Problems? Solutions!
Data connection problems:
Simple:
If you unlocked with Freegee, Hopefully you have an EFS backup that you can restore. Reboot when done.
Check bottom of post to get Freegee to work.
Technical:
Grab a stock ROM for your device
Make a recovery backup of your CM ROM.
Wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Flash the stock ROM
Update PRL, update profile, get a strong GPS lock (GPS status & toolbox app)
If data hasn't returned at this point then you have a corrupted EFS. Hopefully you've unlocked with freegee and have an EFS backup that you can restore.
Restore recovery backup of CM.
Crash loops after enabling ART: use Aroma Filemanager or TWRP filemanager or adb shell to delete '/data/property/persist.sys.dalvik.vm.lib'
then reboot
android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly: make backups of contacts, go to 'settings>apps>all>Contacts Storage' and clear data. reboot to recovery and wipe dalvik and cache.
Freegee saying device is detected as LG-gee and unsupported: edit /system/build.prop and change "ro.product.model=LG-gee" to your phone's model. Like the following example:
SPRINT EXAMPLE ONLY:
ro.product.model=LG-LS970

Sorry, but no modifications will be made outside of the kernel being used.
The goal is just to have vanilla CM11 with the gee base.
It sounds wrong, but seems so right. Haha, cool man.
Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but what is the difference between this "Gee" base and the official Cyanogenmod base? I'm not trying to be rude, I really want to know. Sorry if it seems that way.

Questions are good.
Gee - is based on the nexus4's latest kit Kat 4.4.2 sources and is also much more closer to a nexus 4 than an optimus g.
I find this base to be better performing; a very noticeable difference with 3D games and emulators such as FPSe and Mugen64AE.
Official-CM/gproj/ls970 - is based on nexus4's older jellybean 4.2 sources and is more like an optimus g than a nexus 4.
This base has IMO a better display color profile and lower frame latency with 2D apps.
You cannot use an official-CM/gproj/ls970 kernel on a gee based rom.

Thank you for the response everyone! It helped a lot.
I have just a few more, I am sorry. So basically this is for Gee kernels and a slight better performance? Might try this out now. Is there any major bugs? And I know this varies from person to person, but is battery life on GEE based suppose to be better?

Correct.
The only bug I've run into is ART causing crash loops.
Battery life might depend on the kernel. Right now I build with xboxfanj's matr1x.
I plan on switching over to ThatKawaiiGuy's Franco kernel once the cpu governor bug is fixed and tested.

Even though this is plain ol' vanilla CM11, the conversion to Gee sources has made this ROM GODLIKE. I don't know if its a combination of Gee sources + the aosp kernels we have, but this runs so much better than the gproj version. Kinda almost makes me wish official CM11 would be converted to Gee, but I know we have some folks whose phones hates Gee ROMs, haha.

Mine used to hate gee ROMs but now gproj ROMs give me data issues. But yeah this version of CM11 is sweet!
Sent from my LG-gee using xda app-developers app
After flashing this rom, I will say it is A LOT more responsive! Loving it. Only bug I see is in camera, the image in portrait is very skinny and in landscape the image is very stretched out. But I am on 4/03 and it could just be a cyanogenmod issue. Just thought I would address it. The laggyness cm11 gave me (not so much lag, it just felt like my phone wasn't responding as fast as it would on stock) made me keep going back to stock. Now that this version is out, it runs much better. Thank you mike.
Edit: Correction, the picture comes out correct when you snap it. It is just the camera app that looks wonky, but the picture comes out fine. A work around for the non stretched preview is change the MP to 12.8 instead of 13

That doesn't indicate if its CM or TW. CM kernels are based on source from Samsung same as TW. OP should be updated to indicate TW-based kernel which I see has been done.

