Hello
Thanks for reading my post.
I just had my Nexus 7 repaired from ASUS , since then i have installed both CM 11 (snapshot) and Stock Rom 4.4.2 . N7 is not able to connect at more than 54mbps , i remember before it went for repait it used to get speeds up to 150 mbps.
If someone can suggest anything i can do at my end or is it because of some hardware fault?
Note: i have not changed my router settings (DGND3700) at all , Nexus 5 connects at 135 mbps .

Rich guy!. Both my home wifi and my LTE connection run at approximately 15-30 mbps.
Your 54 mbps is far faster than what regular folks can even get access to!
I wonder what you need higher speeds for
i think you misunderstood.. i am talking about local LAN network router not internet speeds...

I don't think that he misunderstood. He seemed to be making a point about his general Internet speeds.

The WiFi "carrier" speed is no relation to your 'net speed. You want a fast connection not just for throughput but for capacity (sharing with other devices) and latency. Not all access for people is off-site.
I know this doesn't really help, but none of my androids have connected beyond 54. Are you sure it connected faster before?
Edit: nevermind I'm connected at 60 right now.

Are you actively using the connection?
If the device is just idling it will scale back down to save power, on 802.11n that's 24mbit for me.

Yukkers!
I personally don't rate this site much. Somewhat limited, but in all fairness functional.
Try this one for a bit more variety (and it's global)

Nah.. If I could, we would all own Kaisers by now
tbh
speed test sites are generally not very accurate for reporting true sustained speeds, the best thing to do is download a 3-4mb files (such as an mp3) and measure the time it takes.
On tmob in central london using this I manage an average of 1mbps
How did you guys get the speedtest.net to work?
My Hermes/PIE tells me it needs Flash 7, yet it doesn't seem to be available for the mobile market yet.
well, flash is avaible for wm 5....
just go to adobe.com and search for it..
or take this link:

Thanks very much. I must be going blind. I looked all over the Adode site

I agree in denver we just got moved to the 3g network. My speed test as this morning was 1100kbps or 137KB
..DL/UL speed in Penang, Malaysia (Celcom 3G/UMTS 2100), all tests done on PC, teethering vide USB using device ICS, within this few hrs..
Doesnt really matter. No one is getting over 1.2mbit a sec. I've had wifi enabled and sat the phone directly on top of the router and the max I can get is 1.1-1.2mbit downstream. Avg 700-1mbit on hsdpa at&t 3g network in toledo, OH.
I guess you guys are testing from your PC's not your PPC as I still can not get speedtest.net to work on my Hermes.
Anyhow here's my connection speed on my ADSL

man.. only wish that we can get that kind of speed with our pocket pc using HSDPA.. wait till super HSDPA is here where it won't be limited to 1.8Mbps..
anyway, testing with your PC while teethering vide Internet Connection Sharing is one way to gauge your HSDPA/3G speed..
nonetheless below is the test I done directly on my 838pro (go here
Code:
http://text.dslreports.com/mspeed?t=4&s=100&r=26461&w=
) on your Pocket IE to do the test..
this test was done, while device is connected to PC & internet sharing was running, therefore it would not be that accurate, ..though shown as not at a "superspeed "but HSDPA speed nonetheless..
& here is what the PC shown when test was done, .. tested more or less during the same period..
the speed will fluctuate, but for us with HSDPA connection, as long it is above 384 kbps, it should be ok...
4g is starting to roll out here(slc,ut), highest speeds I'm getting right now are 2.73mb Down and 0.99 mb UP, seems like those caps sprint was talking about are in effect, anyway to break them like you wizards did with the 30fps cap issue or is it because 4g is not officially released here yet?

What caps are you talking about? Look at one of the 4g speed threads, many have had much better results that your test above.

well i hope your right cause it looks like im capped at 1mbps right now, hopefully it improves when they officially roll out 4g in couple days

Hmmm, I've had better results before, but I don't get a 4g signal in my house. I'll test again when I'm out and about.

Sprint has openly stated they are capping 4g at 1mbps upload for now. The official cap is 10/1 though they may raise it at a later date.
My home cable internet is capped at 10/1
And my evo on wifi uses every drop of it, which is cool to see
You won't need more than 512 kbit/s anyways unless you are trying to torrent. The latency is too crap to play/host any online games anyways.

