hi guys,
for the xperia s there is a lot of a discontinued kernel like doomlord one or tx-core from trynity. But what's the best kernel for battery and speed for stock based rom?
thanks in advance
That is a matter of opinion
id recomend staying on the stock rom
doomkernel is the best to use, its the safest kernel to use and has some nice features
stock rom is safe and nice to use, its fast but slightly buggy in other ways
i hope my advice/opinion helps you out
its what i use and ive got the best results aside using FXP CM10
I dont think "Best rom" threads are alowed so avoid making them in the future

it´s really a question that you can´t solve by yourself testing several roms?
i tested a lot of roms and the majority are stables and fast (always custom rom of course )) my current rom its wrote in my syg (it don´t means that the rest are worse....)simply ITS MY CURRENT ROM
I think that it hasn´t better answer.... the only thing that i can say is try several roms since @Seraphic pure android 2.3.3 to AOSP roms, themed roms.... and decide.
Yeah i went and used a few other rom's but to be fair i got the best out of Android Revolution, though i've also had RCMix rom's they are always good fun to use
I would recommend LeeDroid. It's stable, fast, and very well supported and updated by the developer. Highly customizable too
I'm using Revolution and love it. But it's really about testing out each ROM and seeing which one suits your needs. You'll be sure to find more and more ROMs you love. Then just pick the one you found the most usable and more to your style.
Obviously always make sure to check over new ROM updates to see if maybe another ROM offers something a bit more.

under my opinion, this is the best answer..
Try and play around flashing. Its also fun anyway. xD
Thank you guys. The only reason im reluctant on keep flashing roms is due to fear of bricking. I mean I spent £340 for the phone and I dont want it dead lol

hey guys any idea which is best for you?
The best stock based ROM is imo Acronium, but I like CM7 more.

nice love CM7 too
Stock+tweaks is the best! Since you can utilize all features of your phone with stock only! Hence acronium or xperia mod gets my vote. Both of them are nearly identical since they are based on stock ROM.
What's better:
xperia mod or arconium?
Just tried arconium and I'm liking it so far.

My vote is for se-tweaked

No the best ROM is SE Tweaked 0.8.5 compaed to any other stock or custom build. Team it with Doomkernel and you have a superb lag free fast phone.. For me CM always appeared dull compared to the stock ROMs. And typical to any CM ROM it had missing features and poor battery.

which one of these ROMs holds longer battery life ?

With cm you also cant use the keyboard in landscape properly without hammering the space bar key which is pretty retarded imo. Also the camera sucks. Im on stock with doom kernel personally. I had a look at arconium but couldn't really see any benefit over stock rom same with xperia mod. Might give se tweaked a go though.
what about stock .62 ? anyone used it ?
Which are the best ROM for battery??? Arconium, xperiamod or se tweaked??? Only expert please and one reason thanks

I have used Arconium with doomlord kernel for few weeks now. Very good battery usage in my average use (2 days usualy). I tested few roms and always went back to stock, before I found Arconium.
SoftWhite MIUI! I love it!
i Use FXP104 an i love it, the only think i dont like is that the batterie lasts not very long
my vote for Arconium with DooMKernel
..fast, no lags, and battery drain is excellent
I'm happy with stock 042 but I'm thinking to give a try to Arconium....
Do it
I regret that I waited till I tried it, it's AWESOME!

sad to say no devs except for terma was able to create a custom kernel,,,atleast...
well there might be others...but then again i havent found a good everyday performance rom...
oc,underclocked,governors,sio....
hays...
even cm..not yet here...
Hybrid is stable. No a2sd support = stable ROM
You can try Link2sd because a2sd consumes more battery juice.

Hello everybody. I am getting the Xperia Play tomorrow or Saturday. I plan on flashing a custom ROM and kernel right away. On my current phone, I am using JB and really love it. Are their any good JB ROM and kernel combinations for the Xperia play. If there aren't, what are some other good ROM and kernel combinations. I am looking for something fast, smooth, clean and with good battery life. Oh, and I also plan on overclocking. Any tips on that? Thanks!
If i was you i'd install Nxt 1.3 gb by kris dee, with Lupus v4 kernal, best rom by miles even though its based on gingerbread,
Also i'v flashed baseband 36 which is the best baseband for battery performance, My battery lasts alot longer than normal

There are two really good roms:
XperiaNXT (Android2.3.7)
Unofficial Test Release ICS (Android4.0.4)
And two Kernels:
LuPuS
DooMKernel
I Using the Unofficial Test release with LuPuS-ICS-Beta-Kernel V8, overlocked to1.8 GHz and I'm very happy with this combination.
Great performance and great Design...
And in the next days come update v2 with more improvements...
Use this combination, you would be faszinated

Thanks for the tips. I think I will try ICS unofficial test rom with Lupus kernel.

Hello,
I m a owner of Xperia Arc :good:, trying out various combinations of Custom ROMs and kernels. Presently with XPERIA ULTIMATE HD and ADVANCED STOCK KERNEL.
Satisfied with the performance....
But wanna have a opinion of others reg. this....
So, please reply to this thread with the BEST COMBINATION(S) of CUSTOM ROM and kernels with d main consideration being:
--> PERFORMANCE
--> BATTERY LIFE
--> ANDROID VER. 4.0 +
--> other imp. features such as hotspot, wifi modules etc.
AWAITING YOUR SUGGESTIONS
Bye

There is no such thing as the best ROM/kernel. Period.
