[Q] Take a photo while filming?

Hello everyone,
I asked a question about the Sony Xperia S. Is it possible to take a photo while filming? With a MOD? Or application?
(Like some mobile phone from Samsung or Nexus).
Thank you in advance for your answers.
(Sorry for my english, but I'm Belgian. I do my best )

We will get that on JB. Sadly, the photo will be only 1 MP.

You have the whole UI on screen, besides the worser quality.

I want to ask is there any way to record proper smooth 1080p video on JB?
Like the old times on 2.3 ROMS.

I can see there is a mention to use it on a stock JB. I forgot to mention I am on a Cyanogen based rom.

This has been confirmed. But some of the bugs are fixed.

Great, we have a phone with "capability" of recording 1080p video.... but only in theory... official software doesn't allow us to record proper 1080p videos..... GREAT SONY!!! JUST GREAT!!! GOOD JOB!!!!

The recorded file is fine . The problem in the hw acceleration, that causes lag in video playback

Nice camera app.. Good features, but these are the following things that doesn't work..
1. No 12mp, max is 8mp. 1080p full HD works better than stock because of better focusing.
2. HDR wont work because of h/w.
3. Others are as mentioned in op.

[MOD] Jishnu's Camera™ [ Test Version 2 - SA 20Mp - HFR 60 fps]

Disclaimer : I'm not responsible for anything that happens to your device. Make sure you always have a nandroid backup.
Note : I don't have this device, but many people contacted me to make a mod for it and i'm trying my best to help.
Changelog
Test Version V1
Normal Videos @1080P & 720P now record at 45.5 FPS flat.
HDR Videos @1080P & 720P Record at 35 FPS flat.
Video Bitrate for 1080P & 720P bumped to 80.5 Mb/s
Camera Opening time decreased to 100ms from 500ms
Installation V1
Download the rar file
Extract it and replace the files as such
SemcCameraUi.apk with the original SemcCameraUi.apk & Odex if avaiable.
Set Permissions to rw-r--r--.
Replace the media_profiles.xml from /system/etc with modded one.
Set Permissions to rw-r--r--.
Reboot.

Edit: It works on stock rom, but like any other camera app is suffering from lack of iso changes becouse Z1 has locked that feature for third partly apps...

That is 10Mp mate.. 8Mp is 3264x2448.
I'm trying to fix many things on this cam but I have no files to deodex it. And I need feedback for the sony test cam also.

Welcome! If you could give the sony cam a go, it will be nice.. hehe

Sony camera doesn't appear to work, icon disappears, tried rebooting and setting proper permissions. Placing back original file and it's back to normal.

For now I'm sticking with stock camera because I'm using xposed module for 20mpx in auto mod and Google camera (from you).
I found (I said that already) Google camera is better with moving objects so I'll use them both
...but...I'll follow your thread and updates in stock camera and will definitely use it when you add more features in it...
Once again - tnx for apps...
This community (new Xperia devices) desperately need fresh MODs and apps...

Custom rom + sony interface

Hello guys, I'm thinking about installing a ROM based on different kernel (cm etc.), to upgrade my super xperia S to newer android. But I hate nexus style. I love sony's one. Any ideas a about good composition? Rom which looks like sony interface, and with Sony apps? Appreciate it!

Try any rom with honami style and unlock your bootloader then install any kernel
you can install media apps for sony Z2 on CM11 but you cannot use all walkman features

You can try different ROM and use these themes to get the Sony UI look:

You can also install ported apps of Sony, most of them work. I'm on Carbon ROM and I have the ported apps such as Wlakman, Album which work very good.
