Hi,
I was following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899450 to upgrade my defy to froyo 2.2 . After wiping out cache and data, it now goes to a reboot and does not load android. I see the M logo, after few seconds, reboot and again the M logo. This goes on and on.
When putting the system into recovery mode, I see the following error:
E: can't open cache/recovery/command
A search pointed to someone suggesting to format the SD card. I saved the data and formatted the SD card, in vain. The issue is still there. A search again in the forums suggested that I should use motolite and flash to to UK image.
I connected my defy to the RSD lite.
Results were following:

This phone is not under any contract, so I am free to test out ideas in order to solve this issue.
Please let me know how I can get the 2.1 version loaded there back, or a way to recreate the /cache/manager/commands.
Thanks.
Sam
I tested with a few more versions of RSDLite and one worked fine with version 4.0.1
Isn't there any sbf for 2.2 that can be used for defy ?
Thanks.
I'm using the orange deblur http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940238
I tried using the nandroid backup first but got problem like yours http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11282731&postcount=12. Then I used rsdlite to flash the 2.51.1 sbf to rescue the phone. After that I used rsdlite to flash the orange deblur sbf.
But note that after flashing the orange deblur sbf you cannot flash back to the 2.1 (2.51) sbf.
i have tried those 2 method but still no succes

Hello everybody.
Someone sold me a modified Xperia Arc S, lately i felt it was having troubles because of it so i wanted to just wipe data and turn back to a clean install.
The one who sold that phone to me told me to push - button to go to a Advanced menu, that's what i did, i wiped all... And even system part :/
All i know is :
- I have a trollface "U Mad" when i boot on my phone
- I can access to CWM- based Recovery v5.5.0.4 (where i did the wipe) with - button, but i don't have any backup there so can't restore.
- I can install things as zip in CWM
I tried to use flashtools, but i can't boot with blue led, so it does not see my phone in fastboot :

Yes this is another GT-N7102 thread. Yes I did search for days trying to find a solution before posting here. Yes this phone is rooted (installed SuperUser but going through that process of setup and login into the Play Store every time is a pain). No there is no bloody Odin download mode just that infuriating Factory mode all in kanji (Vol Down + Power, holding down menu or not holding down menu still produces the factory mode).
One of the big problems I have is that when I reset to factory and setup the phone, when the phone is rebooted again, the boot loop starts all over. Hence I have only one shot to get it right while the phone is in the operating system before I have to do a wipe again to get out of the resulting loop.
I've been trying for days to get either the stock rom, a custom recovery, or a custom rom like CM installed on this device. I need some help on getting stock installed with maybe a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP, or at least pointed in the direction of the answer.
Information about this particular phone:
Model #: GT-N7102
Android Version: 4.1.1
Baseband Version: N7100XXALIE
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-178067 SMP PREEMPT
Build #: JRO03C.N7100ZSALIA
Custom Build Version: I968.7500A.02.02.I.A-V1.0.3B06R81
At reboot: Vol Down + Power = Factory menu in kanji (there is no Odin mode when pressing Vol up when in this mode, just scrolling through the options)
Vol Up + Power = Boot mode selection (options are recovery, fastboot, and reboot)
Is there any way to do what I am trying to accomplish or am I just screwed and trash the phone?
Thanks
Nin

1. Head to the download page, this is the UNmodified firmware provided ‘as is’ from Samsung/carrier servers.
2. After download is complete, extract the downloaded file and you should get a MD5 file.
3. Enter the download mode form your device [normally by holding the volume up button + home button + power button]
4. Connect your device to your PC.
5. Start Odin.
6. Odin should recognize your device, and you can tell so by seeing that the first slot from the upper left is taken, if not then you need to install a driver for your device. [I personally just download Kies and it automatically download the proper driver for your device]
7. Click on PDA from Odin and browse to the extracted MD5 file.
8. Press Start.
9. Do not unplug your device until the process is fully completed.
10. The phone will reboot and you should see a Pass! on Odin, which means the process was successfully accomplished.
This will turn your device condition back to it's stock condition [like it's brand new] ( no root- no custom ROM -no nothing)
Anyway if you wish to root do the same past steps but using this file.
Afterwards you can install a custom recovery with the same steps again using this file.
Don't proceed with any step of the past steps unless you fully understand every single one of them, if you have any difficulties understanding anything feel free to ask!
If I helped in any way, Hit the [thanks] button ( if I have one XD).
Hello guys.
I'm trying to fix "Device is not certified by Google" error when trying to open playstore on my sisters tablet. It's Polaroid MIDK148PJE02.112 device which is based on Mediatek MT8163V SoC (Windows recognizes it as POLAROID RAINBOW). My plan is to flash custom recovery or obtain root by any other means available so that I can install gapps which will hopefully resolve problem with Play Store.
So far I have tried couple of Windows based root tools (KingRoot, KingoRoot, some chineese tool) and none of those where successful.
I have also tried to use adb and fastboot do unlock bootloader but when I reboot to fastboot mode and run "fastboot oem unlock" it asks me to confirm this by pressing the volume up button but this tablet doesn't have hardware volume buttons.
Then i found some tutorials which mention MTK Droid tools, scatter file and SP Flash tool. When I run Droid tools and click on "Boot map" button it shows only one entry and it start address and everything elese is 0000000. I have attached device info from Droid tools.
Also i have de-soldered battery to be able to start device in that mode for SP Flash tool and device was successfully recognized (drivers installed) but I couldn't do anything without scatter file.
Can anyone give me a hand with this device? I don't have much experience with android phones and tablets but I'm not total noob either.
