Hello..
I was going to ask this in the developers forum but apparently since I'm a n00b to the forums I'm not allowed to post yet. I flashed my M919 with the kitkat Insane ROM (v5 then v6), then flashed the NB4 modem with ODIN, no issues along the way..
The ROM is working very well, but I no longer have signal strength bars-- if I have coverage I get a 4G (or whatever) with up/down arrows showing traffic, but no bars. Calls/data/etc all work fine. Turned off WIFI and tried different power indicators in settings to see if it'd bring me my bars back.
Just wondering if this is normal and I should live without it?
thanks much
That's a known issue with that rom. Most people have success with adding them by installing xposed framework and then using wanam or xblast to get them back.

Thank you that did the trick. I installed xposed and then fished aroubd in wanam xposed and xblast. Had to tell wanam to show 6 bars vice the default 5 and then it came back. Odd.
Thanks again!

I'm not trying to be an asshole here but the forum rules clearly state to read the forums before you post. There is a reason for that, your problem has probably been discussed millions of times and there is a provided solution for the problem. The OP clearly states why the signal bars are lost when flashing this rom. If you would have read further into the thread for the rom, there are numerous posts about it telling you how to fix it. I am glad that your problem is fixed and you found a workaround solution to it. Next time read before you post as it states in the forum rules that your question may have already been discussed.

As title suggests. Using the recent one released on here with HTC Sense v1.0c.
Used to only get HSDPA with stock firmware.
Thought I saw a thread on here discussing it but I couldn't find it.
Can anyone help please?
use search button or simply search the development section theres many fixes for this
You are getting HSDPA, it's just the icon not being displayed - as said there are fixes for it
As I said I did try searching but couldn't find anything.
I'll have another look.
Appreciate the reply.
I can't find the fix either!

who would of thought people still don't know about this
it's native in froyo roms that there is no H icon, speed tests will show you are using HSDPA, it even says in your phone settings...
just download a custom notification bar/theme such as blackbar for defrost.
I know its not in the stock roms and its never really bothered me. I don't want a custom theme I just want the H icon to add to my current rom. But don't know if there is more to it than just dropping the icon into a certain folder through recovery.
There is more to it. It is about editing the framework-res.apk fil on the system partition. And as it just uses the 3g icon you will probarbly also have to edit some xml files. Just about the same as done with the battery mod
I'm sure there are a simple 'update' to get the H icon. Going through the many pages for each ROMS, it comes up quite a few times.

Not everyone is glued to this forum following every little Android thing. Rooting and using ROMs is very new to me. I only started 4 days ago. But thanks for being "accommodating".
I did a search and nevertheless the answers appeared. I then did the keypad trick with *#*#4636#*#* and noticed my phone IS on HSDPA, just not displaying a H.
I'm very content with that so problem solved.
Thank you to everyone that replied.

Wow, to be so demeaning to someone and then thank them for giving them the answer. Nice.

OK I read that back and probably came across as a c***.
I run a forum and one of my pet peeves is dismissive veteran members when they interact with noobs. Your tone suggested I should know it all. My tone suggested I'm a penis.
I did find the answer before reading your post. I apologise for the dickishness.

HSDPA icon is included by default AFAIK, the framework just needs to be built with it enabled.
I saw a few people posting this buried within various threads with no answers so I thought I would post to see if anyone can answer this one..
Before flashing I had a 4G icon for the data icon in the top bar. Since rooting and flashing a custom ROM this has reflected a 3G icon. I figured this was the ROM I was using "Eagles Blood" but found numerous other Telus users in other forum's mentioning the same thing...
Does anyone have any suggestions on changing this back to a 4G icon.
It honestly makes no difference to how the phone works. I'm still getting incredible speeds but thought I would ask as I wouldn't mind changing it back.

going back to ICS.
1st is the heating issue. I remember this being a huge issue with my HTC Touch Pro 2 back in the day.
2nd is roaming guard.
With Gingerbread, I can turn off the roam guard for calls and data. When I tried one of the first ICS builds at the beginning of this month (March), I couldn't find that anywhere. I live in an area where I am constantly roaming and it gets annoying to do the step of acknowledging that I am roaming before answering or placing a call.
Anyone know of any fixes?
Don't have either of these. On on Mijjah rom 3.1 and roam guard is in the settings and my phone never gets hot. Maybe u should try it again.