1 mbps Upload, Not bad at all
I work for a medium size ISP our fastest internet tier is 10.1mbps down with 1.0mbps up. So for 1mbps up on a mobile phone that is really good. I understand Comcast has 50x10 packages which is insane and awesome, but 1mbps on upload is really good, should be plenty fast
Wow im in Houston and NEVER got more than 3Mbps down and ofcourse only 1 up.

I have the 50/10 but Comcast is rolling out 105/15 within the next month or so here.
1Mbps upload is nothing... I've had 2 for ages.
Getting 0% on a multiple choice test is as hard as getting 100%. Consecutive perfect 1.00Mbps uploads are just that, a solid proof of throttling =P
That is TERRIBLE speed...
What's the fastest speedtest? I've seen 9 on YouTube, has anybody got any faster?
My Dl speeds have been quite slow, but for some crazy reason the other night I was DL at 600kb UL at 6mb
i know.
i didn't typo that. i was uploading 10 times faster than i was downloading, and i was uploading faster than my home internet connection will go.
I've hit 7.2 download a week ago. I normally average between 4.5-6.

I've gone up to 4.5 Mbps. Haven't done many speed tests.
Let me preface this with I work at a Radioshack.
When we first got the G2's in, before the phone actually launched, I tested one out just to see what kind of speeds it could get. My store is in a 5 bar HDPA+ area. The first test out of the box I got 8mpbs, and the second I got 10.5mbps, every one after that was ~10. After the phone launched and a few weeks went buy I got mine and iv been getting between 4-7mbps in the exact same spot.
So the phone is capable of it, but now that tmobiles network is getting more hammered by HSPA+ phones its slowing down I think.
The highest I received was 5.8 and that was in Las Vegas....
fastest i ever got was 4.85 mb/s after the ota. but it wasnt on hspa+ just hspa 7.2.. still just "3G"...
Taken in Plano, TX. Don't really like the fact that my wife's Vibrant will go to the server in Dallas and my old MyTouch always went to the one in Dallas, but my G2 will not find it for anything.
I've gotten around 7 or 8 as my highest in Western New York. Pretty decent speeds.
i can't figure this one out.
Normal:
I would like to post my Speedtest result but cannot figure out how to paste it in a message. I feel like an idiot, help?

I tested out in aurora once, said I was >5 miles from the server and I got a whoppin 8.6 mbit down. It was about the fastest I've ever tested but I average around 3-5mbit anywhere else.
i have exactly same issues with my Galaxy nexus as on this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc1O96De7OU
I try change every setting i can but no effect..
802.11g i get 23Mbps speed in speedtest
802.11n it is 5Mbps. (sometime i cant measure becouse wifi reconnect, droping, "lagging" conection - like connected but do nothing while browsing)
Using Belkin N+ router.
Im using AOKP milestone5 all stock but it has same on non rooted stock phone.
This is what i get on notebook with 802.11n only

Try a different wifi channel on the router.
I think the GN supports any of the first four channels.
5GHz is disgracefully and HORRIBLY broken on the GN. Class action suit might be in order…

This might sound dumb, but are you sure your router has 802.11ac and not just N and that in the router configuration it is turned on? Figure I would cover the basics first
Are you sure the other devices on the network are all on AC? Because my understanding is that if one device on the wifi network does not meet the requirements, that every device gets dragged downwards.
Please let me know.
I have a Ubiquity UAP-AC access point. Most devices connect to it through N. The only other 802.11ac device I have is a Linksys WUMC710 media bridge. It connect does connect properly on AC.
Thanks

first time I have heard that after some quick googling it looks like ac devices will slow if there's a 5 GHz N device connected and actively using that connection and wont slow completely to N speeds but not necessarily to N speeds
You will still connect using 802.11ac, but performance would suffer if you have slower clients connected. Your connection rate should still say 390Mbps or so.
It says 433 here, so yes, ac is working fine (maxing out my 120Mbit subscription) :good:
Maxing out my connection too

Depends how many spatial streams the device supports.
40MHz 2x2 - 300Mbps
40MHz 3x3 - 450Mbpa
40MHz 4x4 - 600Mbps
80MHz 1x1 - 433Mbps
80MHz 2x2 - 867Mbps
80MHz 3x3 - 1300Mbps
Make sure your wireless router is utilizing 80MHz.
Mines connectting in N too
Something is funny with this chip compared to my note 4 with same router configurations even on 80mhz it wont always connect as AC
Well even at 40mhz its doing good lol
