If you did nothing but install Jedi, I would check any preinstalled apps from your Google account. Or reflash Jedi.

Sounds like a calendar hourly Chime reminder or an alarm clock setting.
Let us know what it was.

If u check those both and nothing. Download better battery stats and at a min after open it and see what woke it up. Or log cat would tell a Dev what triggered the beep.

I looked at better battery stats today to find two wakelocks. They are both named GTALK_ASYNC_CONN_etc etc and they're both at 3.4% which is bad I believe. Anyway I figured that it might be the problem I'm having with battery in standby. Does anyone know how to remove gtalk? Thanks

check the wake lock time. If it's about a minute every hour, that's bad, less is usually ok.
If you are rooted, download root uninstaller from google play, and simply find "talk" and disable/freeze it, if you decide you want to remove it.
Problem solved!

Ok it says 8.5 minutes for both of them...and their at 2.9% after disabling the app. I will uninstall it and get back to yoj

8.5 min on how many uptime hours? If the phones been on for 16 hours that's not too bad. If its been on for 8 thats entirely different. But yes, let me know how it goes.

Every time I accidentally add a widget to my home screen like picture frame or flip board medium, it highly lags my fps. From 60 to 3 even after removing it, restarting my phone, and clearing ram and ending all active apps. Someone help me? I've already factory reset 3 times because of this very annoying bug

what u might wanna do is download voltage control and see if it isnt effecting ure speeds performance, alot has to do with overclocking and upscaling and downscaling when u do roms specially if uve installed kernels with OC on it. make sure that settings are corect, like governor section is to this category
500000 SA
90-95 for UP
10 DD
4 SDF
0 for both INL and PB
1 to IIB thats normal upscaling to governor
also make sure that ure settings arent set to low other then ondemand, or powersave, best once that seem to help are ondemand and msm-dcvs if voltage supports it. second section should be at cfq.
, if that doesnt fix it, u might wanna try a different rom if that doesnt fixes the problem, other whize u gonna have to odin back to stock do a factory reset from ure phone not the CWM do it 2 or 3 times, and re-try again and see if that fixs it.
Im not a dev so im not a pure expert at this but i go by how my phone functions with every rom i flash and the performance it gives, ive found both Phantom blaze and paranoid android roms seem to be the best for me. i switch back and forth to each other because i like the phablet mode on paranoid, and smooth and impressive battery life saver on phantoms. No kernels, other then what already comes with, except for the 2100mhz load krnel that supports for paranoid android,. seriously battery killer thought if u OC it to 2100.

either u might have a faulty GS3 or ure software installation went utterly wrong while updating and messed up somewhere in the middle of the installation. did u get it updated already or did u get it when it was using lg2 modem?
if u got it with the LG8 modem, try odin it back to LG2 or lower, and update from there, see if that helps.
u dont need to worry bout ure flash count going up because samsung software doesnt count on ure flash count no matter how many times u flash the Stock modem.
Um idk what that means. All I know is I have everything updated via updates and every S3 does this if it's stock. This is my second and it does it to. Set the picture frame widget or flip board widget medium to your home screen then do a nenamark

humm,...couldnt tell yah, if uve never rooted ure phone and are using stock software u might have a faulty gs3 with faulty software, ive never had my gs3 mess up on me on stock rom before i rooted. Ive had my GS3 non-rooted for about 3 weeks updated and all and no issues, no slow downs, only issues ive had was 1: my friend breaking my phone, 2 battery life, and not being able to store ure apps to ure sd card, all which was an easy fix with rooting and making my buddy get me a new phone.

