using twrp to put a ROM on the device to boot to. Any help getting the device to be recognized by the computer and mounting it would be a great help and any other info about installing a ROM to my kindle would also be a big help.

I actually figured everything out about 2 hours after my post. In order to get the Kindle recognized by my pc I had to change it over to USB composite device then I was able to load a ROM on it and I am now enjoying jelly bean 4.1 on the kindle now. I have not been able to restore the kindle os but I am assuming that if I look long enough for the kernal and firmware I will be able to restore it. Not that I have any plans to seeing as I have a dedicated android tablet now that does everything I want it and need to do anyways, I read on the kindle for like 3 months when it first came out, not worried about reading on it any more besides there's an app for it. Anyways thanks for the reply.
Hi, sorry if it is bad manners to post in threats months old but I am also having a similar problem with my kindle fire.
Today I spent hours rooting it and trying to get the google play store to work on it - all in a dangerously haphazard manner. It was really reckless of me.
Somewhere in the process I used KFU 0.9.9 after restoring to stock and re-rooting, then after a reboot the OS would't show up. it seemed like it loaded and everything but I couldn't see anything after it loaded past TWRP. I wiped system, and now am without an OS and only TWRP to use.
Some details:
Mounting works
Flashing stock is NOT WORKING. This is my main problem. I don't know any other method of restoring an OS; I do not know how sideloading with ADB works, or if that would help at all.
Much apologies in advanced for my juvenile-ty
thanks

What do you mean by saying your KF has not FIREFIREFIRE?

First of all, FIREFIREFIRE doesn't just magically install itself. What did you use to root the device? I'm sure whatever you used to root your device installed FIREFIREFIRE.
And your Kindle isn't bricked, it's just in the wrong bootmode.

the 4sec interval signals to fastboot mode! You got to enter necessary commands during to stay in fastboot mode and flash the custom recovery TWRP and than re-install update.zip(kindle update bin renamed). consider the link below for twrp and root manual install plus relevant commanline, those commands will help to flash and boot into twrp mode after installing it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24129239
P.s.remember to point to the directory containing the fastboot and adb command files in my case c:/program files (x86)/android/android-sdk/platform-tools/ ALSo, in future to factory reset the device, install the kindle update.zip (renamed kindle update bin file downloaded from amazon kindle site)
how do i enter the commands? with a program if so give me a link to get it plz

kindle fire utility 9.5
Remove and install your drivers for your kindle fire. Than install kindle fire utility found here in xda forums. Install and run the utility select option 1 and select normal 4000 boot mode. Plug in your kindle fire and turn it on. This worked for me. Booted right up just be patient it may take a few minutes.
what are the drivers and where do i find them and how do i reinstall them?

<shakes head in disappointment>
With all due respect, what on earth made you think it was a good idea to root the Kindle with such an obvious lack of computer literacy? Were you aware of the risks?
Your problem is simple to fix but it requires at least some basic working knowledge of a computer. Do yourself a huge favor and Google search "Kindle Fire USB drivers" to find out. And not to be hateful but I think it's highly unlikely that many people here would be willing to go through the arduous process of explaining how to install device drivers.
I would suggest doing some research on the matter and come back with a better foundation to work from.
Otherwise I think your best bet would be to revert back to stock and forget about rooting all together (requires research).

No never mind the previous post solved it I got the drivers right after I posted 2 days ago it is fixed and up and running now thank you for the trouble I forgot to post back :/
I followed a few tutorials to root my Kindle Fire HD 7". Fastboot and ADB worked and I had recovery installed on it prior to having it bricked. At least I'm pretty sure the red screen means it's bricked; it won't do anything now. I ended up buying a fastboot cable on eBay so I could try recovering it, and that works. I can get it into fastboot easily, but the restore process doesn't work! I tried restoring from the backup I made, I tried doing a standard restore, I tried doing both of the above using the standard cable after getting it into fastboot... Nothing works and I always get the red screen when I finish and try to boot. I have no idea what I could possibly be doing wrong. I've scoured the forums and found no answers to this particular issue. Can anyone help me?
Thank you.
Can u see the device from fastboot?
Is the system.IMG u are using a sparse image?
In pretty sure the "wall of fire" means you are bricked, but I didn't think you could get to fastboot once you had it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I can see the Kindle in Device Manager while it is in fastboot, if that is what you mean. It is listed as Kindle Fire > Android ADB Interface.
As for the image, I'm sorry but I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. I first tried restoring from the image I had backed up of my Kindle when it was functioning through KFFirstAide, then I tried restoring it to 7.2.3 in the same utility. I also verified that the .img files where all in the KindleBackup folder. I also tried the Kindle Fire HD System.img Recovery Tool, but that didn't work either.
EDIT: I just realized I posted this in the Kindle Fire 2 section by mistake, and not the HD 7" section. Oops. :/
If a moderator could move it for me I'd appreciate it.

