Wiped OS! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Title pretty much says it all. I accidentally wiped the OS while trying to set my phone back to factory with data wiped off the internal. I thought 'system' was unchecked!
Does anyone have a link to either Stock 4.1.2 or 4.3 without KNOX? I tried this one, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541900, but it won't flash because the OS is missing.
Would I need to do this with Odin or can I just use the recovery to flash the ROM?
Thanks guys!

What do you mean it won't flash? Does it give an error message? What recovery are you on?

Error message recieved is
"file_getprop: failed to stat '/system/build.prop': No such file or directory"
There is a statement above about the zip file
"10pm BUILD, NEEDS A ROM PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED"
Running TWRP 2.7.0.0

Did you downloaded the ROM or a mod for it? Check that.

I know a LOT of people were having trouble with TWRP 2.7 not flashing correctly and not backing up correctly. Try the 2.6.3 version

Thanks, I got it finally. I needed to find a flashable 4.1.2 to use with TWRP. I think flashed the MK3 version from the link in my original post. Thankfully Titanium had just run a backup yesterday!
Thank you again for your help! :victory:

Unable to upgrade from 4.4 to 4.4.2

I have a Tmobile LTE Deb, it has 4.4, rooted with TWRP recovery. I received 4.4.2 OTA tonight, clicked reboot and upgrade, it went to TWRP but failed to upgrade, it went so quick, I couldn't see an error, I don't know where the OTA was downloaded to. So I downloaded 4.4.2 zip for LTE upgrade from the thread here, when I tried to flash it from TWRP, I received this weird error "This package is for DEB devices, this device is a FLO". I downloaded again, reinstall, same error. My device is a deb as you can see from the attachment. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe it's the download for 4.4.2 from 4.4.1, and you still have 4.4. You can download the KRT16S to KOT49H or go from KRT16S to KOT49E then KOT49E to KOT49H. Go here

You're probably using a recovery made for flo. Download the one for deb and you should be good to go.
You're right on. Somehow the root toolkit flashed wrong TWRP. I flashed TWRP for Deb and it is good to go. Thanks a bunch!

You can't flash KitKat from EL29, try using the recovery from the KK ROM you were on or flash the Blasphemy kernel

Thanks.. i had read bout the blasphemy kernel.. issue i have is, since i flashed the directboot i can't go back to the rom's recovery. and i can't seem to move the blasphemy kernel to the phone.. Was gonna try adb, but was told it can't push through cwm, and the directboot kernel wont mount usb storage.. and i don't have a adapter here to hook the microsd to my pc. can do that tomorrow though if i have to wait no biggy
Got it sorted... had to redo my drivers to get adb working.. flashed blasphemy then mokee thanks much

Download a ROM, check the md5sum (tons of free apps to do this) and flash. Checking the md5sum against the one on the download site enjoyed there won't be errors.

But what do I use to flash it? What ROM do you recommend. I tried to flash it in recovery mode from the internal sd card. That is when it errored out.

Exactly. You got a bad download. This is the reason you check md5sum. Also, next time make a nandroid backup before flashing anything, so you don't find yourself in this situation. I would recommend my ROM Project X, but I'm biased.

Was it a status 7 error? Sounds like you need to flash from a newer recovery... Download the Blasphemy 6.6 kernel (for Android 4.3) from Original Development, then flash it from your Agat's recovery. Reboot again into recovery (you'll be on a newer CWM now) and flash away.

I would not flash this depending on your region. I believe I heard this was only for TW users. I'll need to check wth our team.

So apparently it's okay to flash, but has tweaks for TW users. But it is better to wait until the update comes (soon).

I'm not sure where this OTA update could be used with custom recovery. even for the stock recovery it seems the whole recovery flash image is required
Thanks @koshikas , I've found a fastboot update

no
just know that fastboot and recovery update methods are not the same
Thanks @koshikas, I know. That's why I'll wait some more experienced people here. I'm afraid to loose some data in the operation. If you've a good link for a ultra safe backup & easy restore I'll love it

MiFlash has options to flash with & without wiping. You can backup with the built-in tool or try Alpha Backup on play store.
Your recovery is outdated and is the reason for the failed flash. Try orangefox or dungphp's TWRP/Pitchblack.
Finally you can force a download of the full rom and not just the update from the updater app. It's in the menu at the top right. If you don't see it tap the 'currently installed' text a bunch.
Or just click here to download
