CPU Temperature goes 80C - LG Optimus G (International)

Hey guyz,
I always feel that my optimus g is somehow over heated. But in many forums, people says smartphone can get as hot as hell. Today I ran a stability test on my phone and I noticed my cpu temperature reaches 80C and batery reaches 60C and I got worried. Please tell me am I running too hot? 80C does not seems to be ok for me. Even when my phone is idle cpu temperature is 40-50C. I don't have warranty remaining. Please tell me what to do?

Any reply will be appreciated

Which rom are u on + kernel ?
Give cyanogenmod a try (don't install anything over it in recovery except gapps, run your tests and reply).
My F180L doesn't overheat under normal calling / texting but does noticeably when I am playing games. Runs cool and silky smooth even when I am browsing over wifi or using Whatsapp/Viber/Skype.

Thanks for the reply. I am on stock rom and stock kernel. Bootloader unlocked using freegee (I guess i am on Nexus 4 bootloader now). I know temperature can be increased when gaming. But is it normal to get 80C?? I am actually waiting for a stable release for CM11 as its still in nightly. Can you plese let me know what is the temperature of your cpu when gaming?

IF i gaming in GTA SA and charging (with oc GPU 487 and 1.8Ghz ) my temperature is 75-85°C

Seriously? Thats too damn hot I think. Well I am not the only one with ovr heat I think. Can please tell me how long your batter lasts when you are gaming??

If I gaming and charging I lost 1% to 15-25min. If I not charging and playing 100%-0% my phone eat full battery in 3-5 hour

Gaming eats major performance. Phone is benchmarked on video play for 5hours. 3-5 hours on purely gaming is pretty much expected, every phone is supposed to behave that way, including a Galaxy S4 which is slightly about 6 hours.
Regarding overheating and stuff, I'd recommend you shift to a custom rom so alot of bloatware which eats background CPU power gets removed and you get neat android experience. This phone is alot cooler than my Atrix 4G / LG Nitro HD or even my good chinese craplet Ainol Novo 7 Elf II .
I kept stock rom for barely 3 hours on mine Optimus 4G (which I spent waiting on downloads to convert my phone to e975 from F180 and installing custom recovery / rom blabla)

lol thats too much extra juice you are spilling for a lesser resource hungry game as GTA SA. You will do fine on a stock 3.4 kernel. There is a reason why manufacturer clocks and sets up hardware.

CM10.2 gave me keyboard lockups, I switched to CM11 and I got to say, even nightlies are rock solid and can be used as daily driver. Phone runs alot cool (Y)
When you are upgrading CM11 nightlies all you have to do is clear cache before updating.

Xperia Play turns off unexpectedely.

Hello. My Xperia Play was given to my girlfriend who fell in love with this phone more than I did, literally!
But she started to experience some problems with this device, problems that had never happened to me. Whenever she plays Vice City or any other "huge" and "ram eating" game (Vice City more often), after playing an hour or even less the phone suddenly freezes and self-reboots (a kind of hot reboot, because the "Xperia" logo shows instantly). It's very strange, because she uses the same software configuration that I was using: NXT ROM v1.3 and Lupus kernel v4, no OC, no UV. But! I've bought her a 1800mAh battery by Mugen Power which she is using for 2 months (because on stock battery the phone lasted for 5/6 hours even when it was in deep sleep).
Can you help me? I tried almost everything - changing kernels (domkernel v13 with no GPU OC, and then lupus v4), changing ROM (stock and then NXT)... I haven't tried supercharger. Maybe it's the battery's fault?

Try replacing the flex cable.
I think its just lack of ram android likes to reboot when its ram gets low it does this to free it up

I already did that. Also I replaced LCD because it was cracked.

This is why I say Free RAM is not wasted RAM.
RAM gets full when play those games and the phone reboots.
Plus NXT and NXT Lite ROMs are not the best for gaming.
Flash DiXperia 2 Everlasting ROM and close running services then run the game.