Agreed :good:
I just done some benchmark tests and they are pretty good in terms stock or ktoonsez kernel ( I've tried few configs about KT, but nothing like this one ) So the results are:
Quadrant: 6653
AnTuTu: 10469
Vellamo: Metal 627, HTML5 1889
20mins (on screen) doing benchmarks 5% battery
EDIT: @eaglerazor123 can you add date to the topic? It is easier to check for newer versions
And to ask again is it possible to ON the Fast Charging? In the very first post you say it is off by default so it means it can be enabled?

Guys...I want to hear about the best of the best Note 2 Roms for L900.
Right now my vote is with Carbon (07/09/13 Nightly) - 10 our of 10. GPS, MMS, Halo, Pie, Custom Kernel, Ribbons, etc. It all works right from the start. Not to mention...It's noticeably faster than SlimRom, Liquid (which still has MMS issues), and PAC-Man (which somehow drains my battery faster than other roms).
I want to hear your Reviews.
This has nothing to do with bashing developers or downtalking other people. I'm not interested in that. Let's stick to the facts and provide proof of why you think the rom you're running is the best.
This will also give newbies a little direction in our world.
Lastly, this is an attempt to give ALL developers an inside look at what's really important to the end-user.
LET THE REVIEWS BEGIN!!!
Yes the latest carbon rom nightly is very nice. The smoothest a d fasted aosp out there.
However, my complaint is wake locks.. It happens with ALL cm10.1 aosp rom..
Do you have wake locks too?
I'm running e: [ROM][MIUIv5][JB-4.2.2] MIUIandroid 3.6.28 port in by @lbxmobbin_1 and its one of the best Roms used in a long time.. Its very smooth and fast.. The ROM is excellent.. I haven't ran into any force closes.. Take some time and check it out ..

I feel the same way, but I don't have wake locks. I just flashed Carbon this morning so I'll report back if anything happens. Also, because I've tried LITERALLY EVERY aosp rom out now, I chose to revert back to unrooted stock, root it, install twrp, then flash carbon. I didn't want to chance having any GHOSTS in my system affecting performance. I'll report back later if I have any wake lock issues though.

Nice. Slim is a very close 2nd to me. I just don't like how the actual developers don't have an official release. I've been checking the website daily and it seems there is a SlimBean for many other devices except the L900. What's up with that?

Guys, Im just a newbie here and I would like to ask the community on what rom are you all currently using. I just want to know if there are any roms out there that are stable and well optimized a rom that will not cause any kernel crashes or any sort of those issues. Since I had a previous bad experience with paranoid android where it caused alot of kernel crashes which ended in a bootloop. Any suggestions will be appreciated thanks !
Only suggestion you will get is to try them all and stick with the one you like. It's a matter of taste. I recommend to mod stock rom with xposed framework and stick with it. No custom rom made of scratch will be better than an optimized software.
Sent from stock GT-I9505/smart phones, dumb people.
Stock rom is probably your best option. You could use Epsilon rom, which has some extra goodies added to the stock rom. But if you want to try something else I would suggest LiquidSmooth - it's really fast and has quite a neat line-up of customization options.
LiquidSmooth and Vanir ROM. Try the latest builds. Quite fast, not as stable as Stock, but really great to use.
+1 for Vanir.

ha, right. Now I remember. The presets on faux are pretty much all the same.
It's the adreno kernel that has pretty presets.
Can't go much further than that... Because I don't have access to an Ubuntu computer now.
So, faux has better battery. The adreno kernel, I still have around. I'll post later.
I cannot change the presets value now. But I'll definitely reinstall Ubuntu in the following days. This is an easy fix.

Stupid dev host nuked my files... I'll have to rebuild the adreno. If you do not mind waiting a bit, I'll cook it up with the led changes. Did you try themes? I had no luck with that.

found a backup. flashing now to test.
Adreno Kernel, tested, flashed. works with "correct" color presets.

@geokilla, try it out
for faux, you're gonna have to do it by hand. that means playing with colors and such. as I said, i can't edit source now...
No idea why the themes keep crashing. That's just bad source...
I really like 4.3, because all features *should* be working, but theme crashing is kinda lame.
gonna redownload source and rebuild.

