Samsung Milk (like Pandora but better) - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Here is the modded build of Milk that will run on any device:

I would say the mod version of Pandora is better
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I like this one better. Doesn't slacker radio have more music also?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

I installed this on my phone and I feel like the sound output via earbuds is distorted. I listened to one song via Milk and the same exact song via Google Music and the one on Milk sounded distorted and not good. The Bass was entirely too blown out. I don't know if it is a conflict with Boomsound or what, but via stock music player and via Google Music everything sounds awesome.

Great to hear. I have noticed this problem as well actually. I get this with certain tracks on both this and Pandora. I'll confess to being a bit of an audiophile (yes, also a bitrate snob), and every once in a while I will just have to banish a song from playing on a station.

Not likely. I believe that it is more hardware related for htc beats phones. However, if you want your phone to sound like beats might as well set up the bass on the equalizer way up.

Yeap. Just as I suspected.

Its more of an souped-up equalizer. DSP manager should work equally well. Just a quick question. Are you using the default ear phones? Or really nice expensive ones.
One last thing, to answer your question. This would not be possible as the HTC music app requires sense dependent frameworks. Bottom line, we need a htc sense port first.

Sound distortion

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has this issue, I'm running CM10 and the music quality isn't too bad while running the headphone jack to speakers, ie my car, home. But when I plug my headphones and and try to play with DSP at all it always sounds distorted and sound like the headphones are blown, this only happens after I enable something with DSP, the headphones are fine. I also tested on my zune and my roommates Droid X2, both of which sound much better than my phone.
Any suggestions or solutions would be great, the headphones are sennheiser HD558's

DSP distorts the sound, no way around it. Try poweramp music player, it uses it's own equalizers and settings and has great sound.

Thanks I've always been hesitant to use poweramp, but I've heard so many people praise it, I'll try it out, I just don't want to leave Apollo lol

At first I only used it because Apollo wouldn't play certain file types that I had, loved it ever since.
I've been using power amp for two years and love it

OK I've been testing it and its great in the EQ setting the limiter is what makes the difference, it stopped music from peaking. Thanks guys

Google music. It now has an equalizer option

Poweramp always
Try GoneMAD Music Player :good:
Power amp for serious listeners and I really recommend ttpod for music

The Google music app! Its new jb notification player is pretty cool. The ui is simple and efficient. The only complaint I have is that awful blue background. I wish I knew how to modify the app to not have that ugly blue.

I used power amp on my Desire, and on my Gtab.I agree, for Rock, Metal, and frankly classical it is much better.
Beats works great for pop, dance, rap etc (anything with bass), and really it isn't bad for rock and metal (poweramp is better). Because I am stock, I just use the stock player, I like the integration with car mode, tune in etc (I have the pro version, yes paid for).
So, if you ditch sense.....buy poweramp, if your stock, really the HTC player is pretty good.
All IMHO, I have tried others but I prefer HTC's player over google music or apollo

Most players are the same.
Me im using the Sony Xperia walkma player, that came after the xperia NXT series!
I just like how it looks!

You'll see the option buried in sounds. Of course I'm sure you already know you can't disable it. Only when headphones are plugged in you can.

Out of curiosity, if one were to enable the equalizer in Google Play Music app, does it conflict with BoomSound? Every time I enable the former, the sound changes pretty dramatically, even when I leave the EQ set to FLAT.

I never used the EQ in Google play music. I don't believe in it Viper, Boomsound and hk are the best.

But don't you think that the Boomsound over-emphasizes treble...like much more than a tad?

There has to be a missing setting

I put my 10 side by side with my LG V10 and played multiple songs and video clips and the htc is consistently inferior on quality and volume. Like not even close. Have tried theater and music mode.
Am i missing something? Stock setup. Was so looking forward to an M8 like sound experience but so far am not impressed.
Dud unit?
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Dud don't think so. I also believe that the speakers on this phone is inferior to the Moto x pure. It sounds good but not loud enough.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Loudness and clarity are two totally different things. Is it not clear or loud enough because coming from an M8 my 10 sounds clearer/cleaner.
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
It's not near as loud but also doesn't sound nearly as crisp. Almost tinny on my htc.

Do you have it in theater or music mode? The former for videos and the latter for songs.
