So coming from a nexus 5 and and moto X I quite like the recents button. I hate how lg have made a button for menu which is pointless (in my opinion). Is there any to change without root. If not how do I do it with root?

It is a KitKat thing, not an LG thing. Without root, just hold the Home button (arrow up) for a second longer and you will have recents. With root, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2719327&page=2

Hi!
I want to share a little streak with lastest .96 fw.
First install Screen off and lock from google play, then press and hold home button, it will show 2 options, 1st for open google now, 2nd for screen off. Choose screen off and choose another option always... So every time you press and hold home button your screen will turn off.
Btw, on .96 fw, doulbe tap on home butturn to open recent app menu.

This idea is really weird, but thanks for the share.

Nice idea/tip but I'm using "long Home" to call recents.
tnx

It's like that in stock based.
I'm using 2.0.5b home launcher, "menu" button calls g+ and "home" calles recents with small apps.

I'm personally trying to bring all the fixes to 211 from 96 to have a full mods capability, to stay without any wipes, and not to use this crapped home button. Can't decompile things using my phone, so using an oldschool method

Are there any 4.4 based ROMs with the option to change order of the softkeys?

Never mind 'order', what was Google thinking replacing the 'settings' action with a 'task manager' instead? Huh? Why would you ever want that? Coming from a Note 2 this is laughable, and yes I already had the 'three dot' option with my rom there too.
I've got an s4 and before that the s3 so I'm really used to having my buttons go menu-home-back and the stock layout of back-home-recents really messes me up, I always end up opening recents when I'm trying to go back.

Hi,
I am playing a game which I need to take large amounts of screen shots.
I don't want to break the power and volume buttons. Is there a way to take screen shots with some gesture or soft button on Nexus 7 2013?
Thanks.

nova launcher gesture to screenshot?
You are not going to break the buttons. I have devices 4 yes old I still use (fascinate & charge) and I don't see posts about broken buttons in those forums.

You can assign a gesture in Nova to open the ScreenshotIt app, then either take the screenshot, or, activate the overlay screenshot button, go to the desired screen, and snap.

Just use the rom Cyanogenmod which will help you set the screenshot when long press the Home Button
hello everyone,
Like a HTC One M7 capacitive buttons design, is there a hidden trick or app that can remap/change the Home button to Menu button?
Thanks

In the stock unrooted rom? No.
But just about all custom roms have the ability to do this. (At least AOSP roms anyway. I don't have much experience with TouchWiz custom roms)
hi the lg optimus g pro has the back button on the left side but I am not a lefty so it's very invconvenient for me to reach my finger over to the left side to press back button especially on a big phone, is there a way i can switch it to the right side?
This isn't really a great one handed device anyways... I believe there are button remapping apps... If not jus use xda search... Good luck

If you're rooted, there are several xposed modules out there that you can use to remap your buttons. For example, I use gravity box.

If you're rooted, use lmt launcher.
