I am trying to sell my S3. I only used this phone on Telus, never used it before on an AWS network carrier.
I unlocked it using that *#197328640# trick on 4.1.1 and it works perfectly on Telus, Rogers, Bell, etc.
Since this model is SGH-T999V will it work on WIND or Mobilocity because when I search for available network operators with my Telus sim card in the phone it only finds VIRGIN,EXT and TELUS.
And the available network modes are only GSM and WCDMA only. There is no AWS option.
DO I need a Wind sim card to get AWS to show up? Just want to make sure before I sell this phone that it will work with wind or mobilocity
You will need Wind Simcard to make sure. But I do believe it will work that way. When you set the Wind APN with a Wind Sim card, hopefully AWS will show.

So yeah, where I live should not be roaming on Bell's network.
I unlocked a Tilt 2, I am using a Bell sim. I have been able to send/receive texts, voice etc.
However, every time I try to make a data connection it says I am roaming.
I am relatively new to smartphones and unlocking. Could it be that I did not properly unlock the phone (or if I didnt would that prevent me from using Bell's network period?) or is there something stupid I am doing?
Or do I just have to call Bell and get them to straighten their crap out?
I have the same problem Here. Tilt 2 on Bell Network. As I can understand from my search, this is due to the Radio Rom that does not have Bell SIM info as local provider. We probably need to MOD our RADIO to accept bell as local carier
maybe people can help us ?
Thank you
Ok, I've just try with a friend ROGERS SIM card and the phone doesn't roam. Yeah! mabe I found some Q for master people that can help me.
I was on Rogers 3G network without probleme and I found that rogers use same band then Bell 850/1900
so why my phone lookup for rogers and not bell ?
So i have a Rogers i747M unlocked and im using it on AT&T. I know the LTE bands are the same but I can't get the LTE to work on it. Is it even possible ? I can't change the "APN Type" on the i747M like the AT&T version can. Do i need a real AT&T micro sim ? Do i need to flash the modem (already know that it might kill the imei if i flash a AT&T modem onto it) ? Do i need a real Smartphone data plan ?
If anyone has got the i747M LTE working on AT&T please post your setup, apn settings, sim card, and any other things you did to get LTE working.
Thanks!

All you should have to do is ADD the AT&T APN and YES you'll need the LTE plan, no more flying under the radar with $10 per month data

i cant add the exact apn settings, the "apn type" field is only a 3 button choice on the i747M, whereas the i747 (AT&T version) has a text box the for "APN Type" that you can type anything in.
ive also tried another AT&T micro sim from another active i747 in my canadian S3, and still no LTE ....
i didnt dare try my cut dumbphone sim in that S3 though lol....
update SIM

Hi! I had a similar problem, I kept getting HSPA+ only and then I realised my SIM wasn't LTE "ready". I went to a Virgin mobile store (or ATT in your case) and asked for an LTE capable SIM. 5$ later I had 22mbps download and 13mbps Upload speeds
Hi there, I have the Bell Galaxy S3 I747M and I want to use it for Wind or Mobility City and I'm just wondering what do I have to flash in order for it to work? Thanks a lot.

Normally you would just need to have your phone unlocked so that other carrier's SIM cards will work. BUT your phone isn't fully compatible. If you get any service it would likely be via Roaming agreements they have.
Most Canadian carriers are running HSPA+ service on 850/1900. Your phones radio supports 850/1900/2100 tri-band.
Wind, Mobilicity, and Videotron to my knowledge use the same odd 'AWS' setup that T-Mobile uses: 1700/2100. Those devices (T999[V]) drop LTE support, they have quadband HSPA+/UMTS radios.
So in a nut shell: an unlocked Bell Galaxy S3 may work on Roger's, Telus, or Virgin Mobile (Canada) but not on Wind, Mobilicity, or Videotron. But an unlocked Wind, Mobilicity, Videotron, or T-Mobile Galaxy S3 will likely work on all of those -- but not get LTE.
If you flash e.g. a Wind modem, you may end up with a brick, or it may work. I don't think it'll work but search the forum first if you dare.
it won't work, it doesnt have the 1700 frequency
Lost my previous i9250m unsure of full model #
So I bought a mint/used i9250m off Kijiji, believing that all Samsung Galaxy Nexus' were factory unlocked and thus be able to work on any network. My previous i9250m I transferred from Wind to Mobilicity without any unlocking and through a simple internet search believed all the Galaxy Nexus specific to Canada were unlocked.
Phone is
i9250TSRRWC
Android Version 4.2.1
Baseband version I9250UGLL1
Kernel version 3.0.31-gd5a18e0 [email protected] #1 Frid Nov 2 11:02:59 PDT 2012
Build Number JOP40D.I9250UGMA2
When I enter *#*#4636#*#* and go to WCDMA Only
Followed by Settings - Mobile Networks - Network Operators - Search Networks the following are available to me.
CDN Roaming, Telus, 302610 and 302490 in that order
What I am failing to see is Mobilicity or 302320
I thought it was because the i9250TSRRWC was a Roger's/Fido model and as such they have the LTE network. Also when I go into the info(*#*#4636#*#*) and click on phone settings - preferred network type - there are LTE options.
But then it clicks in.. well this should not be the answer as Wind Mobile runs on the same frequencies as Mobilicity 1700/2100 as is showing up in the networks under Network Operators under 302490. Is 302490(WIND) showing up because of the 2100 downlink frequency?
Not wanting to be troubled with the phone right away and upset I had lost a phone.. I purchased another i9250TSDTLS, checking at time of purchase and no longer assuming it would just work with my Mobilicity Sim Card. Success. I have also put in a Roger's and ChatR sim card into the phone so am confident the 2nd one, my daily user, is unlocked.
I listed the i9250TSRRWC on kijiji to resell it... stating it did not work with Mobilicity and Wind as this was my new beliefs. Someone came to view it with a Bell Sim Card... Sim Card works and was operable in his HTC... put it in the i9250TSRRWC and no luck. Did not see the Bell network nor did 302610 show up in the list of available networks.
So with all the info given... my question is... Is this phone, the i9250TSRRWC compatible with Mobilicity / Wind / Bell?
Is the phone software locked through Rogers? reason for not working with the Bell sim? What option's do I have.
From what I understand radio's are software based now.. opposed to hardware. I do not have any previous android skills.. but if instructions are detailed enough I can follow them. I was able to jailbreak unlock my previous iPhone 3gs and iPhone4.
I am interested in this phone for use on T-Mobile US. Is there any way to unlock the rest of the TMUS bands along with the Sprint bands?
Thanks.
I'm not sure what your question is but I am currently on MetroPCS under TMobiles network. I also run dual SIM perfectly fine.
