I'm actually a little embarrassed to even have to ask this question, I'm also pretty sure I know the answer but better safe than sorry. Can anyone confirm that the Tmobile version of the TP2 is able to access the ATT 3G network? I'm 99% sure it will but that weird Tmob band makes me nervous, any input would be appreciated.
No, it will not. However the ATT version shouldn't be too far behind the Tmo launch so don't worry too much
no offense but what is the basis for your statement, the Tmob version will have
850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100 bands which are basically the ATT bands plus 1700, why would the Wing II not work on the ATT network?

Please show me where you found this data? Tmobile USA 3g network doesn't use the 1900 band for 3g; they use the 1700 band which is why Tmobile has to have devices specifically made for their network and why the Tmobile USA version won't work on ATT USA.
Again to clarify:
Tmobile USA = 1700/2100 for upload/download for its 3G
ATT = 850/1900 for upload/download for its 3G
Now Tmobile USA does use the 1900mhz frequency but that its GSM frequency it is not related to the 3g frequency. Confusing i know, but you asked.
One of the images advertising it does state all those bands, but does not differentiate which are for gsm and which for 3G (which can be misleading and confusing, ergo the clarification by jim_0068 ^). Though if they share the 2100 I have no idea whether you can get limited functionality or if you HAVE to have both of them. *shrugs*

actually this is not entirely true either,
AT&T is using 850 and 1900 Mhz for their 3G network,
it was revealed recently that they are pushing the 3G network to the higher frequency (850) and plan to have the 3G completely on 850 by 2010.
if AT&T is using 2100, we would've been able to use the european HTC devices which has the 2100 band.

As far as I'm aware:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS:1700/2100
And therein lies the problem... While it supports all the bands that would be required, only a small subset actually apply to a 3G connection/signal...
Minimally, that would be the specs for it to work on T-Mobile, and quad-band GSM is just standard on 99% of phones these days...

You're correct and i edited my post it is 850/1900 for ATT US 3G
I gaurantee you that the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 will not work on ATT's 3G Network At All... the frequencies for ATT will only support the 2G Network and therefore only phone calls and text messaging will work.
let's not go that far, let's not forget gprs (same speed as dial-up) and more importantly EDGE (for some that's more than enough).

GSM (900+1800)+UMTS(900+2100)
GSM (1900+850)+UMTS(1900+850)
UMTS(2100+800)

hmmm why is there 800 MHz?
Obviously this is some bull**** because it supports all of the 3G frequencies of worldwide carriers and american carriers.
I wouldn't trust this guy, he has 4 posts and he's obviously posting rumors.

I think those numbers are for software only, in fact you probably don't have the hardware to support the frequencies of the wrong carrier.
seems that 800mhz is for Japan
and it doesn't allow for all of the North American bands (it's missing the 1700 one).
Could be just a software thing without hardware support, though that might be a tad odd, any way to check if it is?

My Xperia X1a shows UMTS (900) even when I check the settings... IN FACT only the X1i supports
It's very likely that the numbers you are seeing are actually all of the frequencies that are "summed up" and therefore the TP2 for T-mobile does not have the actual hardware.

Those options have been around with the custom ROMs, I have that too on my Fuze, if your hardware doesn't support it then it'll just be an eye candy.
Bottom line is this, if you want to utilize AT&T's 3G, then you'll need to wait for AT&T's Fortress because you need the 850 and 1900 band (UMTS band II). If you want to use T-mobile's 3G you still need a TP2 that has the 1700 and 2100 band (UMTS band IV), and no you cannot use european TP2 to access US T-mobile's 3G band because european's (and asia's) 3G utilizes UMTS band I, they are on a slightly different frequencies even though they are categorized both on 2100Mhz.

I been searching the forums but unable to find an answer to this question. I have a LT28at (AT&T Xperia ion) and i flashed it with the baseband of LT28i (from .69 package). Now the phone will not pick up t-mobile LTE bands. I was wondering if there is anyway i could manupulate it to pick up LTE whenever it detects it and still have AWS bands for HSPA+? I am in the SF Bay Area where t-mobile has LTE.