Seriously? You are really asking this? Wow, unbelievable
Well I would personally think there's someone who knows how to fix this.. visually there's no difference. But after nenamark once I remove the widget I drop to 30 fps. And it stays that way. My thought is that it is locked into some sort of cache that I have to manually delete or clear for it to be like it never was added to home screen

Its like it was mention above, there really isnt anything any of the devs can do, if ure not rooted, and ure arent operating under a custom rom, ure pretty much using stock base software which only has to do with normal built development done by samsung, they should be ones u should be contacting not the devs here.......they only deal with phones with root and custom roms to make the phone better. Now u could try rooting ure phone and installig a custom rom to see if that does fix the problem, in most cases like ures, only thing to do is take it in to a sprint store and have it inspect or do it ureself odin it with a earlier version of modem, best 1 would be LG2 modem and update from there and see if that changes anything, i can garante u if u do take it to sprint they might charge u to inspect it again, and all they gonna do is odin ure phone from an earlier versions.

I'll have to add this to my list of rude things that shouldn't be said in a developers forum. We're not Samsung or Sprint customer service. We are people with lives, families, jobs, and other responsibilities. If you want help, this isn't the way to get it.

If you're stock non-rooted, then after a factory reset, there's nothing you could have done to mess this up.
If you go to a sprint store, they can reflash your stock software and see if that fixes the issue. It takes about 3 minutes, and in my experience, they've been very courtesy and helpful.

Try opening the settings>apps>launcher and clearing the cache and deleting the launchers data.
Widgets are stored in the launcher apps data, so clearing these values should put you back to default settings.
I know its been reported with jelly bean that the screen is unable to turn off normally and you have to push the power button to turn it off. Currently the only fix I know of is a reboot. Anyone with any other tips??

Yes, I'm on Wicked Sensations v1.2 right now. But i've read that a few people have been having this issue with JB. I just started using XDA so I can't post on the OP yet so thats why I posted here. I'm having the same problem
I am not rooted and running stock jelly bean (ota version that I installed early because I was too impatient for them to push it to my phone). I have noticed my screen randomly staying on, too. It's very annoying because sometimes I don't notice until my battery is dead. A reboot fixes it temporarily, but I'd love a permanent fix if anyone has any additional ideas! Thanks! I've tried all the obvious settings, but can't figure it out. Is there an app that can help me figure out what the culprit might be?
(And can I just say, an edit to a post ought not fall under the "wait five minute" rule for new posters. Just my two cents .)

Use an app called Stay Awake. Works great for me.
I've been having a problem with my phone staying awake for 6 or 7 hours at a time and draining my battery. And it seems like I'm the only one having this problem. I just want to know if anyone has been experiencing the same thing.

Do a search on the play store for wakelock apps. This should show you what is keeping your phone from deep sleep. More than likely it's something like social media that wants to be on ALL the time.

i emailed to kik's support, i can't really uninstall it as i use it on daily basis and sip integration is part of android os, so that can't be uninstalled either (but can be disabled) i'm kind of surprised it was trying to connect to sip as I thought this only works when phone is on wifi and not on mobile network...
Finally Found Battery Drain Fix
Note 2 (i317 unlocked using T-Mobile)
IOAP ROM v3.59
Latest AGNI Kernel (2.7?)
Philz Touch CWM
I switch ROMs between the IOAP and Ditto Note 3 (also w/AGNI) as my dailies. I get great battery life w/Ditto Note 3 ROM. However, on IOAP I was getting about 6-7 hours and draining fast overnight. I checked everything and GSam showed "Android OS" as the main culprit. I changed a setting to Location>Mode>Device Only. It was on "High Accuracy". Once I changed this, battery life was back to the same levels as DN3 ROM.

Sometimes my phone has gotten wonky on time usually as a result of battery swaps. happened even prior to my rooting.
All i needed to do was toggle off/on the Auto time set feature and it resets as it should.
All most over slept one morning because I for got to check the time after a battery swap prior to going to bed. Phone is my main alarm clock.
Just go to settings then under system go to date and time and then set the time yourself.

Samsung has introduced a qualcomm time service that might be responsible for weird time behavior. I know on my phone it can be off by up to two minutes, so what I did was disable this from running. If you're rooted, you can either disable it in titanium/application settings/adb OR just remove the application from /system/app/TimeService.apk
