Tilt 2 (AT&T) on Bell (Roaming) - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

So yeah, where I live should not be roaming on Bell's network.
I unlocked a Tilt 2, I am using a Bell sim. I have been able to send/receive texts, voice etc.
However, every time I try to make a data connection it says I am roaming.
I am relatively new to smartphones and unlocking. Could it be that I did not properly unlock the phone (or if I didnt would that prevent me from using Bell's network period?) or is there something stupid I am doing?
Or do I just have to call Bell and get them to straighten their crap out?

I have the same problem Here. Tilt 2 on Bell Network. As I can understand from my search, this is due to the Radio Rom that does not have Bell SIM info as local provider. We probably need to MOD our RADIO to accept bell as local carier
maybe people can help us ?
Thank you

Ok, I've just try with a friend ROGERS SIM card and the phone doesn't roam. Yeah! mabe I found some Q for master people that can help me.
I was on Rogers 3G network without probleme and I found that rogers use same band then Bell 850/1900
so why my phone lookup for rogers and not bell ?

Help with Sprint TP2 on Rogers, no data

I have a Sprint Touch Pro 2 with a T-Mobile SIM card inserted. I'm in Canada and can roam on Rogers with no problem. Voice works great, but I cannot connect to data at all, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, etc. I know T-Mobile can data roam on Rogers because I also have a T-Mobile Blackberry Curve 8900 which has data working just fine here. Does anyone know how I can get this working, if a network connection needs to me manually configured? I wasn't sure if this should be in this forum or the CDMA Rhodium forum, but I'm using a T-Mobile account and I'm trying to roam on Rogers so I thought this would be OK. I searched other threads about the TP2 on Rogers but didn't see anything about using an American GSM SIM and data roaming, so I hope this isn't a repeat. Thanks!
You'll only get EDGE... think Robbers runs on 850/1900 and the Sprint only does 2100 UMTS.
EDGE is fine, I'm OK with not getting UMTS. I figured it out, I was going about it all wrong. I entered T-Mobile's data settings and it worked. Since I'm using a T-Mobile SIM I needed to use T-Mobile data settings and not Rogers. Once I tried that it connected with no problem.

Unlocked Issues

I have an HTC TouchPro 2 that I bought from T-Mobile here in the US. While I now have an account with T-Mobile, I was able to get this with no contractual committment. I also happen to have an AT&T Fuze with an account at AT&T. Originally, I wanted to move my cell service to T-Mobile, as I can get the same service for about $30-$40 less per month from T-Mobile than I pay AT&T. However, I have discovered that T-Mobile does not have nearly the data network speed that AT&T does. I can get 3G from T-Mobile, but not nearly as widely as I can with my AT&T phone and service. Consequently, I would like to convert the phone to AT&T. I have unlocked the phone, and upon moving the SIM card from the Fuze to the TP2 I can make AT&T calls with my AT&T number, but moving the SIM card doesn't get me connected to the AT&T data network. I finally figured out how to connect, but I can't get 3G to work.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
AT&T and T-Mobile use different 3G frequencies. So your T-Mobile TP2 is not compatible with AT&T 3g frequencies. The best you will get with your AT&T sim in there is EDGE.
Same problem in Oz...
Telstra uses Next-g network - 850Mhz...
Everyone else uses 3G - 900Mhz...
We have the Touchpro 2 Model 7373 (3G) and the 7381 (Next-G)...
Telstra sim in a 7373 variant means edge service but another carrier uses 3G.
Vice Versa in a 7381 model...
Bloody annoying... Should use ALL frequencies, that would be easier, especially as it say 850 - 1800 Mhz on the band page...
Oh, well....
Not exactly what I had hoped to hear. Thanks for the answer. I guess my next step should be to see if there is any hope for T-Mobile to improve their data coverage.

[Q] do I need to flash my radio to use TP2 abroad?

