Touchscreen actioned by the keyboard - Windows 8 Development and Hacking

Hello, I am using a windows 8, touchscreen enabled, Asus ux31a ultrabook. When I connect it to my projector or TV and close the lid, the touch screen is actioned by the keyboard upon touch and the movies pause sometimes or some apps are opened as a result. I can use the device manager and disable the touchscreen but it's a little inconvenient. Is there a way, maybe a script or something that can disable the touchscreen when I close the lid and enable it again when I open it? Thanks

The touchscreen is a capacitive touch panel, the keyboard is not conductive and cannot trigger the screen, nor should it even be touching the screen.
Something to try, open the screen but orientate the entire laptop so the screen points downwards, does the same happen again? It may actually be a damaged screen, if the touch layers shift a little then they can register ghost input.

Thank for your reply. I have tried it and it still happens. It is clearly the keyboard interfering because if I open the virtual keyboard nd close the lid I can se on my TV the keys being pressed. Otherwise the touchscreen works flawlessly I have no problems with it or multi touch.

Any new ideas?

weird problem with touch screen

Just want to know if people have experienced weird problems with their touch screen on their Gnexus, i've had this phone for less than 1 week, and the problem arised twice.
the screen just dont reach to your finger touch, normally you swipe left or right in the home screen, and the pages just moves to the next screen centered, but the screen just stops when ever you let go, and on home screen when you push and hold an icon or widget the bin pops up at top to discard the item, on my phone, just a slight touch and no need to touch and hold will do the same thing. it's just like the screen has gone malfunction randomly with the screen registering a touch. I also think this happed when it is connected to a non samsung charger, but not too sure if i had the charger connected.
to rectify the problem, you need to power down the phone and on.
not too sure if this is a bug, or problem with the display, it's very hard to discribe it, but it's not normal.
thanks

[Q] [Pro] How to make it easier to wake when keyboard left open?

Is there any app or mod or rom that will give the following behaviour on an Xperia Pro?:
With the physical keyboard slid open, and after the phone has been left idle for sufficient length of time for the screen backlight to turn off, I would like to be able to wake the phone by pressing any key or by tapping the screen, bypassing the screenlock.
My previous non-Android keyboard slider phone has that behaviour, and I found it very useful when leaving the phone on the arm of a chair with the keyboard slid open so I could just pick it up and use it. As I wouldn't put the phone in my pocket with the keyboard slid open, I'm not worried about accidentally activating things.

Registers everything as a long touch

Hi!
Something is wrong with the touch on my Xperia S. When I plug in the charger or headphones the phone starts to register every tap as a long touch, but only on the lowest centimeter of the screen plus the back, home and meny buttons.
An example is if I tap the Homebutton the list of previous apps opens up, and if I press an icon in the dock it just wants to move it, just like if you long press on it. This makes the phone pretty much useless as I cant use the lower part of the screen.
Like I said this only happens when I have the charger or headphones connected, otherwise it works just fine.
Anyone knows if there is a solution for this, or should I just return the phone?
"EDIT: It seems like the problem goes away after the charger has been connected for a while"
Just clean your screen and if any screen protector exists replace it. If the problem still exists do a software repair

[Q] [REQ] Completely disable capacitive buttons

Okay, so I've successfully managed to disable my capacitive buttons on my Note 2, using this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34247225) tutorial right here. No problems there, but it seems that they are not completely disabled.
After I disabled the capacitive buttons, I have noticed that the area where the capacitive buttons are still function! Let me explain. The capacitive buttons does not do anything, but seems to have a functional capacitivity (correct word?). Example: When I'm watching a video on the youtube app and I touch the disabled capacitive buttons, they seem to wake up the phone as if I was tapping on the screen. Also in certain apps, they seem to actually function as if I was touching somewhere on the screen. In the game "Nemo's Reef" (don't ask), when I'm touching the disabled capacitive buttons it takes me to the menu in the game and does several other things like clicking in the menu, going back, moving the screen etc.
It's not a big problem, but it is annoying and do show that the capacitive buttons are not completely disabled - as promised in the tutorial. The capacitive buttons are disabled, but the capacitive area is still functional, and (in some apps) seem to act as if I were tapping certain areas on the screen.
My question: Is there a way to completely disable the capacitive area where the capacitive buttons are?
I hope this was interesting, and it would be a pleasure if somebody could look into this and/or give me an answer.

left and right edges of screen don't register touch anymore

It started with it being hard to press 1,q etc keys on keyboard. When I enter developer settings and enable pointer location ,I realise it doesn't register at least hundred pixels on entire left and right sides of screen. Quite annoying. My gf phone is slowly going that way also.. any ideas apart from replace screen or phone? Also around entire edges of phone it looks like screen is delaminating,i.e. a lines and checkers pattern shows....
I have the same problem. It started with a crack, when the phone was bent too much (see picture).
But the unresponsive left edge started later, after I had fixed the phone in a car cradle. Probably the cradle held the phone too hard.
I noticed it because I was using gesture navigation and I couldn't use the back gesture when swiping from the left side. The right side still works in general, but in some apps I have a problem on the top right edge with the 3 button menu button.
You can check your touchscreen in the hardware test menu (*#*#6484#*#*) with test 8 Touchpanel edge.
Also test 7 ITO fails for my device.
Sorry, I have no advice for your problem.
My personal solution for this problem is: I will dump this device, which had hardware problems right from the start (like bluetooth disturbing WLAN) and lots of software bugs, which Xiaomi is not willing to fix. Instead a Pixel 4a will be my daily driver in a few weeks.
My problems also started after bending the entire phone.. was looking at replacement lcd and frames but in reviews they seem to not have proximity sensor..maybe just get a new phone and have this as backup..
