Hi Everyone,
Im having a unusual problem. Im finding that if people ring my htc Desire when i answer the mic doesnt seem to activate straight away (2-5sec delay) Ive done a quick google and some people suggest that its the radio needs to be updated.
Im currently using:
HTC Desire
Oxygen 2.0 RC7
Radio: 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Im not sure if i should update this radio and if so where? Also what is the radio version and why do i have to update it when i change/update my rom?

It's a problem in all AOSP Gingerbread ROMs at the moment, as far as I know. At least both Oxygen and Cyan 7 nightlies have the problem
I've noticed thin in Oxygen 2.0 RC6 and it bug the hell out of me!
Don't recall having it with stock Rom.....
Write about this bug in the Oxygen bug tracker so it'll get more attention -
http://code.google.com/p/oxygen-rom/issues/list
I have the same problem.
Oxygen RC7, stock radio.
I've tried to change the radio, but didn't found any low-risk, user friendly method.

Hi There,
I have been using DeFrost and OpenDesire for the last few months, and have therefore not been able to use the FM radio.
It worked when i tried it initially with the stock Sense rom, but nowdays (MIUI, SenseHD and Sense) all i get is static, no matter where i am (outside in good weather etc). My friend with a Nexus One can pick up the stations at the exact same location.
I have tried all the radios back untill 5.09.00.08 (currently using 5.11.05.14), but no difference.
Any ideas?
Josh.
Go back to Stock using a Shipped RUU. If it's still fubar then send it off for a warranty repair.
Make sure your HBOOT is restored if you've flashed the S-Off HBOOT but i think the stock RUU should write the stock HBOOT back on the device for you.
It's not FUBAR, just the FM radio seems to give static. I have no other issues with it whatsoever.
What does an RUU contain that 'might' fix this issue?
Josh.
Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.

Going back to a Stock ROM will ensure that your software is 100% compatible with the hardware. It's naturally the first thing you should do if you start having problems with your device. If you're using a cooked ROM, there's an increased chance that the problem you are experiencing is related to software rather than hardware. In your case, more so since the Desire 2.2 kernel was only recently open sourced, so the FM radio drivers have only recently been included in 2.2 cooked roms.
Hey Josh,
I'm running LeeDrOiD 2.4.1 and have the identical issue with my FM radio. Did you solve it? If so, how?
Thanks,
Keith

Hello.
I have the same issue with Gingerbread as with Froyo. When I use my Desire with Parrot CK3200LS-COLOR, nobody hears me when I'm talking to Parrots microphone. I hoped that things will change in last Gingerbread ROM's, but was dissappointed.
May be somebody knows what is the reason of this problem?
Have I to forget about using my Desire with Parrot?
Recently I tried Samsung Wave with Bada 1.0 OS and it worked great without any issue with Parrot.
Why Bada works, but Android doesn't? Is it bug left by Android creators and developers, or is it Parrot's problem?
Please help me to find final answer to my questions.
Which gingerbread rom are you using?
some still have the mic volume set to 0 meaning you can hear people but they cannot hear you.
When you tried with Froyo was it a stock rom or had you rooted?
do you know anyone else with a non rooted Android phone? Try theirs and see what hapens
thats wierd.
i'd check the settings as mentioned above.
i have a Parrot car kit - the CK3100 i think and this works fine.
oh, and I'm using Adam's Oxygen 2 RC4 rom

I tried Adam's Oxygen 2 RC4. Do you mean mic volume setting in Desire or in Parrot?
My Froyo ROM is Leedroid 2.3b, but same problems were with Parrot on all rooted ROM's Eclair and Froyo I've tried. To tell truth I haven't tried Parrot with stock ROM.
Is it possible that problem is caused by radio (mine is 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2)?
Happy New Year !!!
Today I tested HTC Desire Z with my Parrot. No problems at all.
Here are all firmware data of that phone:
baseband version 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
kernel version 2.6.32.21-gd2764ed
[email protected]#1
build number 1.34.405.5 CL273326
software version 1.34.405.5
Android version 2.2
And here is my HTC Desire (problematic working with Parrot) firmware data:
baseband version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
kernel version 2.6.32.15-leedroid_2.3
[email protected]#1
build number 2.29.405.2 CL226611
software version LeeDrOiD V2.3b
Android version 2.2
Could somebody explain me where my HTC Desire problem is digged?
Thank you.
Have a look at the oxygen2 RC5 thread in development, the most recent.
There's a post in there from not more than a few hours ago that may help.

Since i can't ask a question in developer forums i will ask it in here..
Im using mike's ARHD 4.0 beta 4 for weeks now and it always worked perfect!
But since the last week or 2 weeks i'm having some issues...
like:
GPS can't find satallites or it takes a long time to finally find one.
When i open the market then it doesn't fully load the market and i get an error message like network connectivity failure.
it connects with 3g instead of H
I don't know what to do!, Full Whipe and reinstalling the rom didn't help...
could it be the Radio? im living in the Netherlands ( Holland ) and i use this radio:
26.03.02.26_M
don't seem to have these problems when i use 3.6 :S:S:S:S
But i want GINGERBREAD!!!!

Are you using the correct RIL for that radio rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040986)
You could try RCMix HD 5.9.7, it has 2.3.3 and sense 2.1, or CoreDroid HD GB v5.4, both of them are really good gingerbread roms.
Hi guys, please can you let me know what radio, RIL & Kernel you are using. I can install the rom without problem but i cannot speak to or hear any callers when using the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope that helps.

Hi all,
I know this is my first post but the only reason I felt the need to do it is because I have run out of options to fix my Wildfire. I have scoured many forums to find a solution from the CyanogenMod forums through android to xda forums to no avail.
I am currently running the newly released CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1 and I'm experiencing the same problem that I had since upgrading to the 7.1 RC1. Basically the phone works normally after flashing a ROM but after a few weeks of usage I attempt to call someone and there is no sound on either side of the call. If I then leave the call and try to play any music it does not work and neither do the basic android sounds. Basically no sound at all. Now I have tried rebooting (I get back the sounds but as soon as I want to call someone the same thing occurs), pulling the battery and all the usual processes. I read somewhere that flashing the ROM again fixes it and that is true but the same thing occurs after a few weeks of usage, rendering my phone useless. Even flashing earlier backups does not work. So I am wondering if anyone has experienced something like this or if anyone could have an answer and solution to my problem.
Here is a detailed list of what I am currently running:
ROM: CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1
Radio: 3.35.20.10
Hboot: 6.01.1002
S-OFF
Customisations: V6 SuperCharger Update 9 Beta 6.3, 3G TurboCharger Installer Update 3 test 11, Kick Ass Kernelizer Installer Update 3 test5.
Thanks for any help.
Edit: I forgot to mention I also have the Custom MTD Partitions for the Wildfire.
Could be hardware related, have you tried stock?
