Anyone tried Flashify to flash a rom, specifically ARHD? I'm not S-OFF but was able to update TWRP with Flashify. What do you think?
A bit more info:
I'm currently S-ON, unlocked via HTCDev and rooted with Hasoon2000 toolkit. Xposed is working well but can't install busybox.
Any help is greatly appreciated

I could and probably will if nobody can advise if Flashify will work. I just like the simplicity of Flashify. I don't want to try it if the risk of a brick is quite high.

flashing a rom can not result in brick, hell you can even delete a rom and it doesnt brick . you are S-ON too.
be a man , flash it and try.
or not be one.

You are incorrect. Flashing the wrong rom can result in brick.

What are the next steps in rooting? Follow the usual using Revolutionary? Install CWM manually?
Would appreciate your help folks!

Agreed! With the bootlaoder now unlocked, what are the steps to rooting this beast? Do we still need to downgrade? Please pardon my noobness.
You wouldn't need to downgrade, I do know that. But as far as the rest, Idk. I did mine with revolutionary a while back before the 2.3.4 update, so I've been kicking ever since.

I would see if you can install superuser from the market.
EDIT: I would also see if you can install CWM and ROM manager. If all those install ok you should be able to load a custom ROM.

You do not have to downgrade if you unlocked. You should be able to install a new recovery image like Clockwork.

Installed CWM 5.0, superuser and after wiping data/cache and flashing a rom... Stuck at HTC White screen!
Flashed several roms, can't get passed it.
It's frustrating... No idea what to do next. I'm going to try flashing an earlier version of CWM and retry flashing a ROM.
Will update with progress.

When you flash a custom ROM from CWM on an unlocked HBOOT, you then need to manually extract the boot.img from the custom ROM zip file and manually flash it in Fastboot mode using the command
Fastboot flash boot [path to the boot.img file]
This has been documented multiple times in this forum.

Yes in your case you will need to relock the bootloader in order to flash the RUU/PG32IMG.zip file. You cannot flash a RUU on an unlocked bootloader.
I'm guessing you guys have something other than .98 hboot? I'll find out soon when my wifes replacement comes in but I was not intending to use the HTC unlocker if I didn't have to. I was planning to try the tool attn1 has posted in the dev section unless the hboot changed with the ota.

Good to hear kinda thought it was. I'll be using the method attn1 has posted then. I don't trust the unlock method through HTC for one main reason which is this... Unlocking bootloader and rooting voids warranty as we all know. So what happens when HTC knows your bootloader was unlocked because you used their tool and they have the serial number?

Okay I've been getting reports of roms not flashing right for the marvelc. So I set out for a solution and found one I believe. One issues with some roms, is that people have been doing it wrong since they got the phone. From Gsm recovery to even gsm roms. They used cmtd a very bad idea ect ect. So now, id like to present my method for fixing all of this. First, soff your hboot, then upgrade and unlock. install custom recovery and wipe all of the partitions. Then reboot to fastboot and flash the recovery posted bellow. Report back with any findings
http://goo.im/devs/simonsimons34/marvelc/cm9/tests/recovery.img
I was just wondering if you could give step by step instructions to flashing the recovery.img. File.
Download it. Rename to recovery.img. Place in the same directory as fastboot and adb.
Put your phone into fastboot (adb reboot bootloader).
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Simonsimons34 I have tried many things but this CWM actually let me flash a rom your great!! thanks so much and this worked for me
Glad to hear it this recovery has all the bugs with flashing and backups fixed so you should be good for the life of the phone

To flash the RUU, You must Relock the bootloader first.
I can't be much help on returning the phone to s-on, other than to tell you it would take an image (before you s-off'd) and some jtag kung-foo skills
Not something easy.

with that said, rock on with youre android device hacking...
p.s the rom i have is a stock rooted rom, of course custom kernel i added too, i can fool the uscc store upon return of the device except the phone info on lock bar ect says virgin mobile, i think its cool, but its gonna be hard to pull that one off i think lol
If you flash the RUU for your carrier it will give you a stock rom kernel and recovery so it won't say virgin mobile

I know its like TT said, a boot.img can not be flashed from inside the running OS or via an app on the phone .... It must be done in fastboot. Its impossible unless you have s-off.
Like i stated, try another rom completely different and you will see it does not work.

Using the phone dialer pad enter 3845#*850#. (Relace 850 with your variant). This allows you to enter the hidden menu. Look for LG RCT tag and display result. The content of the file will indicate whether G3 is rooted or not.

There is no difference between the two, they do the same stuff after all.

My original question was if there was a difference between using one over the other; If BUMP did something Flashify couldn't or vice versa. Not which one was the easiest to do or is "noob" friendly. Why go out of my way to use ADB on my PC when I can just download the TWRP img to my phone and flash it from the phone itself? Either way, this has been solved and I now have TWRP. Thanks for your input, anyways.
