Custom rom and knox - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I am currently on stock 4.3 mk9 rom with knox bootloader. And I am getting quite bored of stock rom. I know it's not possible to downgrade the bootloader. But is it possible to flash a custom rom while on knox bootloader?
I don't have warranty so it doesn't matter if knox is triggered. And by the way what disadvantages will i have if knox is triggered?
Thanks in advance.

I upgraded to 4.3 Stock Firmware (TouchWiz), through software update, then flashed to CM11 with no problem.
If I helped in any possible way hit the thanks button ( if I have one XD).

you can simply flash the leaked stock 4.3 version via odin, It wont void your warranty.

Do not install official 4.3 unless you wont plan to use any custom rom or downgrade to an earlier version of android!
You'll have knox active on 4.3

[Q] GT-I9195 firmware update

so, i'm reading this forum for 2 days now and i didnt get any answer.
i installed stock XXUBMJ7 (4.2.2) firmware with odin. Before i new anything about knox and stuff, I rooted, and get knox waranty void 0x1.
then i installed again XXUBMJ7 firmware with odin and didnt root again. (because i hate warnings at the boot). i still have 0x1.
now, I have two questions and i need simple answer.
1. Can I install newer stock (4.2.2) XXUBMK3 firmware with odin? will it work?
2. can i root my installed stock XXUBMJ7 firmware again and then install [CWM][ROM]GT-I9195XXUBMK3 deodexed, with no knox bootloader? will this work?

[Q] Samsung Knox

Hello I would like to ask something about knox. I haved flash the official firmware for India for Android 4.3 for the galaxy note 2, I want to experience it already that's why i flashed it even though my country has not yet have the update. I am planning to flash the stock rom for my country if it already has the update in the future so the firmware can match with my country. Are there problems that can occur doing that because Knox is there? Will it trigger the Knox void warranty? Its ok for me if it'll trigger cause my warranty for the phone is done.
If you flash (official) KNOX ROM over (official) KNOX ROM, it won't trigger KNOX bit.

From what I've read here, it happened only on update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, I believe flashing anything from 4.1.2 upwards is safe.

If your phone is running a stock 4.3 bootloader, you cannot downgrade the bootloader, only the OS.

Do i need to downgrade my bootloader to downgrade to 4.2.1? All I want to do is revert back to 4.2.1 OS.
Do you have access to the stock AT&T 4.2.1 ROM? I looked on sammobile and couldn't find it.
You may be able to downgrade to 4.2.1 using mobile Odin but you would need root access on your current ROM.
Do you have knox on your phone? If you do, knox may interfere with obtaining root. Also, tripping the Knox counter will void any warranty left on your phone.

No i do not have access to 4.2.1 ROM that why i was asking here to see what i could do. I thought with Odin you could flash stock firmware with out being rooted. No i do not have Knox on my phone.

You don not need to be rooted to flash with Odin but you need a ROM that can be flashed via Odin. Unless AT&T released full a 4.2.1 ROM, it's unlikely you will find one on the Internet.
If you try to flash a stock ROM using desktop Odin that includes an older bootloader, you will probably brick your phone.

[Q] MJ5 bootloader

I would like to ask : Does the MJ5 bootloader have knox warranty bit in recovery? I would like to flash it, but i dont want to have knox counter.

No, it doesn't, it is the last bootloader that works with 4.3 and 4.4.2 that is KNOX free.

I got another suggestion which i found out 2 days ago which doesn't need upgrading bootloader to get wifi working.Flash any 4.4.2 custom touch wiz ROM and you wont have wifi working.Flash nadia or agni touchwiz kernel and you'll have working wifi.It seems those custom kernels have wifi drivers so people who are on bootloaders older than MJ5 are using latest touchwiz ROM without upgrading their bootloader.Custom kernel alone is getting the job done. Ofcourse you can flash MJ5 bootloader anytime which is knox free and will have working wifi without the need of custom kernel.

I advise you to flash the mj5 not have to be with kernel like you can not because there are many who are not going well and can do much to restart.