My Fix For HOX Tegra Heat Problem

Hi I don't know if you guys read my last thread about me being really wanting to extend battery life and reduce heat on my HOX. What I did was simply using Blade Rom + used only 2 cores instead of 4. Performance wasn't really affected (except for gaming) and I was really happy.
But now I really wanted to try something new and was tired of the Sense interface. I ended up flashing tons on mods and bricking my phone. So I had to wipe it fully and reflash. I installed Blade ROM v4.6. Two days later I saw that it had a de-sensing script which sounded nice to me since I was tired of sense. To my amazement (though i don't have exact temperature values), the device is now running much cooler and it feels much nicer in my hands. Still a little warm but much less than on stock or custom(with sense).
I believe Sense to be causing a big percentage of that heat ... well at least this can be derived from my observations. Im not really sure if this has been posted before but I saw a lot of threads dealing with this problem and I hope this helps someone.
P.S When I de-sensed i think its now using Nova Launcher

Theres something wrong with your HoX , my hox never gets *warm* or *hot* on regular use even with all 4 cores on, when playing demanding 3d games (nfs for sintence) it reaches around 35-40C max, while playing it being on charger then it gets *warm* or a little bit *hot* HoX shouldn't be getting *hot* if you're using it normally lol, only while playing 3d games on charger. At least that's how it is for me.
what heat problem??? heat is now ancient history ever since the JB OTA
your HOX or your custom ROM has a problem
Exactly. Now even when playing taxing games like GTA 3, GTA Vice City, NFSMW, the phone stays cool. I remember on ICS< the thing heated till 50 degrees + and shut off by itself ...Thank the lord for the JB update :victory:

My phone gets overheated when playing games on charge. I'm on stock JB Rom. When I was on stock ICS Rom the phone didn't get overheated regularly, but when I updated to JB it gets overheated so fast.

You shouldn't be even playing intesive 3d games while on charge , that kind of stuff are killing your battery , not straight away but over the time, anyway once someone said about this *gaming while charging is same as $hitting while eating* =) , anyway it can also depend on your rom/kernel. I used to play games while on chrager due to addictivity of games tho never got really overheating issues, few times since i have it.

I think the problem its the kernel i have official rom jb and my hox overheatind too lm play games not while charging.

ViperX 3.3.2 stock kernel, didn't test it for gaming long period , but gaming seems to be smoother then back in ICS days for the time i tested ( up to 10 mins each game) , didn't overheat or anything durring this 30 min test period for me, tho it's expected if you play for example NFS MF for over a hour or so to get little bit warm, but shouldn't go over 35-40C off the charger, anyway you gotta remember heeting on hox can happen as well if you're in warm room , tested that lol, played NFS in warm room at my house , actually very warm room around 30C and in another room with maybe 10C in the room, phone was much cooler then in the previous room , as for playing it on the charge it got overheated in around 20 mins of playtime in the 30C room and in the 10C room stayed little bit warmer but not overheating. So conclusion = one part of overheating depends on the room temperature lol. which means hox should be literally unplayable with charger when the summer time comes =P (btw this heat test was done back in ICS days not JB , anyway JB seams to be much better for this matter )
- Edit - this was meant for this

Xperia ZL overheat issue

I just bought my Xperia ZL a month ago and upgraded to JB 4.2.2 (FW 10.3.1.A.2.67) but I have an overheating issue with the battery now. It goes to 47 degree C in 5 minute for a light usage like browsing with Google Chrome. Is it true that FW 2.67 is causing an overheat? Cause several forums says so. will downgrading to JB 4.1.2 can fix this issue? Thanks

I have no problems anymore since I installed FW 10.3.1.A.2.67.
In May I did have heating problems, when the phone was on the lock screen and did not have any internet connection (Wifi, Edge, 3G
or 4G) on holiday.
Maybe you need to reset your phone and ré-insatll everything. I think you have a process that's eats all cpu and so your battery

I have overheating problems. Having that already a long time. Have tried almost every solution there is online:
* Snapdragon battery GURU
* Factory Reset
* Rooting
* BL unlocking, locking
* Switching Battery Adapter (Charger, from weaker to original Xperia ZL).
* Switching to 4.3 Android
* build 244.
* build 67.
* Will Try possibly Warranty in USA.