If you are not getting LTE
I would check to make sure the APN info is there first. From what I understand this device does not work well on Tmo as it does not support the 1700 band. But if your in a spot that Tmo is using the shared 1900 band it should work. I have never tried so cant be much more help than that.
My apn is correct... It is set to fast.t-mobile.com. So I know it's not the apn settings.
have you tried to flash all the complete firmware?

I am getting LTE now I fixed it in the settings LT28at does support LTE AWS and been using LTE on AWS for T-Mobile.
So my screen with *#*#7378423#*#* -> configuration shows the following:
"Working band/s:"
GSM 850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS_BC1 (2100), UMTS_BC2 (1900), UMTS_BC4 (1700), UMTS_BC5(850), LTE_BC4 (AWS which T-Mobile uses), LTE_BC17 (700 AT&T)
Also Once the Flashed LT28i baseband the default was set to WCDMA preferred that is why I could not get LTE. But I fixed it with *#*#4636#*#* and set it to LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM

That's correct. Then the question is, does flashing the baseband actually change the frequencies used by the phone? I didn't think it did but now it sounds like flashing the international baseband enables the 1700 frequency.

It seems so. The original a authors of the threads are the ones to give credits to. I was simply asking how to enable LTE back after the international baseband flash. Everything works great! 1900 bands picks up really well for 1900 band reframed on T-Mobile. When I get into a zone with AWS1700/2100 it changes over pretty quickly. As for LTE, it picks it up whenever the LTE is available. Currently I am using Open Signal's widget to see what kind of bands it picks up.

I'm using it on the Bell network in Canada which uses UMTS 850/1900 frequencies. Many people are using it abroad, maybe someone in your area can confirm.

Mine shows H+ or just H. Since I'm using cloudy g3 rom i can edit the build.Prop to get an AT&T 4G symbol if i want. I've never had it show 3g though.
Found much conflicting info on HSPA band support for the US unlocked/developer model.
htc.com says it supports 3G UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz. But is also says it supports 4G LTE: FDD: Bands 1,3,5,7,8,20,28, which is COMPLETELY wrong so i don't know if to trust htc.com.
Can anyone confirm the UMTS band support for this device? I am most interested in 900mhz UMTS because of trips to New Zealand where 900 mhz UMTS is often used.

Really dont know about it, but as far as i know you can flash radio bands anyways, so look for it on the web or this site, i use dev with no prblems at all in mexico with LTE. =D

I am looking into getting the HTC One M9 through AT&T but may switch to T-Mobile in the future.
As such I want a phone that fully supports both networks ...
I found a thread that it is supposedly possible to flash the AT&T phone to support developer ROMs but I can't find any information whether it is possible to also change band support. According to GSM Arena the AT&T version of the phone also supports LTE band 4 and 12 (needed for T-Mobile) but it doesn't support VoLTE on band 12, nor does it have 3G AWS (1700/2100), though of course there is a T-Mobile version of the phone WITH support for all of those.
Can I simply flash my phone so that I can (a) use CM13/AOSP roms and (b) so that the radio uses the proper AT&T or T-Mobile bands and tech?

WELL I DONT BELIVE cm13/AOSP WOULD BE BEST OPTION I FLASHED DVEELOPER 2.11 AND OVER IT VIPERONE 3.5.0 (WWE BASE 2.10) ANS WORKS FINE, AFAIK.... TELCEL BANDS (MEXICO) ARE FULLY COMPATIBLE AND PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS ATT, ACTUALLY I FOLLOWED IN THE HTC M9 THREAD HOW TO CHANGE MY PHONE (ATT) TO DEVELOPER EVEN WHEN I HAVE TELCEL AND IT WORKED!!! =D YOU SHOULD HAVE NO ISSUE.

The T-mobile version of the M9 supports the most bands. The AT&T and Developer Edition are identical and are missing some bands needed for t-mobile LTE (Volte) support in some areas. Flashing different radios will not enable bands the phone does not have. Theirs more information in the T-mobile M9 forums

Thanks for the reply. I have checked GSM arena, plus anything else I could find on google. I don't see a listing for the unlocked/developer edition on this page. I see EMEA, Verizon, ATT and T-mobile.
And yes, sorry, I didn't realized there was an AWS for HSPA, i was just thinking about band 4 LTE on ATT which I think is AWS.

