[Q] Calls with blocked audio - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My Desire has always been very bad handling calls:
Recently tried AOKP VJ 4.2.2 and Mildwild 5 (2.3.7) and it got worse!
Now When I make a call, the other person doesn't hear me! (When the other person makes the call, it works ok)!
Previous to AOKP and Mildwild I had the radio updated to the lastest (that is not very new...) 5.17.05.23 [older than 29th May 2011]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464
Does this radio thing doesn't matter with this ROMs?
Why doesn't this radio version appear on "About"@Definitions on AOKP and Mildwild as before (official ROM)?
Is this 5.17.05.23 not stable? Which one do you have?
Do anyone has or had this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Your issue may have nothing to do with your radio or ROM.....
Could it not simply be that you have a microphone issue??
Can you try a sound recording app or similar, see if it records properly?

Hi, it is a software/firmware issue as calls go ok if someone calls me in!
It only fails when I call someone (And didn't occurred before these ROMs).

Ah missed that bit sorry!
The latest radio firmware is recommended, shouldn't make a difference to microphone issues though.
If you unroot and go back to stock, does the issue go away?

Delay in phone mic activating when answering phone call

Hi Everyone,
Im having a unusual problem. Im finding that if people ring my htc Desire when i answer the mic doesnt seem to activate straight away (2-5sec delay) Ive done a quick google and some people suggest that its the radio needs to be updated.
Im currently using:
HTC Desire
Oxygen 2.0 RC7
Radio: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Im not sure if i should update this radio and if so where? Also what is the radio version and why do i have to update it when i change/update my rom?

It's a problem in all AOSP Gingerbread ROMs at the moment, as far as I know. At least both Oxygen and Cyan 7 nightlies have the problem
I've noticed thin in Oxygen 2.0 RC6 and it bug the hell out of me!
Don't recall having it with stock Rom.....
Write about this bug in the Oxygen bug tracker so it'll get more attention -

I have the same problem.
Oxygen RC7, stock radio.
I've tried to change the radio, but didn't found any low-risk, user friendly method.

[Q] Call Volume Problem questions

Hi,
I've recently updated the ROM on my phone to LeeDroid 3.0.7 and the radio to the latest 5.17.05.23.
The call volume is unusably low. Is the call volume related to the ROM or the radio?
What can I do to fix this?
BTW: Excellent work by LeeDroid on the ROM other than this!
(I'd also rather post this in HTC Desire android development but it seems I can't until I've nattered around here for 10 posts, any chance a mod could move it? :-D)
Thanks

[Q] Where to find TELUS DHD Stock rom ?

Anyone knows where I can find TELUS DHD stock rom, with TELUS stock radio ? I search for it with no success.
I've got weird issue with audio and I would like to rollback the rooted rom to 100% stock (to see if this would solve the problem). I would love to keep the custom rom because it's 2x better than stock.
Thanks guys
edit : Sound issue is solve now ! I would love to download the TELUS stock rom (just in case) but its no longer an emergency

I always had audio on my DHD but after I've rooted and installed my first rom (android revolution), the audio was high-pitched with distortion (music, or in call audio, internal speaker or external).
I've install the Audio fix for ARHD rom (Inspire 4g and TELUS DHD) and the audio is back to normal !

[Q] Wildfire Calling Problem

Hi all,
I know this is my first post but the only reason I felt the need to do it is because I have run out of options to fix my Wildfire. I have scoured many forums to find a solution from the CyanogenMod forums through android to xda forums to no avail.
I am currently running the newly released CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1 and I'm experiencing the same problem that I had since upgrading to the 7.1 RC1. Basically the phone works normally after flashing a ROM but after a few weeks of usage I attempt to call someone and there is no sound on either side of the call. If I then leave the call and try to play any music it does not work and neither do the basic android sounds. Basically no sound at all. Now I have tried rebooting (I get back the sounds but as soon as I want to call someone the same thing occurs), pulling the battery and all the usual processes. I read somewhere that flashing the ROM again fixes it and that is true but the same thing occurs after a few weeks of usage, rendering my phone useless. Even flashing earlier backups does not work. So I am wondering if anyone has experienced something like this or if anyone could have an answer and solution to my problem.
Here is a detailed list of what I am currently running:
ROM: CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1
Radio: 3.35.20.10
Hboot: 6.01.1002
S-OFF
Customisations: V6 SuperCharger Update 9 Beta 6.3, 3G TurboCharger Installer Update 3 test 11, Kick Ass Kernelizer Installer Update 3 test5.
Thanks for any help.
Edit: I forgot to mention I also have the Custom MTD Partitions for the Wildfire.
Could be hardware related, have you tried stock?

Complete new system - which combination?

Hey Guys,
my GF is using my old HTC Desire (GSM) and there are some problems.
Biggest problem is during phone calls. There are short pauses with no sound during a call, sometimes just 1 sec, sometimes longer. The call isn't cancelled, but there is just no sound for few moments.
The Desire is rooted and currently a (Soul) MIUI Rom with the latest Radio 5.17.05.23 is running on it. My SD Card ist partioned to use A2SD+, so i search a ROM where i can use that.
I never changed the kernel directly, perhaps it was changed/updated via a CustumRom, don't know at this moment.
So my question to you: Do you know this kind of problem? Is there a coherence between my calling problem and the rom or radio oder even the kernel?
And what combination of Rom/Radio/Kernel do you suggest for me? Some Radios don't fit to some Roms i think, or?
It must be a Rom with a2sd+ working.
I'm very thankful for every hint or advice
Greets, Jon
I'm using RSK SE rom at the moment. It uses aroma installer so gives you menu options when installing. Make sure a2sd and call delay patch are selected. I'm using the latest radio and it works great but may well work fine with another version of radio also. Very stable rom (sense 3.5).
You will need to partition your sd card first or a2sd won't work.
The kernel that comes with this rom is fine. No need to change IMO.