Hi there,
I'm totally confused as to what I need to do to get my Touch Pro 2 (currently activated on Boost CDMA) to work abroad, specifically Canada.
It is flashed with Energy ROM, Reference version.
Do I need to do a Radio flash? Do I need to tweak some settings? Both? Neither?
I'm going to be in Canada for 3 weeks and plan to use either Rogers or Fido's GSM Pay as You Go (already have the SIM cards), or Telus's CDMA Pay as You Go.
I've read the FAQs and generally understand that this is possible -- just not clear the route.
Thanks,
Simmy
The biggest problem with Canada is our carriers don't want people coming in and using their networks without paying for it, and that usually means your first born here.
The hardware problem is, the TP2 will not work on the frequencies in Canada that Telus has used for the HSPA / 4G network. And using the current CDMA network is not possible either because Telus and Bell will not allow you to put branded phones from other companies on the old network and CDMA systems don't use SIM cards. So if your planning on bringing the TP2 up here I think you may be out of luck.
I took the TP2 to Ireland and was able to use the frequencies there on the O2 network, but to do that I had to unlock the phone and as i have the "world edition" with the SIM card slot once unlocked it worked over there no issue, and returned working over here with no SIM card in it. But again this is a frequency issue and telus tells us it won't work.
Now if when you get here, and you plug a sim card in and it does work, please share, because it means we can manually add frequencies and hook to both the old and new network. And some of us with the original unlimited data contracts (no 10 gig cap) would be really happy to know this.
As for Rogers, i can't tell you. I don't know if they have ever had the TP2 and have no clue what frequency they are using for their phones, though i'm sure it's similar.
Flashing the radio does nothing to add radios or affect your ability to connect to the network while abroad. Its usually just done to improve reception and/or battery life.
You will need your phone SIM unlocked. Then, as the post above suggests, either putting in the SIM works, or it doesn't.
Thanks to both of you for your reply.
So the TP2 won't work on any Canadian CDMA networks, but since it also has GSM, if I stick a Rogers or Fido SIM card in it, it *may* work. In fact, I believe it *should* work. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
And thanks for answering my question re: radio ROMs, Redpoint -- that's what I thought, but was still confused about.
So, with respect to unlocking, is the Olipro page that charges 11 pounds / 14 euros / $20 my best/cheapest option? (unfortunately, i can't link to it here because I'm a new member)
Thank muchly,
Simmy
The device should have no trouble connecting to a normal GSM network in Canada. The Canadian GSM networks use the GSM-1900 and GSM-850 bands. The CDMA Rhodiums use a quad band frequency that spans all of 850/900/1800/1900 MHz channels. You should have no problems in Canada. Enjoy your trip.
You do not need to flash a new radio to have it work in Canada.

[Q] Videotron - Rogers roaming issue

Hi,
After searching hours online for a solution, I decided to ask you for help.
I have a SGS3 T999V with cyanogenmod 10.1 on videotron, locked.
Videotron and Rogers are roaming partners.
When out of Videotron's range, my phone is supposed to go on Rogers partenaire network. It wouldn't do it by itself recently and I had to manually select the network and change it. After I did, I was online on Rogers with EDGE data connection. Back to Videotron coverage zone, I was still in roaming, searched for networks again and couldn't find Videotron network nor Wind (nor any other AWS band network)... all I could see was Rogers Wireless (X2) and Telus and Bell. On one of the Rogers networks on the list I had EDGE data and the other HSPA+ data.
I don't know it Videotron and Rogers roaming agreement supports V customers using HSPA+ on R, but it seems the phone is able to do it.
I decided to flash Videotron stock firmware back and was still stuck in roaming until I applied the VLDLL1 update. Then only could I see AWS network again, but had the problem again going on Rogers from stock ROM.
I downloaded data and made calls on both Rogers networks (EDGE and HSPA+) and didn't get billed for them.
Kinda lost here...
If anyone had an idea or experienced the same issue......
Thanks!!
I'm having the same issue, I've been looking for an answer for an hour now, but nothing's there. I'm trying to use my old Rogers phone on the Videotron network, and flashed a new rom in place. (It was sim unlocked in the past)
I'm trying to figure out how to switch it over to Videotron, cause I can't get data.

LG G710EAW on T-Mobile. Crossflash?

Hello all!
I have an LG G7 from India, model G710EAW. I moved to the US from Canada and the phone isn't entertaining T-Mobile or ATT SIM cards. When I insert them, service works for a little bit and then immediately switches to "Emergency calls only". T-Mobile's website says my phone IMEI is compatible with its service.
The strange thing is that the phone has two SIMs from Canada roaming - one on the T-Mobile network and another on ATT. No issues whatsoever. And when I check the bands in Engineering Mode, I can see one roaming SIM running on LTE Band-4 on T-Mobile. The other roaming SIM is switching between LTE Band-2 and LTE Band-5 on ATT.
T-Mobile uses bands 2,4,5 mainly, and ATT uses 2,4,5 among other bands. This leads me to believe it's some kind of a network restriction preventing my phone from latching onto these networks directly.
I've made tons of calls to T-Mobile and ATT so I'm no longer interested in pursuing them with this.
I'm wondering if cross-flashing a different firmware might help fix this issue. I remember reading on this subreddit that the Google FI firmware may work for T-Mobile bands. I'm not sure I understood that correctly.
Can someone confirm if that's possible? Does this make sense? I'm hesitant to buy a new replacement phone when my G7 works so well.
Thanks!
