Keyboard Shortcuts? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to set up a keyboard shortcut for my email to be entered when I type "@@". I've added a personal dictionary entry with that shortcut but whenever I type the shortcut nothing appears and it doesn't turn into my email address. Has anyone got this working?

Phantom Email Account

My boss has a Verizon branded Touch Pro 2 that has a problem I've never encountered. I set up her email account for her (we host our own email, she is connected through IMAP) when she first got the phone. She now has another email account showing on the TF3D Mail tab that is not the account I set up. The account I set up is still there, but there is an additional account there that I cannot remove. It's like she started setup of a new account and then cancelled out of the setup. There is no way I can see to delete this other account. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Go into the WM messaging client. Mail Tab > Inbox. In the dropdown at the top-left of the screen, can you see the account? Or, try swiping left or right in the WM messaging client until you are in the "phantom" account. Maybe try Messaging client > Menu > Tools > Options > look for the phantom account and press/hold to delete.
Unplug from USB and turn on Airplane mode. If the account is trying to send/receive, then the delete options don't work. If you can't find the delete button, press and hold down on the account and the popup might have a delete.

Can someone answer these for me?

Its been a week since i first got my desire and i am absolutely loving it but i have a few questions about it:
1. How do you turn off the vibrating feedback when dialing a number in the keypad?
2. In the Gmail app, how do i set it to auto check for email when i open it, currently when i open the app i have to manually press refresh to get it to check my inbox.
3. Another concerning the Gmail app how do i get it to check my inbox every hour?
I have the manual but not the phone (yet) I think I can help you with #1 and #3
1) Page 67 in the manual: "On the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings > Language & keyboard > Touch Input.
Other settings.
Vibrate when typing.
Select to enable vibration feedback whenever you tap a key on the keyboard."
3) page 73 in the manual: "Changing account settings
You can change settings such as the sync frequency and the types of information
synchronized, the kinds of notification you receive, and the way that account information is
displayed.
Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Accounts & sync.
Tap the account that you want to edit.
Edit the account settings."
I don't know about #2 but I hope this can help you with your other questions.
thanks for this.
will have a solid read when i get back from work later.
does anyone know the answer to no 2? its kind of annoying that the Gmail client doesnt check for new email when you open it?
the Gmail app is set up for push by default when you sign into your google account during set up.
it is a push mail client, and emails should come in as soon as they are received (or within a couple of minutes) as long as you have an active internet connection.

eMail button missing

Hi,
I am having a problem with setting up email on my UK T-mobile TP2. Since i got the handset last year I have to set up my email accounts (gmail) in 2 stages. Firstly, I use the email tab on the homescreen to add a new account. If i leave it at this stage I get an error about not being able to connect.
I stumbled across a solution, and that means I need to press the physical windows button on the front of my handset (brining up the grid of icons) then selecting the "email" icon. then I set up the email (again) from here. This then clears the problem for me.
However, I no longer have the email icon when I press the windows button and I cannot find it anywhere in windows?!?
Does anyone know where this icon points to in windows, as I cannot send/receive any email until i find it and set it up.
Please, anyone!?!?

my email shortcut reads:
:MSINBOX -pickeroption
It is an internal command, that is why you can't find the executable file. Create a shortcut using the above info.

Make SMS inbox default in MS Messaging

Hi, I configured my phone with CHT to open up the MS messaging when I tap the SMS icon on the CHT notification bar. If I have the option "show account picker", it will open up to show my SMS and email account. If I don't use that option, it will open to the inbox of whatever account I last had open. Is there a reg edit so that MS messaging will open up to my SMS inbox when it opens?
I use the manila email tab for emails, so that is not an issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.

[Q] Can't change sender name in Email app

It's very annoying when the email app in the T-Mobile SGSIII puts your name on any email as the email address itself.
I tried to change the name from settings but I can only change signature, anyone knows how to change that?
Thank you

any thoughts ?
I noticed that when using an Exchange Account or Hotmail Account the Your Name Field quickly disappears, and is overlapped by the signature field. On imap or pop accounts the Your name field stays.
Does anyone know any other way to change it on a Hotmail account?

I found a workaround to change the "Your Name" setting in the stock Email app. I posted the details at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31342076.
There is a solution to this here
Thanks bjabram!! this really works... I tried other options with no success.. for other users with this problem: it's extremelly difficult to tap the "your name" field before it disappears, but it can be done.. when you go to settings and press the account name, if you press it twice you may be lucky and the "your name" field is pressed as well
