[Q] Sim unlock - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Originally my device is from Vodofone (M8). Is there a way I can unlock this phone easily after rooting??? I have the unlock code already from Voda. I know it's easy to unlock it, simply just get another sim from different courier and insert it....and just put the unlock code when required. The only problem...most of my friends are on Voda....and even I have friends who are from different network, they dont use nano simcard. And I dont want to trouble too much of my friends. So if there is a simple way I can do it myself.....that would be great....

Help Unlocking h6315

hi.i am almost 6 months old with the ipaq h6315 of t-mobile, and tried, unlocking tools , unofficial room, etc. I am tired of looking for some tool to unlock. I need a solution without paying.
Regards[/img]
Not gonna happen unless you can convince t-moble USA to give you the unlatching code for free.
The handset is 2 years old now! No - one is going to develop a 'free' unlocker for a 2 yr old, low selling, single market handset. Check ebay, you can get the codes for as little as $25 from sellers in the US based on your IMEI. Other people's codes will not work.

I just sold mine unlocked on ebay recently. The above user is correct. Since I had a contract with T-mobile, I called them and said I was giving the phone away to someone with Cingular service. The tech support rep took my imei number and emailed the instructions and code within 24 hours.
Who is your carrier now/Who did you get the phone from. Ask them if they still have a T-mobile contract to get the code for you. T-mobile gave me mine although I bought mine from someone else.
IIRC you also need an old t-mobile US sim to turn the radio stage on to enable you to enter the code otherwise it won't accept it?

Nope, don't think you can....

You can unlock it without T-mobile sim card but you need a sim card from any provider ( must be active ) . better is use the sim you wanna use with this fone after unlocked
If you wanna have unlock code, why don't search and Buy it on ebay? i see that only about 30$ each unlock code and you'll get code within 24 hours

ebay have feedback system so you can sure code will works or you can give seller negative feedbacks and request refund
If you already have unlock code ans sim card but when you input code, it always said that " unlock code not accepted, you have tried...." You must update your ROM version . It's worked well . I'm already tested with 8 customer who have problem like this
I see your problem serveral times. This is cause of your phone's rom missing ( about 5% hp 6315 got this problem)
This problem can easy solve with this ROM update ( ROM v1.00.38 )
This rom update will remove all T-mobile logos and sofware and your 6315 will become OEM 6315
dowload here : http://rebootitsmagic.com/ipaq/SP29760_6315.zip
1. Unzip/Extract it using your unzip program (i.e. WinRAR, WinZip, 7zip, etc...)
2. Place the h6315 in cradle. connect it to USB and charger
3. Double click on the hpRUU.exe to run the program
4. View the Readme and if you wish to proceed Agree to the Terms and Conditions
5. Click Next
6. Click Next again to flash the device with the new ROM
7. Sit back relax and grab yourself something to drink while it handles its business
If you got laptop, should ,best is do it in laptop ( prevent electric out )
After rom update finish, just input the code like before

I use a non-active old t-mobile US sim to enable the radio. Any non t-mobile sim comes up as 'unkown sim status' like in the first post ,and will not allow you to activate radio to input the code.

will this work for h6325? I have the same problem. I lost charge and the PDA hard resets. Any hope?

Unlock Tilt2 SIM after having flashed ROM?

Is it possible to use the ATT&T unlock code and procedure on a Tilt2 that has already been flashed with Energy ROM?
If you already flashed a cooked ROM (Like Energy´s) it means your Rhodium is already unlocked
So no need to do it again, now you can flash any ROM (stock or cooked) you want!
Don´t forget to vote!
yes, the ROM is unlocked. But I am asking about the SIM. When the SIM is unlocked then you can use the phone on any carrier, not just AT&T.
Sorry, misunderstood
I would assume so, just get the code and put in a foreign SIM card and it should ask you for the unlock code which you then enter.
I can't imagine changing the software will change the code which is always the same and based on the IMEI.
Which is why with the older phones, it was easy to crack the algorithm, now a days they have made it harder but I guess it is still possible. Mostly these days the cracks come from sniffing the code out using software on the device (you couldn't flash old Nokia's, so you had to break the algorithm) or buy injecting a hack (like the iPhone's unlock) that hides the real unlock hardware/radio/software and just always responds unlocked.
Thankx for the clear answer. I received the unlock code from AT&T and when I am in the foreign country and put the foreign SIM in, then I'll keep my fingers crossed that the phone will ask me to input the code.

You can unlock it now. Just get a T-mobile SIM and put it in your AT&T Tilt2. It'll boot up and ask for your unlock code.

Does HardSPL and flashing a new rom unlock the phone?

Forgive me, I couldnt find the answer to this question.
If it doesnt, what is the best way to do it!
Thanks!

Yes, sorry
There are various sites that will give you the unlock code which is based on your IMEI number, but you shoudl be able to contact the carrier that branded the device and ask them for the unlock code. Then just put the SIM card you want to use in the phone and turn it on, you will get a Network is locked message with a box for you to enter the unlock code you got from the branded carrier.

I havent been able to get an unlock code since the 90's - I use Tmobile and they wouldnt even consider doing it.
If you are unable to obtain the unlock code from T-Mobile then you may want to check this thread:

[Q] Enter SIM unlock code without a different carrir sim?

So i just received the unlock code from at&t and id like to unlock the phone. but i dont have a non att sim. reason being, im going to try and get rid of the device and would like it unlocked prior. that way everything is done and they can just stick in there sim and go.
ive tried the few codes att gave me and no go.
all else fails i will just print out the text where at&t texted me the code. just would like it done before.
thanks in advance!!
You need a SIM from a different carrier to use that method. Also, check out this thread:

[Q] Is the cell unlock code dependent on RUU/firmware?

I decided to upgrade to M9. I currently have a T-mobile M8, that I decided to give away to a friend, he does not use T-mobile or live in the US.
So the question is, if I flash a HTC unlocked edition RUU, will the Sim unlock code provided by T-mobile still work?
Just dropping by....

From what I know, no, it might not work because the phone might not even ask for the code.
In order to unlock the phone you have to insert a NON accepted sim and get it to prompt for the "SIM network unlock PIN".
If this is the situation, you can try flashing and see if it prompts for the code with your friends sim card.
IF, however, it does ask for the code, just try it first. If it doesn't work you have to flash back to stock Tmobile firmware, Unlock it, then it will work with you friend.
I recommend a few sites like cellphoneunlock.net or cellunlocker.net as I have had much success with them over the years. I don't know if you are using other sites but I am just contributing what I know so far
Good luck to you and your friend! :good:

Just make sure the ROM you are flashing supports official HTC codes, I think that is how it goes.
I can say that if you need codes use cellunlocker.net , they are pretty legit.