It's pretty difficult to find out info on band support, and I have no idea why. It should be readily available...
Anyway, have a look at this: http://wireless.fcc.gov/hac_documents/150813/9135276_21.PDF
Based on that, there are four models sold in the U.S., which are:
0PJA100 (which appears to be the AT&T version)
0PJA120 (which appears to be the TMO USA version)
0PJA200 (which appears to be the Sprint version)
0PJA300 (which appears to be the Verizon version)
The AT&T model supports the following: UMTS 850MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz.
Now, that said, if you look on AT&T's site, they list their model as 0PJA110, so obviously either the FCC site is wrong or the AT&T site is wrong.
I happen to have the 0PJA110 model, which is also the Rogers model (so it would make sense that the AT&T version is 0PJA110 because Rogers and AT&T generally have the same devices, and their networks are generally the same frequencies). Based on HTC Canada's site, the Rogers model supports UMTS 850MHz, 1700MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz.
Now, for the assumption: From what I have read (but I haven't personally confirmed), the unlocked and developer models are the same as the AT&T model. If that is indeed the case, then you have your answer: No UMTS 900MHz support the unlocked and/or developer models (in fact, not UMTS support on any U.S. model).

I know this is a delayed followup, but I wanted to say thanks for this. I finally got HTC to confirm that UMTS 850MHz, 1700MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz are the official specs for the US unlocked edition(which, oddly, is marked 0PJA110 on the back).
I am pushing them for a refund for false advertising. I was so concerned that these specs could be wrong before I purchased the phone, that I did a chat with HTC and they assured me the correct specs were UMTS 850MHz, 900MHz, 1700MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz. Once they confirmed these specs for me, I purchased the phone. Now they confirm they told me wrong. Very frustrating experience.
I am waiting to hear back about getting a refund. I am hoping the come through, this is crazy.
Could someone who has this exact model please confirm whether or not the FDD LTE band configuration is as follows?
Apologies for inconveniencing members with such elementary questions, but I have very impaired vision and there are few MASSIVE screen phones that work in the USA within my price range. I contacted Motorola and posted in their forum to be sure of this purchase, but to no avail.
Meanwhile every seller in the USA who claims to carry the XT-2087-1 Odessa variant is posting the FDD-LTE Configuration for XT-2087-2 (which lacks B12, B17 and B66) in their specification.
The config I think it is supposed to have is:
FDD-LTE Bands: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B17, B28 and B66
If that is correct, why are Amazon sellers are stating that this phone cannot use Volte? I do understand that getting Volte to work on an international model might require using short codes and/or activating the Sim on a different phone before using it with the G9 Plus, or maybe rooting and a custom rom, but that's okay. Just want to make sure it's not hardware limited).
Is anyone here using this phone with ATT or T-Mobile or an ATT/TMO MVNO?

I have that model but have no idea how to check that config
Thanks for replying. Are you using it in the USA and if you are can you tell me which carrier you are using and which LTE band is active? (Any Android app that checks network configuration can show the info).
How are you liking the phone?

No, I'm not from the US
Okay: I finally got a callback from Motorola international (who were no help at all as they referred me to the New Zealand website which is a different model).
However, the 4G LTE configuration for this exact model is listed on the Brazil website: https://www.motorola.com.br/smartphone-moto-g9-plus/p
It is as follows:
Bandas
2G - GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G - WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz
4G - LTE B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8
/B12/B17/B28/B66
This means the only major band this phone is lacking for TMO is band 71. Yes, it is increasingly important for TMO, but even without band 71, this is one of the few Motorola Dual Sim phones to include FDD LTE 12/17 & 66.
It should be fully compatible with AT&T (except that Cricket won't permit it to use Volte on the Cricket network ... AT&T MVNOs apart from Cricket seem to be fine).
I am probably going to take a chance and order this on Amazon. I will report back on how well it works with my two ATT MVNOs --- still looking for a cheap prepaid TMO MVNO sim for testing purposes, if anybody has suggestions.

friend. save your files and try to reset it with your carrier's chip and put it later when you go into airplane mode there within 2 minutes you can take it out of airplane mode that might solve your case. Hope this helps . here always help me doing this