Well I found this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273638
And I tried the first option to flash the 7.2.3 bootloader. That made the kindle fire logo appear and blink slowly, but it never booted. I tried restoring after that and it red screened again. I tried the second option in that thread and it's doing something similar, but it still doesn't seem to want to boot.
I'm at a loss here. EDIT: It was taking forever, but I finally got the welcome screen to show up. That thread worked. At first it didn't but I had to navigate the command prompt into the right folder to ensure that it could see the images.
Thanks for the Info. This might help someone in the future.
Good luck with things

Hey guys, I've been lurking pretty hard the past couple days and can't find a thread that addresses my question, so here goes:
I have a 1st gen Kindle Fire that I don't sue and wanted to put a ROM on it. I grabbed KFU v0.9.6, used the install drivers bat, then I believe I ran permanent root with superuser and TWRP recovery install. This all worked, I used TWRP to create a backup, restored my kindle to factory, and then I put the latest Cyanogenmod rom on it and installed that. This is the point that I'm at now, where I can start my kindle and it boots, but I can't get into recovery mode (I didn't install FireFireFire because I didn't know what it was) and so it boots from the kindle logo to Cyanogenmod, where it hangs as long as I keep it powered on. I've tried reinstalling drivers and running KFU in hopes I can get adb shell to recognize it, and although it does say it's "Online", the boot status is unknown, so it isn't able to reboot it, and adb shell just doesn't recognize it, although adb devices does.
I hope that all made sense, let me know if I need to elaborate on anything or post any screen shots, as I'd be glad to, I just don't know what you need. I'm hoping I haven't bricked it, and that there's some way to get the kindle file system recognized or something, but I haven't been able to figure it out on my own.
Thanks for the help, and again feel free to ask for any sort of info/screenshots.
(Windows 7 x64, Kindle Fire 1st Gen, KFU v0.9.6)
Never Mind
Try KFUBU.
I believe that its not bricked. Try using Kindle Fire Unbrick utility. Pretty neat and easy to use..
I think you should have installed FireFireFire and used the latest KFU, though. Just an opinion.
Anyways, try out the Unbrick Utility. I can't post links here as I'm a new member!
Hit "Thanks" if I helped!
Yea, that's what I figured. I think I had a tutorial from when KFU didn't need firefirefire? I could be making that up. Anyway, thanks for the idea, I'll hopefully try that in the next hour, otherwise I'll be back in a week since I'm gonna be out of town.
Thanks!
Started from 6.3.3 on my 1st gen Kindle Fire. I was able to follow instructions to root, convert to OtterX and installed an AICP ROM. I decided I didn't quite like that and wanted to try some other roms. I can't quite remember my train of thought, but for some reason or other I decided to go back to the stock ROM and go from there. I was able to reset to stock partitions and install TWRP 2.2.2.1 and then began flashing the stock rom per shadow's tutorials. However, at about 80% progress on flashing the stock ROM, TWRP froze up. I left it there for a day to see, and after almost 18 hours there had been no change so I did a hard reboot (power button for like 15 seconds) and it shut down. Upon restarting, it tried to boot the stock rom but nothing happens at all.
I've been trying to use Kindle Fire Utility, and Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility, but neither are able to locate the device. I can hear my computer detecting it though, when I plug in and reboot I get the notification sounds that a device is being plugged/unplugged. [edit] It is listed in Device Manager, as Android Phone > Android ADB Interface. But still, no utility like adb, KFU or anything else is able to see the device.
Any thoughts on what I could do to get back to any usable state here? Thanks in advance.

The unbrick utility doesn't work with 6.3.3.
You can't boot to stock if install fails.
Which bootloader? Can you boot to twrp?

Did not realize that about Unbrick, that explains some things.
I've since gotten over this hump and am now working on different issues. I could not get to a bootloader or recovery at all, until I got a fastboot cable. That changed the device listing on my PC to "Android Composite ADB Interface", and then it was recognized by adb and fastboot, which allowed me reflash a bootloader and TWRP, and get it back to booting into the loader instead of the failed stock ROM installation.
Need some help please
Hi, I have a kindle fire 1st gen. The problem is like this, I can`t get into recovery, I can`t get into OS wich is custom, it is stuck at booting. In device manager I can`t see the tablet/kindle/Amazon Kindle/Android phone. When I restart the tablet right before "booting"for a few second appears in Device Manager as Android Phone. The kindle is white and the fire is blue.
Please give me some piece of information about restore it to original. (windows 8.1 x64, twrp 2.8.5 - and I tried to push a lower version but I dont know if it succeded)
Thank you very much!

Hi, thank you for your input.
After I connect to wall charger, the tablet powers up, and I can select recovery or normal. Either one I select nothing happens, keeps saying booting.
