What's the fastest speedtest? I've seen 9 on YouTube, has anybody got any faster?
My Dl speeds have been quite slow, but for some crazy reason the other night I was DL at 600kb UL at 6mb
i know.
i didn't typo that. i was uploading 10 times faster than i was downloading, and i was uploading faster than my home internet connection will go.
I've hit 7.2 download a week ago. I normally average between 4.5-6.

I've gone up to 4.5 Mbps. Haven't done many speed tests.
Let me preface this with I work at a Radioshack.
When we first got the G2's in, before the phone actually launched, I tested one out just to see what kind of speeds it could get. My store is in a 5 bar HDPA+ area. The first test out of the box I got 8mpbs, and the second I got 10.5mbps, every one after that was ~10. After the phone launched and a few weeks went buy I got mine and iv been getting between 4-7mbps in the exact same spot.
So the phone is capable of it, but now that tmobiles network is getting more hammered by HSPA+ phones its slowing down I think.
The highest I received was 5.8 and that was in Las Vegas....
fastest i ever got was 4.85 mb/s after the ota. but it wasnt on hspa+ just hspa 7.2.. still just "3G"...
Taken in Plano, TX. Don't really like the fact that my wife's Vibrant will go to the server in Dallas and my old MyTouch always went to the one in Dallas, but my G2 will not find it for anything.
I've gotten around 7 or 8 as my highest in Western New York. Pretty decent speeds.
i can't figure this one out.
Normal:
I would like to post my Speedtest result but cannot figure out how to paste it in a message. I feel like an idiot, help?

I tested out in aurora once, said I was >5 miles from the server and I got a whoppin 8.6 mbit down. It was about the fastest I've ever tested but I average around 3-5mbit anywhere else.

Don't know why I keep getting like. 1 mbps everywhere I go. Is it just sprint in my area? Or do I have a hardware problem. I rarely see 3 bars and I never see 4 like ever. I remember doing technofiles Verizon prl Hack but it didn't like my phone very much so I RUUd and updated my prl. I don't think that's my problem. I'm in a heavily populated suburb of Sacramento idk why the coverage would suck...

your best bet is to try the prl again.... thats the only way i ever get a faster 3g connection. i switched back and forth just to see my sprint speeds again. lol
I am having the same problems. I have searched for answers and have tried running the newest RUU for the 3.70 version and it still isn't working any better. I went to my local Sprint store and they said there was no problem. If I do the Sprint Zone "I need help" and it checks my connection status it shows that both voice and 3G connections are good. Something is going on and not sure if I need to take phone back and exchange because of bad radio. 4G does work when I drive 40 miles to a city that has it. So, that is not a problem. I know there is another thread on data connection problems but people read different ones and hopefully someone who has experienced and found a solution can give us some insight. Nothing like paying $94.00 a month for less than dial-up speeds!! Thanks and have a great day to all.

Any good speeds out there?

Here in Seattle, I just got 10390, 11574, and 10063 down on three consecutive tests using mobilespeedtest.
Using Ookla's SpeedTest app, I could only get 2.5 down/0.6 up, without having moved the phone *at all*.
Mobilespeedtest isn't accurate. The speedtest.net app is the one that you should trust.

Ha I'm in austin with around 6 down and 1.02 up. At least that's the general average with speedtest.net.

So what type of upload speeds should we be getting, is the phone HSUPA compatible? With all this talk about the Atrix and it's upload speeds, it makes me wonder if I am getting cheated out of faster upload speeds. Thanks for listening.
Never seen more than 5mps dl and 4 upload. In las vegas, no more than a mile away from a 3g listed tower. Phone shows -71dbm when I tested just outside of my house and looking in the direction of where the tower is.
My wifi gives me almost 9mbps second down and 4 to 7 upload. (I don't pay for the really fast speed service at home)