So which one is the best solution?
For me, there is no solution.
Just tried again switching to .244 and SEUS repair, no use, nothing helped.
It gets some kind of loop. When it gets overheated and thats fast, simply watch some video in youtube or just sit in CHROME, suprisingly that i played Candy Crush and it survived, only 1 or 2 times he restarted bootloop.
I guess the warranty is the only option.
I'll check back if something new comes up.
So... I know with the 6506 I just bought, I experience pretty good heat if I create a nandroid... Not sure what to think with that as other phones haven't done that...
Is that normal (do others experience a significant heat rise when they do a nandroid?)

My phone can get pretty warm during nandroid. That's why I like TWRP, it'll go automatically shut off the screen after a while, which reduces battery drain and heat.

[Q] Some questions about xperia zl

Hi everyone, Im going to buy this smartphone so I have some questions :
1/ Is the battery life better than optimus g ? ( My old optimus g can last full a day with 4,5 hours onscreen time ( surfing webs, email, facebook,...))
2/ The temperature when gaming ? ( for example, alphast 8)
Thanks
The battery life is not great. 3.5 hours onscreen time in 18 or 20 hrs max. In games works very good and the temperature is a little warm but that's in every demanding game
Enviado desde mi C6502 mediante Tapatalk
How about CM 10.1 on this device ? Does battery life better than its stock rom ?
I can't tell you anything about cm10.1 because I have blocked the bootloader from factory. If you want cm10.1 make sure to buy a model with the bootloader allow to unlock.
Enviado desde mi C6502 mediante Tapatalk
So is there anyone here using ( or used) CM 10.1 on xperia ZL ? I want to know more about battery life on this custom rom
Using Cm11 you'll get around 3 and a half hours of battery, but you'll actually get better on stock based roms from my experience. I had to revert back to the stock rom so I can give it to the service center... so this is the only screenshot I have right now and its what i normally get...
And how about the stand by time when stamina mode is on ? Did you play games or use 3g/4g ?

I didn't use stamina mode much cause it cut off data but i did play plenty games (like asphalt 8, riptide 2 etc)... needless to say they did drain quite a bit of the battery. But its the same on any android device. I never felt the need to carry a portable charger and always had enough juice to reach home at night and still use it for a couple of hours... and I'm on 3g...
And how much time zl last with alphast 8 ? If you just surf webs and email, does the battery life better ? Thanks
In about half an hour asphalt takes 10-14 % of the battery.... and web surfing takes about the same in an hour.... this is of course just off the top of my head... as i can't measure and tell you right now cause i don't have the phone with me.... But u have to realize the battery life depends from user to user and from region to region... I can give u hundreds of answers but still it might not match many others' experiences! It just varies...

H815 - battery life? :D

Hey guys! I wanted to ask you how much SOT can you get on your LG G4 with stock Marshmallow(mine is v20g-EUR-XXX). I'm getting barely 4hrs of SOT, how much are you getting? Plus I've heard we can disable something in service menu(some logging?), does it really improve battery life(especially in standby?) If so please share this method here, I'll be very thankful
PS. My phone is not rooted
This is typical for the g4. I get around 4 and a half, using greenify.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
mine is constantly degrading, first month or so I managed to get 5 to 5.5 hours SOT easily and now I can barely get to 4 hours and its still getting worse.
2 hours on V20a, it's **** >.<
After a bunch of small optimizations, I'm hitting 5+ hours sot. Bet I could hit more if id quit that damned Pokémon.

Anyone else encountering problems with the Google Play Services? They use up to 25% of my battery. I've read several threads about how to reduce this (modifying location settings etc...), but it didn't work out for me yet. I also stepped over the "GServiceFix"-App, which I didn't want to give a try because several users reported, that the app bricked their device.
How did you set up your G4 to reach ~4,5hrs of SOT?
*edit* I'm on V20g-EUR-XX (H815)

yes with locked bootloader you can have root and install xposed. only in lollipop. if you are on marhs mallow you cant. you also need to know your antiroll back before you downgrade in case you are on marshmallow.. nothing a KDZ using LGUP refurbished can fix if you need warranty just flash KDZ and itll remove root.. in case of bootloop just use freezer method ..
no twrp, you need unlock bootloader for that.. i used flashfire.
The only thing you can do to improve battery life is(so far, as I've found) disable logd, use greenify(w/o root works fine), disable sync/localization
