Hi sorry if this has been discussed already but I couldn't find anything like my situation. I just upgraded my n7 2013 flo model to the deb LTE version and for what ever reason my magnetic case doesn't work with this version of the tablet. I close the lid and the screen stays on I even tried using a regular magnet to see if it would activate the sensor and nothing any one have any idea what's going on? Its 100% stock except for being rooted and custom recovery

My magnetic cover is working on my deb, but when i've tried it with a regular magnet, nothing happens.
two choices for you :
It's an Hardware problem, so >> RMA
Your case magnet has runaway Or for an obscur reason, the magnetic cover support is deactivated in Kernel.

I have the T-Mobile LTE and occasionally the home buttons+capacitive buttons including power button quit working. Often times forcing me to hard reset. I exchanged it hoping it would solve problem. I had a total of 2. The first one I rooted and installed xposed framework not tripping knox. This one is complete stock with no root. Is anyone else having this issue? I would assume 2 brand new tablets that it's got to be software. Also should mention with the first tablet I flashed new software via KIES. I am thinking of tripping knox and flashing a ROM. I don't see any ROMs for 607T but read 605 works just fine. Before I trip Knox just making sure it will likely solve this issue. I didn't see anyone else report it. I would rather not trip Knox. Tablets I don't care about root and flashing ROMs like I do my phone.
No one has this issue? Am I just really unlucky to get 2 defective tablets in a row?

I have done pretty much everything with my 607 and have not run into this problem. Only problem I have seen is the wifi bugging out and not enabling which a reboot fixes.
I had that problem as well. I formated everything, flashed stock firmware via odin, still had problem then flashes via kiea and for right now it seems to be working as I intended.
Had the same thing happen to me buttons totally unresponsive. Rebooted with long press of power button didn't help. Tried booting with power button and home button with no change. Several reboots latter and they are working again no clue why. This is completely stock setup, only had the note 2 days don't know if I should return to T-Mobile since it is working now.
I say return it, I know one thing that helps me is if you power off the tablet and holding the power button for a minute. Let it power on and off a few times, that usually does the trick. I think there is something wrong with T-Mobile hardware. This issue persisted with other roms. I don't use aosp roms because I love touchwiz integration of the spend.
I found that the magnet on the folio case was causing my issue when the magnet was folded over the back when opened it would cause the screen to go off and the capacitive buttons to be unresponsive. Power button worked normally......new case and problem solved.

I have this issue and has been driving me nuts. i will have to try using my tablet without the case to see if it continues happening. I too have a folio case with magnets.
Same thing with me. Really frustrating

Thanks for that. I was getting worried that my home button was fried because I fell asleep on it in bed and I may have someone depressed it and broke with my weight overnight. Moving the magnets restored functionailty and I am ordering a new case today.

I recently got a "credit card case" with a magnetic flap on it that "sticks" when it closes fir my S7 Edge but noticed it causes the S7 Edge capacitive lights to not work. If I pull the S7 Edge out of the bottom of the case, the lights come on instantly and back off when I re-insert it into the case or even get it close to the case. What would a probably fix be you think? I really like the case but don't want magnets erasing my MicroSd (but the MicroSd is way up towards top of phone so doubt it'd erace my card but made me curious too. Any ideas what might fix this, or simply using a different case? I hope maybe there's a way to fix...I really like the case and the magnetic flap is nice and the case protects well and feels great (one of the best credit card cases I've seen and used) any ideas peeps? Thank you.
It's a T-Mobile S7 Edge bybthe way if that matters but posted here since it's a direct issue the same as you're all (most of you) are having with your magnetic folios.. Just an FYI. THANKS

Hey All
Today I picked up an HTC One M8.
Have set it up and only had it up and running for a few hours.
I plugged it in to charge using the charger that came with it and noticed that the screen would become erratic. Phantom touches would register making it very hard to use. Have tried it in different sockets but the issue remains.
I have tried a spare charger that I have in the house and the issue is not present.I know the HTC charger is a little different in that it supports some kind of quick charger, so its not really a like for like swap I guess.
Is there a chance that the included charger is faulty? Or could the phone be at fault?
I really don't want to have to return it but will it it looks like its the phone that has an issue.
Thanks
Well, at this point its hard to guess from here. Can you upload some snaps/videos ? It would be helpful for anyone who visits the thread. It doesn't take much time either. :good:
Is it a brand new phone? if not I think the digitizer is going bad.

