UMTS? - Sprint LG G2

Quick question here:
Is this variant capable of working on UMTS 850mhz (Non domestic)? I live abroad, and i'm planning to purchase this variant. There is conflicting information all over the internet about this specific model's UMTS capabilities, so i thought i better ask here than anywhere else
Thank you all in advance!

I'm using it on the Bell network in Canada which uses UMTS 850/1900 frequencies. Many people are using it abroad, maybe someone in your area can confirm.

Mine shows H+ or just H. Since I'm using cloudy g3 rom i can edit the build.Prop to get an AT&T 4G symbol if i want. I've never had it show 3g though.

AT&T 2G/3G WorldWide [SOLVED]

Guys,
I bought an E980 (AT&T) and brought to brazil, unlocked it and its working great except for 2G/3G, just doesn't connect, I checked the frequencies and it's a match, my mobile operator (Claro) uses GSM 850-2G/2100-3G, are there any configurations/tests/flashings I can do for it to work?
G Pro - http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_g_pro_e985-5254.php
Thanks.
Sorry, meant to post in Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.
One correction, my operator uses 1900 while AT&T 2100, but E980 is capable of 1900, I think it come disabled, can I activate it somewhere? Thanks.
AT&T doesn't use 2100Mhz. They use 850Mhz and 1900Mhz. 2100Mhz is mostly international like Asia and Europe. Check APN setting and also check *#*#4636#*#* if you're able to switch to HSPA/EDGE.

Thanks for the answer cpro, but the solution was actually alot easier, I was configuring the APN as a VPN, after gotting it right it's working like a charm, 5MBPs downlink.

GS5 Europe Compatibility in the US

I'm not sure where I would post this exactly anyhow =p but I don't know much about antennas and such and what the US primarily uses for phone towers and 4g and all that. How well would the European version of the s5 work in the US? More specifically the G900K which is for Europe usage.
Some specifics for the euro s5:
Network:
LTE 800/850/900/1800/1900/2100/2600); UMTS (850/900/1900/2100MHz) ; GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz)
HSPA (Download/ Upload) LTE Cat4 (150Mbps/50Mbps) / HSDPA+ 42Mbps / HSUPA 5.76Mbps / 3G / EDGE / GPRS

1st, this should have been posted in the Samsung Galaxy S5 q&a forum. It looks as if the radios are similar, but you cannot flash roms or any other software that are NOT designed for your phone. That's how bricks happen

Well duh.. Wasn't planning on rooting. I'm just curious as to how compatible.. Don't want to get a phone with no 4g in the us

You will have to unlock the phone to use in the U.S. Also sometimes stock software is not always compatible in the U.S. You will likely have issues with text and mms messages because of incorrect apns, as well as 4g issues.

Thanks a lot. It works supports GSM fine.
What about 3g? Does it support that as well? It says CDMA while other mobile specs mentions UMTS.
If you own this set. Can you confirm if the GPS works without internet?

Hi AhmedRana
I have ls950 and am using in India with GSM operator Vodafone. Both 2G and 3G data work fine.
I could not test 4G As India is using LTE band 40 which is not support by ls980.
I think the phone GPS needs data connection to work.
Hope it helps

The LS980 (Sprint G2) works fine on 2G, 3G/UMTS, and 3.5G aka HSPA and HSPA+ networks here in the U.S. for AT&T and T-Mobile - it will not work on any LTE networks in the U.S. except Sprint's network because it is limited to using their particular LTE bands (bands 25, 26, and 41) which do not have any crossover for AT&T (bands 2, 4, and 17) or T-Mobile (bands 2, 4, and 12).
With the last G2 I had (might be getting another one later today, another LS980) I was easily pulling down close to 39Mbps using T-Mobile's HSPA+ without issues which is just shy of the theoretical maximum of 42Mbps so it worked great for me, YMMV as always.
for 3G, isn't LS980 limited to UMTS band 2100 ?
what about the other bands 850/900/1900 ?
Back of phone's box. See by yourselves.

Can someone confirm AT&T LTE on the T-Mobile H811?

Hi All,
I am on T-Mobile and AT&T and wish to purchase the H811 T-Mobile variant. Has anyone done this and then used the phone on AT&T? I see conflicting information where this model has Band 17 support, but on the T-Mobile site it doesn't list Band 17. T-Mobile's site is notoriously bad about leaving out supported LTE bands, so I thought maybe someone could tell me first hand if they've gotten LTE on AT&T's network but with the T-Mobile branded handset? This would be a HUGE help. Thank you so much in advance.

I'm going by the specs on LG page. Just googled "T-Mobile H811 full specs" and it states that frequencies are: LTE bands 2,4,12 and roaming bands 3,5,7.

Thanks, just did that as well and sadly there is no band 17
No Band 17 means no AT&T (or bad AT&T)

Just wanted to confirm Band 17 is a must-have (or LTE coverage is poor without it). I'm in Seattle if it matters. H811's are cheaper right now but AT&T is a must-have for me.
I use an F500L on Cricket aka AT&T it's always on Band 5, I've not experienced any issues with data on LTE.
EDIT: you can check detailed specifications on XDA's PdaDB here http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=8059&id2=8046
Since this post is a bit old I figured I'd double check. Any update on the T-Mobile H811 working on AT&T?
Is it confirmed no band 17, and that 17 is for sure needed if you're looking for LTE service?

VS986 UMTS-3G bands

I was reading this phone specs through LG directly and others as phonescoop and pdadb. LG says this phone does not support UMTS, just CDMA, 2G and LTE, but others says it does. Has somebody used this phone 3G overseas?
I've connected to T-Mobile HSPA+ here in the U.S. with it.

Ok. Thanks. I was also reading verizon support web site and it shows network mode menu with the option LTE/UMTS/GSM available. Probably people that is reporting only edge with Tmo is maybe because they are in areas where 3G is at 1700/2100. This phone has only 850,900,1900,2100.

I'm traveling right now and have been using the phone in Germany, England, and Netherlands and had HSPA+ everywhere (with the proper sim of course). No LTE anywhere.

Verizon tends to only publish bands that they use as available on phones. For instance it says the VS986 only works on LTE bands 2, 4, and 13.
