Hi, after I reshelled the Acro S, the display wasn't working but the LEDs were? I did use professional tools with the phone off.

Seems to me some connection is loose. You might want to take it apart again. Check all connections and make sure you didn't break any ribbon cables.

I just traded my mini pro for a Xperia play with no back light working and sd card not reading. Ive dismantled all of the play and put it all back together and still the same problem and i have also used SEUS to reflash the software and still no back-light. You can see the play is on, its just really hard to see and i can receive calls. Im hoping to fix this for my my girl friend as i already have one.
My main concern is the back light and then the sd i think lol also the green light comes on when charging
So do i need a new screen or can i just change a part?

Is the screen light built in to the screen? Or could it be the proximity sensor is broke any one please
Also if I open the game pad a little bit the screen works and fully open didn't work.

Possibly a damaged ribbon cable?
That's what I think but the ribbon that connects to the screen and the keyboard is hard to get to, the only side I can get to is the side that connects to the keyboard, there's a video on YouTube but didn't show you how to take your digitizer or get the ribbon out completely.

The digitizer is not attached to the LCD and comes off with the frame. The cable goes under the LCD module and I've seen it for sale but I'm not sure if it's meant to detach from the other end. If it has a short or something, It's likely where it connects to the bottom half or where it folds anyway. Have you taken it apart and taken a look at the folding cable?

but my touchscreen(lcd) still working, i can make call receive call, open app and other.

Solve myselft, my problem is hardware coz i flash my xperia play and it doesnt work either, so i send to shop to repair and it done, the prob could be ribbon n lcd, mine was ribbon

which cable do you mean? the flex cable that goes with the slide up and down or something else on the digitizer?
as an idiot i changed the lcd but of course nothing works.. still no backlight...
My touch pads have never worked properly but i realized a few days ago that they only seem to work when i have my device tilted up and i use them in good light i.e. with a window behind them or some other light source. When i play in the dark they do not work at all!
Anyone know a solution to these problems?

Ah well at least i'm not the only one...
Yeah i figured that the touchpads were probably some sort of light detector sort of thing.
But the tilt thing really confused me... All i can think of is that there's some loose connection inside that falls out of contact when tilted in a certain way!
Disassembly
The only issue I would suspect is that the mechanism for the gamepad isn't attached fully to the housing. Either that or the gamepad needs to be replaced. If you can, disassemble the phone and examine the gamepad. Sony has a very descriptive guide on disassembly.:good:

Yesterday my screen and digitizer cracked because of my stupidity (had to throw it so it didn't get wet in a little fight for fun). Googled all day long just can't find an answer.. How can I get my pics out? Didn't sync and there's a lot of memories in there... I'm not going to pay for repair... Already ordered a Sony xperia z1 compact. Any ideas?

Exactly. Doomkernel v20 had it afair but it caused too much battery drain. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.maicas.android.wsleep emulates it somehow via the proximity sensor.
Won't work on Xperia Z1 Compact. I tried making one before doomlord even made it for Z1 but it won't work. Our digitizer doesn't support touch gestures while screen off. Perhaps our digitizer was made from a suppose to be mid range phone due to it's compact size hence it doesn't have that much feature.

yup, our touch panel doesn't work for it. Use some proximity sensor apps instead but yes they could battery draining and not working real well.

The best alternative way is to modify android.policy.jar to let hardware camera key(plz disable the camera launch and shoot in stock camera first) and vol +/- to wake up screen. I have been used it since Xperia S 4.0.4/4.1.2 but not sure if it still works now on our phone with KitKat. You guys can try it and report, I may try it later when I have time.

If you just want to lock the screen, use Screen Off and Lock app and set it to display in notification bar. Don't always press the power button to lock screen.
I've been used both Volume in Notification and Screen Off and Lock over a year on other android phone(I'm using them now on z1c) and they work very well for their job. Both power and volume button can be easy to defective just don't press them all days(but the power & volume key are very very hard on z1c, I beat they are hard to broken).

Not all though... There are a number of difference between Z1 and Z1 Compact.
1. Battery
2. Display
3. Back Panel
And as for digitizer
Z1 Compact has pressure sensitive digitizer while Z1 doesn't.
Z1 has stylus support while Z1 Compact doesn't.
Z1 Compact has glove mode support while Z1 doesn't.
Z1 has screen off gestures while Z1 Compact doesn't.
They both have the same manufacturer of digitizer but different types though. I guess there wasn't any 4.3 inch new technology digitizer available for that said manufacturer.

Bummer... just get used to with my old N4.
Hopefully the quality of the power button is better than the N4.

Same with you... Also got used to my HTC One. But yeah I guess we have to live with it... Anyways the power button seems great still good as new to me even if it's overused.

Are you 100% sure that you've connected it properly and that you've not damaged the flex cable or the contacts on the mainboard?

Did you replace just the glas or the entire display assembly?
The entire display, but it stopped working after it was dropped, I thought the LCD had been damaged but it's definitely not that.

Could be anything if the screen works when tested, might have damaged the board in the fall.
i have the same problem, Old LCD was partially broken, replaced it, not working with new one. Used a new flatcable, still not working, No Led or Startup screen. Only vibrates 1 or 3 times with power button