I'm in Seattle and got 1159kbps on mobilespeedtest. But I got 3005kbps on speedtest app. My average at home is between 2.5mbps and 3mbps on speedtest app and speedtest.net tethered. I don't know about that mobilespeedtest. The first test gave me 700kb, the second 1159 and the third 2186 within 2 minutes. Speedtest.net has always been more consistent than that for me, and pretty comparable to my other go-to, integra.net (also Ookla FWIW though.)
Chinly43 (or anyone in Seattle): Hope you don't mind if I pick your brain about the G2 in Seattle. I tried to check out your posts but am unclear if you found a good radio, or other solution, that gets the G2 to stop freaking out while traveling around the city? Does yours freeze up and lag? Are you getting dropped calls? Can you tell me what solution worked for you? I am in Northgate but problems started in Bellevue and also the University area while on the bus. At home my data flickers into H+ intermittently but remains on 3G 99.9% of the time. Thanks for any advice you can give.
hit 7 mbps the other day in houston. BUT i was never to replicate it.
I feel that HSPA+ is a myth. Any time I have looked at a tmousa 4G phone's mobile network type to see which network it is connected to, it ALWAYS says HSDPA. Can anyone tell me if it ever says HSPA, HSPA+, or if it is just supposed to say HSDPA?
The most i could get in Italy with speedtest.net was 6.07Mbps down and 3.14 up... even though I think the carrier's network just supports 7.2, hopefully in a few months it will be upgraded to 14.4
The most I've ever seen in Orlando was 8mbps dl, maybe 2mbps ul. On average though I get less than that, depending on the area I'm in.

I'm having horrible 3G speeds at work here and was wondering if anyone else was having these issues? It shows i have full 3G bars yet when i run speed test i'm consistently getting only around 100 Kbps, I'm not sure if it's the service or the phone.
Anyone else noticing ridiculously slow 3G speeds?
Not sure. Here are my Verizon 3G speeds.

Here's my past couple ones on 3G. I dunno whether or not to call Verizon about this or not.
Why wouldn't you call Verizon about it? If it's a network problem, they could tell you. If it's a defective phone, they could help you with that as well.
I always get horrible 3g speeds at my job... similar to what you are seeing even though the signal is good. I think some towers are slower then others.
Were you getting better speeds before this phone?

Those look identical to Sprint 3G speeds.

I would give verizon tech support a call, maybe they can provision the phone again and and maybe that would help. You're sitting in a good 3G and 4G area, there isn't any reason to get those kind of speeds you're seeing.
just decided to test out my normal data speeds when home and not using wifi and im shocked to find out im only getting in the 20-40 kb/s a second download while the upload is a normal 1500-2000 kb/s most of the time. my internet/play store/etc were working fine while i was at work yesterday over the tmobile network, not sure of exact speeds though. i cant remember the last time i used the mobile network at my house and not wifi so i cant tell if its my house as a problem or just some flukey network problem but ive been trying to find everything that would cause this with no luck so far. any ideas?
Are you rooted and do you have your IMEI? What's your signal strength? Go to settings / about phone/ status and signal
I personally average between 73-85dBm and I gt good speeds

yes i am rooter but i still have my imei, i was just out for a bit and did a speedtest near the store and it came out decent enough. just got back home and getting around 7.2 mb/s down and 1.4 up with a 340 ping, not great but workable. im guessing it was just on tmobiles end, and a coincidence it worked itself just in time for me to test it again out of the house thanks for the help!

I was amazed at this phone on verizon.

You got me beat. I was amazed at the 24-26 I got in the Cincinnati-day ohio area. Coming from a galaxy s3 I was use to 6-8 on average.
This is the best I've gotten so far. Northwest Minneapolis suburbs.
I don't get higher than 9 down where I am. I'm actually sort of disappointed in this. I was hoping that my area was on XLTE. On regular LTE, the network is so saturated and crappy. I have 50/5 internet through Centurylink, with a Netgear Nighthawk router. My wifi speed tops out at 12 down. I get 26 down on my macbook, and 46 down on a wired connection.
I really was hoping for better results. I mean I know that the LTE situation in my area is a sad joke, but I have some pretty good speeds through CL.
I'm pretty happy

my area used to get horrible speeds of like 1mbps. I complained a lot. I think they finally fixed the towers here, and my g2 started getting like 10 to 15...ny note 4 gets 20 to 30. it's pretty awesome.

You guys still on "global" or did you switch to "LTE/CDMA"? Trying to decide if I should switch. Not really noticing any problems with Global but I haven't really ran much tests. Will do some today and post back.
I got 25mpbs where my g2 couldn't pull 10

switched to LTE/CDMA and noticed no difference.
Did this one just yesterday morning. Super happy.
Took this right after getting the phone.
The was on my Note 3, but the Note 4 would have gotten the exact same thing.

I get those speeds throughout my college campus in So Cal. I've actually stopped using the campus Wi-Fi because of it. Thank god for unlimited data.
