Don't see all the hate about the camera. It's a huge upgrade from my nexus 4 lol but I suppose if you've been using the latest smartphones you might see a difference. It's very quick too. I pressed the button to take one pic but ended up taking 3 that's how fast the shutter is. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow

OK talk to me, since you came from the note line. I have the m7 with a busted screen and right now I've got a note 3. I love htc hands down but the large screen on the note has me hooked! I don't care about the camera on either device. Was it a hard transition as far as screen size?

i had a note 3 too and nope i transitioned really fast. this phone feels better in hand. no joke the size is perfect i dont struggle to type or swipe texts one handed. i never hit the on screen buttons when doing anything in the phone. (on the note i would always press the spacebar when trying to hit the home button. drove me nuts.)

If anyone is asking if the iPhone fits anywhere into this conversation, here it is:
this is nothing. I have seen on the news, iPhone have survived drops from airplane during parachute jump. Also the iPhone helped saved people in every big natural disaster since its inception.
Nobody even mentioned the iPhone in this thread. Nobody cares. You see it on the news cause apple whores itself out to the media.

Well well Zucker, eat your words !
Who's actually interested in this? I'm pretty concerned about the amount of data FB would mine and sell.

Its complete garbage.
Must be paying HTC a truck load to try and get this off the ground. Biggest gimmick ever second only to the ouya $8 million kick starter, backed by a boat load of people that are willing to buy the same ad riddled or micro transaction games again that they probably already have on their android or iphone.
These are budget devices catering for the easily exploitable.
Wide birth recommended.

As if fb need more information. I seriously hope this doesn't evolve to them takin regular active interest in smartphone market but it clearly will.
Other than the obvious reasons to never let this near your device would it not also rape your battery as presumably it needs a form of data to run?

It actually a smart move for facebook. Don't invest money into hardware, invest in software that many people will install as soon as they get a pop-up from the facebook app. But who does use facebook anyhow? :cyclops:

I was reading that the screen is going to be 5.99 inches thats still a good size if they go any bigger it would be consider a tablet so they wanna stay under 6 inches then it would still be in the category as a phablet.

I'm just hoping they get rid of the real plastic feel off the phone and go with a metal case
5.5 inches is just about right. If they go any bigger, then i'm throwing some moolah LG G2's way just to see what that's about. Heard rumors of 5.7 inches and 5.99 inches which is just pushing it for me. A friend of mine in the U.K got the Galaxy Mega 6.3 inch and jeebus, that thing is huge and just weird. Also saw a video comparison of the Sony Xperia ZL 6.4 inches vs the Note 2 and lawd, that thing was massive.
No, 5.5 inches is enough for me.

Are you saying it's on when not in a call? If you're running a custom ROM, you might want to pay the issue in that thread.
Keep in mind that it's going to be brighter in a picture taken with a digital camera because the CCD is sensitive to infrared light. Just look at the front end of any TV remote through your phone's camera while pressing a button on the remote.

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
A proximity sensor IS an IR blaster just being used for a different purpose. You should not be able to see it with the naked eye, but video cameras can catch it due to shutter speed sync and such.
My thoughts are if it works on calls like its supposed to and you dont have a Major battery drain and everything else about your phone is perfect then leave it be. You (should) have 1 year to replace it under warranty if it fails. Otherwise if it is causing an issue get it replaced for sure.
