[Q]New LCD or LCD & Digitizer?

Great first post coming up. Had my Desire Z a couple of weeks. Read lots on here, got it rooted and Virtuous installed. Happy with the phone.
Out this evening, phone in back pocket, wouldn't want to scratch the case or screen with car keys in front pocket. Sat down on a chair. Retrieve phone to see a crack on the LCD. Doh.
The LCD is now black with a small crack. No picture at all although the backlight does seem to work. No visible damage to digitizer and am able to answer calls by sliding up or down in about the right place. As such can I assume I just need to replace the LCD?
Anyone recommend a repair centre in the UK and / or source for an original HTC screen? Plenty on the bay but you can never be sure.
Also would assume HTC will laugh if I try and warranty it.

[Q] Xperia S Full housing Replacement. ( Need Help)

Hi Everyone,
I am about to do a full housing replacement for my Xperia s, I haven't started as I have looked at a disassembly of the phone but have noticed that the side panel of the phone wasn't taken off. I need to replace this as my casing that covers the lock button has broken and fallen off. The only thing holding it in place is some tape I have used so that I can still unlock and use my phone.
Does anyone have any idea as to how I remove the side casing of the phone so that I can replace it. I know it's going to be a tough job but I will get it done.
My main focus was the side panel and upper panel that covers the lock screen as I know how to disassemble the rest.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Help with NFC antenna pad located on rear cover assy Xperia Acro S

Recently I bought from ebay an new original housing for my Sony Xperia Acro S, because the plastic protection that covers the battery was broken and for this reason my phone has lost the waterproof protection. I have downloaded the service manual for this phone to change the new housing by myself because there are no Sony Xperia specialized technicians in Ecuador, I am really dissapointed because of this. In the service manual it doesn´t specify how can I change the NFC antenna pad from the original rear cover assy to the new one. It apparently seems to be sticked, but I am not sure of it, could someone please help me explaining me how can I unstick it to put it on my new housing? I am worried about breaking this part and not to have NFC function on my Xperia anymore. In the next picture I show you in the yellow part the NFC antenna that I need to change. I will really be thankful if someone gives me a good answer

i havnt taken anything electrical apart for a while but (try about 10 years (exclude 12 year old computer last week)
check if its attached or stuck to anything else? then that something else just try to cairfuly pry it off of the housing,
(im unsure if the one you bought is suppose to come with one but if its Glued on the original(From factory) then the housing you bought should have it too :/)
I suggest you Dont try this first,
Search things up in google first! DO NOT TRY THIS because i did say i was unsure

Change housing XS

Hello,
I want to change the housing of my Sony Xperia S.
I mean the backcover, all buttons, the usb and HDMI cap, the frame.
I searched and found out that the frame is a unity with the display.
I was going to buy this set but i am not sure how to change the frame and remove the display.
I watched some how to in youtube but they did not change the frame.
Did some one change the housing of Xperia S and can tell me how to do it?
I have no warranty and i do not want to buy new display just for the new frame.

Nobody?
Try parts4repair.com. if I remember correctly they did have the frame on its own.
Here you are: http://www.parts4repair.com/sony-xperia-s-front-faceplate/
You will need a heat gun to take the existing display off, and you gotta be really careful. Hence it might just be easier to buy the whole thing especially if you haven't got any experience in handling phone disassemblies

Questions about Xperia Z1 compact that i have newly bought it?

I really love my newly bought Xperia Z1 compact , it is so amazing! But , i have got a few questions to ask and hope you guys can help me withIs the
Is Xperia z1 compact flaps tight?
Do i need a casing for it?
Can it endure a simple low height drop? As it will it not get cracks or bending of the phone?
Is the safe to drop into the water?
How long can the flaps on the phone last?
Is it safe to use it without casing and screen protection on the back?
Do you people think i should get a case ? For me i don't think i need as case pose a issue to it. I alwayd drop it into water , and if i have a casing on , i will need to take it out and dry it.
I know some questions are common sense , but i hope you guys can answer for me , what are you guys advices?
I knocked my phone of my bedside table while charging last night, didnt realise till i got to work that the flap had fell off. Luckily was on the floor when i got home and fitted back securely again.
Id recommend a protector for the back, mine has a lot of little scratch marks already, and i have a gel casing for work