Yeah it's brand new. Phone is fine off charge and when using other charges. It's just the stock charger tat seems to cause issues.

Do you have a case on your phone? I have a UAG case and the charger sometimes doesn't fully click leading to that behaviour. Without the case there is no problem using the phone while charging.
Maybe the stock charger is faulty. Probably the wires has lost continuity.
I have the same issue with a unofficial charger (2.0A).
No issue with original charger (1.5A)
You are not alone
I also have a HTC One M8 with the same problem!
I have to disconnect the USB cable so that I can use the phone correctly without 'phantom touches' activating things I didn't want.
A classic example is pressing the back button will more often than not take me to google now. It's not supposed to do that. It only ever does this when charging.
Also when using any app the phantom touches will activate things I didn't want it to. Some apps will indicate which button you clicked and this is the perfect way to see this problem in action, because buttons will be clicking that you didn't even touch.
It's almost like the touch screen becomes ridiculously sensitive and even just a touch of breeze from a fan can activate a phantom touch.
My phone has done this since brand new. I've had the phone for around 3 months now. There was a software update since I had the phone and it didn't fix the problem.
It does this for me with the stock USB cable, samsung USB cable, generic USB cable, charging from AC/PC/Car it doesn't matter.
It even has the problem when the battery is at 100% with the cable connected.
The only way to accurately use the phone is to unplug the cable!
I'm in Australia on the Telstra network

HTC Sense: 6.0

Erratic Touch on Verizon HTC One M8
This has been driving me mad.
Got Verizon Variant Red HTC One M8 near the beginning of August.
I bought a spigen clear case, a longer usb cable, and a 2AMP charger to use at work. I was chewing through the battery while playing Clash of Clans on it at work.
I pretty much always turn on visual feedback for touch on my smartphone now and noticed sometimes while playing Clash I would see multiple touches go in a horizontal line across my screen (if you do not know you play clash of clans in a horizontal position so technically the lines would run vertically down the phone)
I also have a tempered glass screen on my phone so I figured it was some kind of freak nuance with the case pushing the glass or something.
Bought a UAG Case for my phone, few days later I notice the same behavior, bought cases have a small "lip" to protect the screen if you drop the phone face down, I again figured this must be the culprit and bought a new case.
Barely there Clear case by casemate, I have had the case for 3 days and today is my first day at work since, immediately upon connecting my charger I noticed the erratic touch behavior.
At this point I realized it was never the case, it has to be something with charging in general or the specific charger I am using.
Anyone got any clue what is actually causing this issue?

Hi guys, any news?
I'm experiencing the same issue and this is driving me mad.
Experiencing this with different chargers. My cover is a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Metal Slate...if I put it off, theres no problem while charging
Greetings from Switzerland
Hi guys,
I have faced the issue as well. In my case, if I charge the phone using the dot view case then the touchscreen behaves wrongly. However, if I charge the phone with no case at all it works fine.
Anyway after I flashed the latest firmware (.401.6) the problem is gone. What firmware do you have?
Cheers.
Hi Guys,
For anyone interested, I have just noticed that it happened depending on the charger also.
Cheers.
I have the same problem
Using htc one m8 developer edition 4.4.2. This issue comes with every charger. With or without case or screen protection.
Yep, I've noticed this issue as well. Any solution?

If it's brand new, take it back for a replacement. The sooner the better because the longer you wait, the more they may think it is user caused.
I just got my phone replaced due to bad mic. I had a brand new one on release day and now I got a refurb both suffered the same issues. It's not always that it does it but it certainly pisses you off. Same symptoms as the op describes, I have yet to find a permanent solution.
This is so super irritating. I feel you. I just found out though that it occurs when I have my case on.. So whenever i use the phone when I'm charging I have to pull the case off. It really doesn't make any sense lol but this is my workaround for this bug.
I also have the same problem
It seems to occur when the phone is close to full charge. Every app goes crazy. When I unplug the charger it returns to normal.