I see that you a somewhat a new member...so ill try to be nice Might I suggest posting in a thread already relating to the ics ROM(s) you are having problems with.... They may have fixes already or it may be a known issue....
Rather than post a thread... Try searching for your problem.... (if you did im sorry but im sure most would agree this thread is "clutter"...... Props for not posting this in the development section)
As for you problems I experience not one with fc18

Anytime I've ever been flagged to allow roaming it has offered me the choice of never seeing the message again. Does your phone give you that message?

Got to agree do do t see the reason for your thread especially if the last time you tried ICS was a month ago. Your problems I have never seen. I tried CM9 and Gummy/Codename. Try it again...... simple solution

also fc22 does not have any heating issues at fc15/fc18 in my usage.
Also, these threads are pointless, its well known that ICS are still in test build stages. If you dont wanna deal with the bugs, then DONT!!!!
sorry about the thread guys and thank you for the replies.
my answer wasnt really answered on the roaming issue but I think I will go ahead and flash a ROM again. Maybe 4.04 will address that issue.

Im pretty sure the later builds have solved that problem (roam guard off setting either missing or not 'sticking') the only time I have had the roam guard keep annoying me (after selecting dont bother me again) turned out there was other issues as well, and probly a bad flash/download. Try the newer versions. Oh and if you did indeed search, posting in the form of a question in the Q&A section usually gets less flaming... good luck.

Thge options for roaming didnt come in until fc07 i believe. Before that there wasnt even a menu option for roaming at all.
In all the current builds fc14 and higher i can confirm having the option to turn roaming on or off and to have romaing guard on voice or data
This was my first thought
Is it possible that no one has yet created such a mod for AT&T stock and rooted ROM??
I've read other threads where similar mods claim to be for "most ROMs" or are for Rogers ROMs or VZW, but they aren't for AT&T stock and so people keep losing their status bar and needing to nandroid back (I'm not one of them, nor do I wish to become one, hence creation of this thread!).
Please someone point me in the right direction if this mod exists, and if not, can someone please tell me why it doesn't already exist?? I'm certainly no dev, but it seems like this would be one of the first things to come out of development, certainly before fully baked custom JB ROMs and those things are flying around like flies over a pile of elephant poo.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Look for TriuneToggleMod in the dev thread. I installed it today on Nostalgia (basically stock with a handfull of cool things) & it works geat. If you have trouble finding it, shoot me a pm & I'll shoot you a copy.

My reply to your PM isn't showing up in my Sent folder so I'm not sure if you got it.
The toggle mod zip is: http://thefamilydev.org/sgs3/mod/TriuneToggleMod.zip

Apparently I had the foresight to subscribe to the thread. I just had to get to an actual computer to track it down
Nofitication bar gone
This is what I heard others say happened when they tried to install a toggle mod on stock rooted ROM.
Going to nandroid back now.
Thanks anyway.

I am about to deploy in a couple of days and I just updated my TMO S3 from an old Hyperdrive ROM (4.1.2 based) to the latest SlimROM (4.4.4 based). On the old ROM WiFi for Root users was working just fine, but now I can't seem to get it to work. It appears to turn on, but my tablet does not see the SSID, so I can only assume that it is not actually working. Does anyone have any idea how to make this work? I have run searches and tried to find something obvious, but I have not found anything so far that works. I am now very short on time and don't have several more days to spend looking further. Any suggestions?
Im sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I wanted to suggest posting your question in the roms thread. Not many people check the Q&A lately, and you'd have more people who are familiar with that rom seeing your question.
Good luck!

Appreciate the info...
You could also check if the same rom is available in the AT&T forums. It's a more active forum and their roms are often very nearly identical to the T999's.