You work too hard just like all the devs haha. Will give it a try in the morning! And take your time if you need to implement further fixes or whatever. I'm in no rush.
Though I do remember seeing a thread somewhere on how to manually edit the colour by using the sliders in Trickster Mod. Do you remember seeing such a thread? Or maybe it was a post? I'm gonna see if I can find it in the in the afternoon if I still need it.

I never downloaded the themes. I don't even know where themes are.

Themes are great if you get bored of aosp looks. My favorite (current ) is darkmiui and LG -g2. Yeah, I run a LG theme on custom Roms. I'm downloading source. It's a slow Internet connection here, so it'll take a while.

For colors, search in the nexus4 faux123 thread. Or you could try dvhexer old cm thread. And last place I would look is houstonn old PA thread.
Faux is easy on battery. Adreno has better performance.

well, there are zero new commits as carbon as moved to 4.4.2
So no point in resyncing and building again. I'd have to cherry pick the theme chooser from another rom. This is not as easy fix. . . . . ..
If you ever feel the need to try themes, I'd point you to paulicat's 4.3.1 aokp final build. He did one in late december and his nov 30th works really well. Both faux and adreno kernels will work on it. It's pretty close to carbon, less HALO.
I have found my 4.3 sources, I can always build something else for 4.3.1, it's pretty easy. I won't build any 4.4 rom any soon as it's all a big WIP and lots of actual devs are already working on that.
I do wish that Paulicat's led code would get incorporated in main CM code (that from which all other ROM's take their leds). Anyway,
back to carbon, it's pretty much take it as it is for now. Don't see new commits, won't rebuild.
Cheers!!

Ya I'm very bored of stock AOSP look so I definitely want some themes.. They have to be themes from the LG Optimus G forums right? And specifically built for Carbon? Or do Android Themes work too?
Do what you want to do haha. If you feel like it, then do it. If not, just leave it I'm not moving to 4.4 either because I feel it's too beta on our phones. If it was on the Nexus 5, I wouldn't mind running stock KK or something.
Thanks for your help!
Edit: @mathsz. I just remembered, I have a few bugs. After a couple hours, I notice that sometimes the physical and capacitive buttons on the phone don't work, except for the power button. Only way to fix it is to restart the phone. It wasn't a kernel problem because it happened before and after I flashed the other kernel that you mentioned.
Can anyone make one? I remember when I was rocking my DNA @crpalmer was building his awesome kernel that really improved the phone. I have yet to see that here. His kernel worked for pretty much any CM/AOSP based rom.

You can check the International HTC One forum. The CM/AOSP kernels there will be compatible.

Thank you! I will.
Edit: Most of the kernels are either 4.4 or sense only, the one that is 4.3 compatible constantly hot reboots using slimbean.

Just tried a 4.4 kernel from there and it worked fine with cm-11.

No, the Sprint One uses different mount points.
If you flash one of those, your phone will not boot.

Not sure if you're looking for a 4.3 or 4.4 kernel, but I use the Vanir Kernel on Illusion Rom which is 4.3 and it is amazing, battery life, performance, everything.
Where in sam hell is this International HTC One forum
Mind posting a link to this forum that has AOSP custom kernels...there are so many variations...it's a bit difficult to sort through it all...and YES I have used the search feature...
If anyone wants to test for me...I'm not much of an AOSP guy...and time is limited with the new baby...so constant flashing isn't viable at the moment. Here is 4.3.1 kernel with no changes (other than build modifications) to the cm10.2 source.

Cool I will flash it and let you know how it works.
edit: bootloops. Does not even boot the rom before rebooting

Awesome. I forked cyanogen's repo directly and it wouldn't build out of the box. So I changed the files necessary for it to build, and it won't boot...frustrating.
Thanks for the input. I will try to revert my changes and get it to build another way.

I believe it's this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one
Not many work for vzw and even fewer for 4.3, the only base that gives me good battery life.
