Hello,
I want to change the housing of my Sony Xperia S.
I mean the backcover, all buttons, the usb and HDMI cap, the frame.
I searched and found out that the frame is a unity with the display.
I was going to buy this set but i am not sure how to change the frame and remove the display.
I watched some how to in youtube but they did not change the frame.
Did some one change the housing of Xperia S and can tell me how to do it?
I have no warranty and i do not want to buy new display just for the new frame.

Nobody?
Try parts4repair.com. if I remember correctly they did have the frame on its own.
Here you are: http://www.parts4repair.com/sony-xperia-s-front-faceplate/
You will need a heat gun to take the existing display off, and you gotta be really careful. Hence it might just be easier to buy the whole thing especially if you haven't got any experience in handling phone disassemblies

There are a lot of videos on youtube showing the correct method replacing the Housing. It does require a little effort though. but very simple tools needed and if you a buy a good product then the lcd can easily fit correctly into the housing.
Ous galaxy SII phones have the Bezel and the LCD unit stuck together, so you need to Blow Dry the Bezel with a hair drier and slowly remove it. and then putting them back together is pretty easy. Hope this helped

Is it possible to keep the old display(lcd + screen) while changing the bezel?
I don't want to pay money to buy a new one as my display is fine.

Yes there is a solution to that. You need a Guitar Picker or similar kind of a tool to get the LCD out.. but first of all, remember to use a HAIR DRIER to Blow all over the BEZEL, so that, the adhesive gets a little moist and loose. then, slowly, using the Guitar picker/plastic tool, u need to start from one curved end and go around the entire screen , lifting the LCD. Make sure u do this carefully, if not, then you have a high chance of breaking the LCD. You can consult to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiWFf_zy0hI by DuraPower Global. please be careful
and yeah, You will be Void of your phone's warranty

You will need to thoroughly heat the top and bottom of the front, and the screen on the back as well. AMOLED panels are extremely fragile - even a single hairline crack on the very edge of the screen (maybe where you pry the screen) will destroy the panel.
Ebay start selling red and black back cover plate and just wonder if anyone know how to?

Well, let me try... If you changed the battery, you already know how to replace the backplate, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you want to replace the midframe/housing, that's quite a bit more work, but still doable, if you are comfortable working with heat gun or hair dryer. I would strongly recommend watching some YouTube videos on the subject (phone model doesn't matter; you just need to understand how to work with a heat gun and a suction cup). Also, finding a good disassembly guide for ZL would be useful, to make sure you follow the teardown steps properly.
Note that I personally haven't done a full ZL disassembly, but I know how it's put together, and I have done similar repairs on multiple other phones, including Xperia Z, Z1, LG G2, Galaxy S2 and others. Basically, you need to remove the backplate, then disconnect everything and remove all components accessible from the back, making sure not to damage ribbon cables in the process (some of them are very delicate). This is where a good disassembly guide comes in very handy. After that, you are left with the most difficult task: removing the display/digitizer assembly without damaging it. You need to carefully (that's the keyword here!) heat it up around the perimeter to loosen up the adhesive, and carefully pull it from the housing with a suction cup, working your way around the edge with a plastic spudger, or a guitar pick, or a similar tool. At this stage, you can quite easily break the glass, or split the LCD/digitizer "sandwich", so, again, be careful!
If you have no experience whatsoever doing this, your screen's chances of survival are quite slim. I am pretty handy with electronics and with stuff in general, and literally spent years with soldering iron in my hands. Still, my first two attempts were fudged up (the screen was already damaged in both cases, so no harm done, but lessons learned). First time, I fried the display with a heat gun. Second time, cracked the glass trying to separate it from the housing. That was enough for me to learn the tricks. So, be prepared to replace the screen, if you break it. But hey, you may very well get lucky, and do it right the first time around...
Assuming you are through the disassembly process, you will then need to put the phone back together in your new housing, using two adhesive gaskets: one for the display, and another for the backplate. I would recommend buying the proper pre-cut adhesive for your phone (check out Amazon or eBay), but you can also use a narrow high-quality double-sided tape (3M or similar), manually cut in place.
Good luck!
Tried googling up but it seemed that there are no guide for changing the housing for xperia zl.
But oh well, maybe I need to buy the lcd screen just in case I failed. But thanks! That'll boost my spirit up to do it
Hi everyone,
My SGSII has gone through a lot and I would like to see if I can "refresh it"
I've seen on the web people that sells spare parts for the phone, however I'm not sure what to get because I do believe the phone has like 3 frames.
The screen is perfect, maybe a really small barely noticeable scratch, the middle frame (metallic?) is the one that is really damaged taking drop hits, battery cover might be replaced.
Do I have to get the screen or digitalizer as well? I have seen some procedures and they basically rip apart the digitalizer damaging it for good.
Thank you for your time and help.
Seems you can't change the digitizer without the screen with this AMOLED display type, which is very expensive. Not worth it on an old phone. Slap a bumper case on it!
Hello there, I've done some tinkering me and my dad and decided to change the display of my note 2 by ourselves, we where trying to change only the glass(the one that you touch, is white or grey, etc) and we couldn't separate the glass from the first layer of glass the one that has a ribbon cable hooked up to it, well we tried again and we cracked the second layer of glass and then we got two scratches on the third layer of glass (I'm not a professional guy that's why i'm describing it like this). Well either way the screen won't turn on now, the led is turning on, it vibrates it just won't turn on, talking about the screen. Now here come the questions, Will I be able to fix the screen to turn on? and I saw a demo unit of the phone for sell on the internet would it be worth it to buy it and switch the internals(motherboard, usb module, antennas) to that phone just for the screen?
I'd rather go the demo unit way - if it's possible - because that would cost me 100 euros instead of 170 euros.
Thank you very much for looking at this.
I think you cracked the display ...sorry. Why you coouldn't separate the digitizer from display? You just need a few pieces of plastic, playing cards or similar things and a heat gun. Probably you did not had enough patience to heat it.

To move the entire screen to another phone, it takes a bit of skill, search YouTube and decide if you can do it.
I think you will find answers here:

Good Luck
I was saying that I'm going to take that thing on which you screw the motherboard and antennas. From my understandingnthe whole LCD assembly. Would that work? At this current stage I'm trying to power on my phone to save data which is possible and the next step i don't really know what to do.....
The screen of the my lg g3 Broke
I want to buy original screen of lg... And I want to fix alone, Accompanied by guidance in Web, YouTube or something.
So... has in ebay or aliexpres original Screen for sale?
And what i should order? Just a screen or "touch" also ?
How does it work?
thank you :good:
Its not hard to do. I bought Lcd and front bezel together with screwdrivers and guitar pick for 55eur on eBay
It's obvious a screen that failed lg quality testing as it's a bit imprecise
Grand mostly tho
But do take care with speakers etc
And you'll need a hairdryer
If u have some experience of soldering and know how of internals then go for it otherwise give it some certified technician ... U can damage internals on ur own
Just buy the complete screen assembly from somewhere like etradesupply and swap that out.
Will save you the most headache in the end trust me...
Search my G2 screen replacement thread if you have some time...think you may like it