I have the same issue with mine; I found a website which said to do the following:
Using two fingers swipe down on the status bar then touch the gear icon > Display & Gestures > G-Sensor calibration
Place your phone on a flat surface then touch Calibrate.
After the calibration process has finished tap Ok.
You should also calibrate the finger touch on your screen to deal with the keyboard issue.
Open “Settings” and go to “Language and Keyboard”
Tap “HTC Sense Input”
Tap “Advanced”
Tap “Calibration tool” (Calibrate your screen for a better touch experience)
Now you are asked to type the given sentence
One done, Calibration Complete message appears
Hit “Reset Calibration” to reset screen to factory default

It's still present, but it hasn't been as bad - I turned on the visual feedback in the developers settings, and you can watch the cursor fly all about the screen like it's possessed!
Same issue here, on the latest software. This is my second m8 with the same issues.
My girlfriend bought tab s 10.5 and ordered case from China. And now it's blocking randomly even when cover is open. I think it's because magnetic sensor and didn't find out how to turn this function off. And option in "Accesories" isn't working. What should I do?

1. Backup, then factory reset or try update your firmware manually with Odin (rule out software).
2. Return the device if possible.
3. The only way i know is to disable the sensor in the kernel compile. I haven't done it in my kernel because the sensor is a feature. So, if she's rooted, i could compile a stock-like kernel for you to flash (warranty void) and test.
Another solution: buy an original cover instead of a "cheap one" from China!
You can disable the cover functionality in settings

Did you replace the combo or just the touchscreen? Did you test it before when everything hooked up before taping it to the bezel? What kind of tape did you use? You may want to post a higher resolution thumb of the area where the ribbons connect to the board.

Nope I didn't test it but I put some tape that is easy to remove so i just removed it checked all connections, nothing seems wrong. I attached some new photos (best quality i can get right now). Also I replaced the full combo lcd+touch. Thanks for the reply.

Nothing looks out of the ordinary in those pics, though I don't see how one can replace the combo without removing the boards. Can you explain that as some step in the procedure might cause this. Instead of guessing too much, let's take one thing at a time.

Any revision number on the digitizer? I know that there are different revisions of the daughter board and that if your tablet came with a 1.3 board and you replaced it with a 1.4 board the touch would not work, but I don't know if it is the same for the touch screen

I looked at the clip, and it seems ok, except the emi tape hanging from the frame would not stick to the back of the lcd that way. I don't know that it should make a difference since yours is totally unresponsive to any touch. Same case with the missing one going on top of the touchscreen connectors.
There have been cases with other Asus models where you'd need to re-flash the touch firmware before it works. If the daughter board had been working before you replaced the screen, you can either (1) re-flash a stock rom (444 to be sure) using fastboot, or (2) if you're on custom Kitkat (I don't know about Lollipop), re-flash said firmware following the instructions HERE. Remember you have to have one of those kernels mentioned therein installed for the firmware to stick.
I don't know that the touchscreen version should make a difference since they all use the same rom wih the same touch firmware embedded. Unless the rom contains many versions that would automatically select one fitting your hardware version, in which case you should flash the official Kitkat.
Failing all the above, I'd conclude the touchscreen itself is bad. It's a rare occurrence, but has been known to happen. If you bought it from a reputable seller, you should be able to get a replacement. Don't hesitate to ask if something is unclear. Good luck.
I have the same problem. I bought two digitizers and lcd, and both times the problem is the same. I checked for a rev number on the digitizer, but with no luck. The tape I used was M3 300LSE. Already flashed 4.4.4 stock firmware on Flo kernel, but it didn't work.
I can't believe I bought TWO broken digitizers from two different sellers. I will retry the flash...
I tried to see if there is any recognizable serial number on digitizer, and I explain what I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...xus-7-2013-touch-screen-unresponsive-t3035124
I'm sorry I'm posting about same issue in two different threads, i did open the other one cause I didn't see this one...
I've been getting a lot of android 5 updates recently, and on both my 2013 and original Nexus 7, the magnetic covers no longer seem to wake the tablets. I wouldn't think the sensors in both of them would break at the same time . I remember the tablet had this problem when it was first released, then updates fixed it. Have they gone back to the original code again to preserve battery time or something? Has anyone else seen this?
I have 2 n7 (2013) one completely stock, the other custom rom and kernel both work with my Moko magnetic flipcover
